(OOC: Sharing this thread with @Annie Morgan and one other first or second year!)

Finding her way out of the Hufflepuff common room and into the corridor, Vikka was on her way to the owlery. Of course she had no idea where she was going or how to navigate the giant Scottish castle. Her stride was slow as she took in the stone walls and moving portraits of past important Witches and Wizards. It was all still so amazing, being here was still such a thrill for her. She had already met one other Hufflepuff Witch names Annie and she seemed like a delight!
Making her way further from the Hufflepuff house she just kept her slow pace. There were a few Slytherin that littered these stoney halls and they didn’t seem too interested in a first year badger. Vikka would not concern herself with anyone who showed her a bitter attitude so she kept on.
The torches were a blaze to light the way, a staircase could be seen straight ahead that would lead her to a whole new floor. How would she find her way? Perhaps she should buy one of those magical maps.... what were they called again? Tickling her brain for the answer she unknowingly stopped and stood in place as her mind searched for the words on the tip of her tongue.

Annie had just finished a Charms lesson with a smile on her face because charms was one of her favorite classes. She had just began walking back towards the Hufflepuff common room when she saw a frantic looking badger, probably a first year standing completely still in a corridor. Annie was no Prefect, nor was she the best at locating classes around school but she always made it to class on time, usually. The girl decided to approach the Hufflepuff, trying to not make too much noise or startle her when she appeared deep in thought.

Annie walked over to her, realizing she looked familiar the closer she got. "Oh it was Vikka, I met her previously in the commons!" She thought to herself when she finally stood in front of the young girl's face. "Already getting lost? I can't blame you the school is pretty big afterall.." Annie paused and furrowed her brows together in deep thought. "Hey, do you need help getting anywhere? I have some free time and could maybe show you around school, kind of like a tour maybe?" She shrugged and glanced around the almost now empty hallway, standing awkwardly with her textbook clutched to her chest as she shifted her weight from foot to foot.

Annie appeared before her and Vikka snapped out of thought ”oh! Hey Annie” she greeted kindly. The offer to help get out was just what she needed right now ”I’m actually trying to get to the Owlery so I can send my brother and parents letters letting them know I made it and such” she rambled on. She had to be to potions class right after she finished in the owlery, maybe Annie had that class next? Hopefully.
The corridor was a bit chilly and dim but still better than the barn back home. She wondered how her parents were getting along without her, with the chores of course. Now that they had no children around to help was the work loaf going to be too much on them? Either way Vikka was much happier here than she was back home.
With classes being released the corridor filled up quickly with busy bodies heading to their next destination. Some stopped to chat with friends passing by, others just made a B line through the crowd. Vikka remained next to Annie and awaited her direction.

Stupid staircases. I'm not even sure what floor I am on now. I'm never going to find my way around this place. Tucking her copper brown hair behind her ear, Skylar raised her eyes to look around her surroundings and exhaled a loud huff. Hoping the staircase she chose right one to the library this time, she clenched tightly onto the rails, her knuckles turning white as the staircase started to move into a different direction. Why in the world would they build moving staircases? Whoever built this place, they didn't think of the newcomers who have a hell of a time finding their way. How considerate. Or maybe anyone who slips and falls, breaking a leg or something? I get it, they can fix simple injuries with a swish of a wand, but the pain from the fracture is still there? You know, safety first and all that jazz.
Grimacing, the brunette climbed the stairs to the top once it came to a still. The atmosphere was dropping quickly, her breath visual from the cold. She should have asked other senior students around, but her stubbornness to find things out by herself eventually lead her into this pit of misery. How could the girl forget, she was always terrible with directions. Clutching her winter cloak tightly around her torso, Skylar took a sharp turn to the left and spotted two figures from a distance. She couldn't catch the details, the conversation muffled from afar. Approaching the two girls, she cleared her throat, hoping to catch their attention.
"Excuse me, I'm trying to find my way to the library. Could you kindly point out the directions for me?"

