@Dennis Tumberton & @Raizel VoltrouzLuckily it was a pleasant sunny spring day and so Meyra and Dennis could had a small walk through the cozy, picturesque neighbourhood, surrounding her mother's Tea Shop. The street where Harumi had her establishment was not very large, the cobblestone path was lined with colourful two-story apartments, with balconies decorated with flowers both mundane and magical. As it was Easter Break for many, there was a small crowd gathering there after lunch, with some kids already playing with each other, and people talking and sharing pleasantries.
Her footsteps felt light as she walked side by side with her boyfriend, a word she was still get used to use and still made her violently blush at the thought. Her hand relaxed in his, as if it had become second nature to them. Soon, they finally arrived at Harumi Teahouse, and together, hand in hand, they crossed the threshold of the double glass doors.
As soon as Mey dropped her tender, cheerful gaze from Dennis into the store she immediately found her mother talking with Raizel, and it was like the whole world had stopped for a few, brief seconds, in which Mey realised she was still holding hands with Dennis. Her smile faded slightly as her cheeks turned bright pink, her expression going from cheerful to embarrassed, her eyes going from Rai to her mom and back to Rai again as she quickly pulled away from Dennis' touch, giving him an apologetic glance and a whispered, "Sorry..."
Her mother was looking at them both with a raised eyebrow, trying to keep a serious expression while her dark eyes sparkled with contained amusement. She was wearing her soft pink and white uniform and holding a dishcloth that she threw over her shoulder before crossing her arms over her chest.
Meyra quickly cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure, while a wide, bright smile showed on her face and she focused on her cousin instead, "Rai!" She exclaimed enthusiastically, "You already arrived" Meyra walked to her best friend and pulled her into a hug, "Missed you already!!"

Secrets and Tea Leaves
Dennis couldn’t believe it had been 3 days since that fateful morning by the Great Lake! It all seemed like a whirlwind. On the steps of the Gryffindor Tower, Meyra invited him to hang out with her during the Easter Break, and to do so with the talented Raizel Voltrouz. Meyra sure knew how to keep good company! He hadn’t seen Raizel since his rather ill-advised entry into maze duel. He never got to catch up with her afterward but was excited to see her again! After all, he owed his ability to fly on a broom to her! Through her coaching and, ultimately, her flying away trying to run away from Meyra one winter day, he was able to fly confidently now! It was with much eagerness that Dennis, then, accepted his girlfriend’s invitation before she disappeared from his sight up the tower stairs, leaving his heart to ache just a little bit with the pangs of regret that she had to go.
—————————————————
What a distant memory that was, Dennis thought, holding Meyra’s hand once again. But this time, they were out for a short walk while she introduced her mother’s neighborhood to him. He nodded and grinned the whole time, perhaps asked a smartly observant Ravenclaw question or two. Raizel should be at the tea shop soon, he thought to himself, not that it distracted at all from the moment he was having with his girlfriend, but his upcoming duel was weighing on his mind and he was wondering if he might have time to ask his coach a few questions.
Sure enough, as they went to enter the tea shop, Raizel had arrived and was chatting with Meyra’s mother, Harumi. Meyra let go of his hand to race over to the other Gryffindor, seeming to apologize to him, but, never really noticing the awkward moment, just kind of smiled and shrugged. As he crossed the threshold he waved to his friend and flashed her his goofy Dennis smile. Letting the girls have there moment, Dennis politely addressed Meyra’s mom, either believing he was in the clear from being targeted by Raizel wit, or feigning ignorance all together, “Good afternoon, Mrs. Lancaster! May I help you with anything?”

