This was Rusty's 10th day of his second year at Hogwarts. And what a crazy ten days it has been. While the first few weeks at Hogwarts are always insane, this year was crazier then normal for Rusty specifically. With his little sister getting sorted into the wrong house and Rusty being the one to have to deal with it, his stress levels were amazingly higher then usual. So Rusty decided to take a stroll on the Great Lake one day to reduce his stress.

Rusty had always seen other Hogwarts students strolling by the Great Lake, taking naps by the water, drawing pictures of the scenery, and even doing picnics, and he always thought it would be fun to join. So today, he packed two sandwiches for himself and started his stroll.

As the sun started to set on the Hogwarts castle, it seemed that the Great Lake started to become calmer since students were all heading inside. But Rusty noticed one girl sitting by herself.

He had seen this girl around school before... a first year maybe? Yes that must be it. Rusty remembered her from the sorting ceremony. She was quite cute, actually. Rusty isn't usally, this brave, but it was a new year at Hogwarts so he had some courage to himself, and decided to talk to the girl. He quietly made his way to the girl, stepping quietly so not to startle her.

Hey, mind if I join you?

Rusty looked down at the girl and gave her a slight smile, hoping she would say yes.

Karime continued to relax when she heard a voice above her asking “Hey, mind if I join you?”. She opened her eyes and sat up as she saw a boy with short brown hair, green eyes and freckles. Karime slightly remembers seeing him in the sorting ceremony as he was sitting at the slytherin table already when she entered. She believed he had to be a second or third year student as he looked older. She smiles and nods her head as she says “Yeah I don't mind. I was just relaxing and wanting some fresh air” He sits down a bit away from her as she lays against the tree again. She holds her journal on her lap as a breeze comes and blows her hair a bit again. She is getting slightly chilly

She feels her heart beat slightly faster. She wont lie that he is a bit cute but not used to this feeling. She thinks about her brother's relationship and how he did teach her a bit about love. She decides to introduce herself “Hi my name is Karime Lenior. Im a first year and in ravenclaw”. She smiles softly as she looks to him “What's your name?”

Yeah I don't mind. I was just relaxing and wanting some fresh air.

Rusty smiled slightly to the girl and took a seat next to her on the grass. The sun was starting to set over the Great Lake creating a perfect view. A romantic view.

Now that Rusty was sitting next to the girl, he could see her face a lot closer. She was very cute. Even cuter now that Rusty could see her better.

Hi my name is Karime Lenior. Im a first year and in ravenclaw. What's your name?

A pretty name for a pretty girl.

Actually, that was a pretty good line. It sounded mysterious and poetic. Rusty knew he had to play his cards right, and mysterious artistic older boy could work.

Rusty gave Karime a cheeky smiled but then thought to himself. He really isn't that poetic. Or handsome. He wasn't going to be some Romeo who always was coming up with smooth one liners for his girlfriend. So Rusty decided to change his approach to Karime.

Rusty laughed and smiled to Karime.

I'm not usually that smooth. My name's Rusty. Second year Slytherin.

There was a moment of awkward silence. What was Rusty supposed to say next? Young love is truly so awkward.

So you're a first year right? How are you liking good ol' Hogwarts?

Karime smiled and felt her cheeks get a bit warm as she heard him say “A pretty name for a pretty girl”. Karime has had guy friends in her neighborhood and you could count her brother Jaxon’s friends too but has never had a guy tell her she was pretty like this. Karime heard him say “sorry” and she shook her head as she said “It's okay…. That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me”. She smiles softly and looks at him for a bit as he continues and tells Karime his name.

I'm not usually that smooth. My name's Rusty. Second year Slytherin. Karime nodded her head and giggle softly as he said he is not usually this smooth. Karime realizes he is in the same house her brother was in when he attended Hogwarts. She has heard from her brother how slytherins can be but Karime had learned to never judge a book by its covers but also pages. Also she would like to get to know new people and so she doesn't focus on that he is a slytherin.

Karime spaces out for a bit as the sky starts turning almost cotton candy as it is a pink purplish blue. But Karime snaps out of it when Rusty (Who knows his name now) “So you're a first year right? How are you liking good ol' Hogwarts?”. Karime things for a bit and though its only been a few weeks karime had been liking it a lot. She has seen Ryder Hawke a bit around school as they meet on the train and have since been a bit inseparable even with being in different houses.

Karime looks at Rusty with a smile and says “Yeah it's my first year and I do have an older brother who did attend Hogwarts when he was my age and was actually in Slytherin. Hogwarts has been amazing and I have had a lot of work but it's amazing how many spells there are and I'm loving my astronomy class. That is the one I was looking forward to as I just love the constellations and space so much” Karimes eyes sparkle a bit but if only eyes could really sparkle on their own without a spell.