As Vikka and Annie finished up a flustered Ravenclaw student approached. This girl seemed to be a burdened by the complex layout of the staircases. Vikka may not have known the way to the Owlery but she did know where the library was. ”I can get you there! It will be a good place to write my letters... do you know where the Owlery is?” she asked in return.
This girl stood at height with Vikka. Her hair was a pretty shade of rich brunette that reminded Vikka of the trees back home.

The corridor was lit with life as students marched to and from. Chatter could be herd in multiple directions, almost falling into unison. The cold stone walls were decorated with moving portraits and bright burning torches that seemed to burn forever.

Annie seemed to have disengage from this new conversation since she was starring into her book seemingly stuck on the same subject for too long. Perhaps she was day dreaming? Or recalling where the Owlery was? No matter, Vikka was happy to meet a new student, a first year obviously. The fact she was a Ravenclaw grabbed Vikkas interest most, she hoped to make friends in each house, for a sense of harmony between houses.

Annie watched as more people were shuffling through the hallways. She saw a figure approach them, it looked to be another girl. The Hufflepuff was about to respond before Vikka jumped in to answer the girl's question. "Ah yeah, the library is on the ground floor, you know just a little ways from the dining hall actually.." Her stomach grumbled at the thought and she blushed in a slight embarrassment. "Ah but the Owlery is closer, it's in the West Tower but we can go there later, let's head go library shall we?"

Annie looked over at the other witch and nodded her head. "The name's Annie, I'm a second year so yeah, I think Vikka can introduce herself hm? What's your name by the way?" She was surprised how easily she was being approached by these other students. This girl was most likely another first year since she was looking for directions. Annie shrugged, she was happy to help since last year she was in the same position they currently are. She put her textbook back in her satchel and hummed. "I have a quill and some ink for your letters Vikka and we'll walk you to thr library cause walking alone and getting lost isn't fun." The Second Year grinned in amusement before starting off in one direction. "Coming you two?"

Skylar met eyes with the girl whom spoke first. Considering the enthusiasm, she had a high possibilty of being a first year student, like herself. Or it may just be her trait of a Hufflepuff, noticing the yellow shades of the girl's robes. Loyal, social and kind, if she remembered correctly. "Thanks for your offer. On the other hand, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to return the favor. I actually have no clue where the Owlery is as much as you do. I'm not even sure of my way back to my dorms."

Shugging her shoulders absent-mindedly, she turned to the dark haired girl, whom introduced herself as Annie. "I don't mind, that would be nice actually. I just really need to get a whole grip of the getting around this place. This place is such a maze." She nodded curtly as she listened to Annie introduce herself, and opened her lips. "Name's Skylar, first year in Ravenclaw. Nice to meet you Annie, and.. Vicky?", ending her sentence in a question more than a statement, uncertain about the girl's name she had picked up from Annie's previous comment.
"Coming!" Replying to the senior student who offered to lead, she met eyes with the auburn haired girl and quirked the end of a lips into a smile. "Let's get going, shall we?"

”It’s Vikka” she replied in a small giggle. It seemed Annie was going to bring them to the Library, it would be hard to chat there but Vikka was pretty good at passing notes. She quickly scurried after the Raven who was already at Annie’s side. Vikka took the other side and together they made their way towards the library. ”So what classes do you guys have next” she asked as they commenced through the stony halls.

The pace was quick and steady with Annie taking the lead, there was only so much time they were given to rest up or maybe study a bit between classes. Vikka watched as they passed by many different portraits and banners. On there way was a giant trophy case all decorated in Hufflepuff decor. It was the Quidditch trophy case that held past and current awards. Hufflepuff was in the lead so far and this gave Vikka Pride. Maybe she would join Quidditch?

They were nearing the library now, it got a bit quieter as they came to the part of the corridor where many students hung out to check out the new books they borrowed. They liked to chat as well which makes sense to chose sitting on a stone bench opposed to being shushed in the library.

"Hmm, let me see." Scuffling through her notes, Skylar found a nicely folded sheet and dragged her index finger through the syllabus, scanning through the list. Her gazed stopped at a particular line as her tips of lips curved upwards. "It seems like I have Charms, and that's my last class. I haven't gone to Flying yet, and I'm really looking forward to go. Riding a broom sounds fun, I've only read them in the books. At first glance, the sport sounds awfully dangerous, but then again, you can call everything dangerous that's related to magic, if you see it that way. So, what's your opinions on Quidditch? Perhaps, can you tell us more about the sport? I'd love to hear about how they are played in school. It's quite a popular sport, isn't it?"

Clearing her throat, Skylar shut her notebook with a clam and continued to trail along Annie and Vikka. Eyeing the library at a close distance, she hesitated briefly before opening her lips to speak her thoughts. "Umm.. To be honest, I was going to the library because I don't know much about the magic community, so... I was hoping I could do some extra research about how things work around this place?"The brunette looked down, biting her lower lip with a sheepish smile, feeling embarrassed.

Everyone seemed to be from a magical family, so she didn't want to be stupid, lagging behind all the others. But trying to get a grip about the wizarding world without any guidance was overwhelming. Maybe she could ask the two students for help? They seem friendly. But again, she was careful to approach on this topic, afraid that she might disregarded after realizing she was a Muggleborn. The girl had read from books, some wizard and witches were proud of their legacy and the fact that they were pure-blood, and they despise her kind, calling her kind names. From what she read, it was a word with mud? Anyway, she couldn't afford to risk her chances on making friends with the two nice Hufflepuff students.

Annie looked back over her shoulder at the other two girls, making sure they were following her as she weaved her way through a few hallways and stairwells. She paused at Vikka's comment. "Ah, I have potions next, down in the cold dungeons. Brr during winter its freezing down there." Her body shivered at the thought.

Annie perked up when Skylar shared her schedule and spoke about Charms. "Oh I just got finished with my Charms lesson, I really like the Professor and Herbology and Flying are pretty fun too. Even Transfiguration is fun, but can be hard. I turned an apple into a giant worm instead if an orange once haha.." She giggled at the memory before hearing the word Quddich come out of her mouth. "Oh yes, Quddich is really fun! It can be scary at first coming from a non-medical family or what not but I love flying around the Pitch and scoring for my team, though I haven't made a goal yet this year, Hufflepuff is doing pretty good, and your house too if I recall they won their first game against Gryffindor. We haven't had a match against ravenclaw yet but I'm sure both if our teams will do their best." She smiled at the thought, not letting her competitiveness or loyalty and pride towards Hufflepuff outshine the fact she was making a new friend.

The Hufflepuff rounded one last corner and saw the familiar tall oak doors the lead into the library. "Here we are, the library, try not to be too loud or you'll get kicked out, I'm saying this because I know from experience.." Annie rolled her eyes in a slightly sarcastic manner, knowing she couldn't keep her mouth shut for the life of her and the librarian was already not too fond of her from her first year.

She paused her jabbering to listen to the shy brunette express her reasons for coming to the library and Annie's expression softened. "Well, I'm glad you found us and we'll be sure to help you with anything and everything. With us around you'll never get lost or be late to a class, hopefully, isn'tthat right Vikka?"

The older Hufflepuff looked over to the excited first year with a small smile plastered onto her face. "So what do you want to know? Ask away and I'll try my best to answer, or we could continue to walk around and show you to the owlery and your next class.." Annie glanced over to Vikka wondering who she was writing letters to and felt the stare of the librarian on the back of her neck which made her tense up.

Ah sorry for the late reply, also wow I wrote a lot. Anywho yeah Annie isn't a pure-blood so she could care less and is just overly happy that someone came to seek her for help cause she loves feeling responsible and in charge, though she can get ahead of herself at times