❂《 ⌜ April 15, 2025 ▎ Sometime ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
Today was the day. A day that Raizel dreaded the most. But why? It was the day where, for the first time in forever, she would be visiting her aunt and uncle's tea shop, Meyra's family tea shop. Her step-cousin, her best friend. There was no reason for her to act like this. Well, she has her own reasons. One was… she doesn't know her aunt and uncle that well. The only reason she agreed was because Meyra asked her and knowing her, she couldn't resist her requests. So without hesitation, she said yes. It was only after a few hours that she realized how awkward this was gonna turn out. How on Earth do you face your aunt and uncle whose existence you are knowing just recently? And Raizel, being this person who can be so bad at socializing, it worries her a lot that she might make a very bad first impression.
“Wait, do they know that I got into a fight with Mey?” That was the first question she had in mind before burying her face on her pillow. That's right, she pushed her too much that time and that led to her gaining that scar on her cheek when Meyra hit her. Her parents… they were understanding. Disappointed but at least they didn't hate Meyra for it. She was glad that at least they have knowledge of what she was going through, her ‘condition’. Other parents would've gone ‘I don't want you going near that girl ever again.’ if they found out about a similar situation and if that person was a werewolf. She just hopes that if they know, they would forgive her for almost exposing their daughter's condition. That wasn't the only thing that she fears though.
When her mother came into her room and told her to get ready, she only let out a pained groan, asking if she could feign sickness which of course, earned her a scorn from her mother. “It's best for you to know more about the family that you could trust.” Her mother told her which is true. While she may have a purist grandmother, the rest weren't as bad as her. That is according to her father though and Meyra's step-father, Rodney Lancaster and his mother, Great Aunt Karina, was one of the few people that her father had kept in contact with. That was also one of her worries, of them being purists, much more when they find out about her failures. Surely they aren't, right? She will find out soon enough.
Once she was ready, Raizel sluggishly made her way to the chimney connected to the floo network just outside their home. Raizel wondered why they didn't just put the chimney inside their house but her dad said it was safer this way just in case. This is gonna be her first time travelling on her own so she hopes she won't make a mistake in saying the address of Meyra's home. She was so nervous that it surprised her that she even managed to say the right words, finding herself inside the office of Meyra's mother or at least, that's what she hoped. The look of relief she had on her face when Meyra's mom, Harumi Lancaster greeted her. There was another surprise waiting for her and that's her knowing that Dennis had arrived already and taking a walk with Meyra apparently. “Oh? Are they now…” amusing, that's what it is. These two were acting strange really. One day they were just staring awkwardly at each other, the next it's like nothing happened. Now, they are taking a walk together?
There was nothing wrong with that really but her gut feeling is telling her something was up. Are those two finally dating? The answer came when Meyra and Dennis returned. Raizel's eyes went from her two friends and then to their hands still intertwined when they entered. A smirk appeared on her face in an instant, liking what she was seeing. “I see how it is…” she uttered and knowing her, she would let Meyra know that she was starting to get curious of what exactly is going on with her and Dennis. “Miss me?” She asked after Meyra was done giving her hug, returning the gesture of course. “It’s only been days.” It was. That couldn’t have been that long. If she missed her this much, then she can’t imagine how much she would’ve missed Dennis.
Speaking of, the boy quickly recovered from that compared to Meyra. Hope he doesn’t think that he’ll be safe forever and hiding behind her aunt won’t save him from whatever comes into Raizel’s mind. “You two looked like you had fun taking a walk.”

@Dennis Tumberton & @Raizel VoltrouzMeyra pushed away from her hug with Raizel, a genuine smile on her lips as she looked at her cousin. She understood the reason behind her smirk and her words of greeting, but she honestly was happy to see her best friend. "Of course I missed you Rai," She told her, "It's only been days but I'm used to your presence during all days." She said while entwining her arm in Rai's and looking at her mother.
Harumi was still having her arms crossed over her chest, and was raising a playful eyebrow at her daughter. Meyra gave her mother a nervous smile, hoping she would not make a comment or ask a question that would make her want to hide in the nearest hole or under the next table. Luckily, that was not about to be the case. Harumi just opted to smile to her daughter and her friends, after sending a knowing look to Dennis, "No need," she kindly replied to him, "However, that's very kind of you."
"I'll be around if you need me." Harumi continued looking from Dennis to her daughter, and then to Raizel, "It was really nice to meet you Raizel, family is always welcome to this place and I hope to see you around more often." She told Raizel, resting her hand on her shoulder and squeezing it a bit in a caring gesture, "What should I bring to you?" She asked the group, "Would you like tea or hot chocolate? Some cookies or pastries?" She continued, "I'll let you seat and I'll come back if you wish something of me." And with that, she left the group, giving a wink to her daughter before turning to go to another costumers that had just arrived.
Mey tugged on her hold at Raizel's arm, grabbed Denni's hand and walked, guiding her friends towards a table at the corner of the shop, right next to one of the windows. The velveted cushioned seats were soft to the touch and comfortable, making the whole place look fashionable but also cozy with a sense of familiarity. Meyra sat on one of the seats, resting her crossed arms on top of the table and smiling happily at her friends, "So, what do you guys think? What would you like to have?" She asked.
"By the way..." She added, biting on her lower lip, showing that she was a bit hesitant in sharing what she was about to ask them, "Guys...I was wondering if..." She took a side look to make sure her mother was not paying attention to them and was far enough to not hear her words, before turning again to her friends, "I was wondering if you could help me with something..."

Secrets and Tea Leaves
Dennis had successfully escaped Raizel. There was absolutely no way she’d have a chance to turn all those clever little looks she was giving to Meyra on him. He wouldn’t forget he wanted to ask her about dueling but he also wanted to let her get her remarks out of her system. Thinking himself safe because he’d pass the time helping Meyra’s mom, Dennis tried to go over to see what needed done. However, he was told that his help wouldn’t be needed, so much for seeking safety with the Lancasters.
“Oh…ok,” Dennis said disappointed but what could he do? Looks like he’d have to be on the receiving end of Raizel’s wit. He sighed before Meyra grabbed his hand again and led them both to a table. He pulled a chair around so that he was oriented in such a way as to be seated on an open side of the table between the two girls.
“I would love some earl grey and…cookies sounds awesome!” Dennis beamed, it reminded him a bit of all the delicious stuff he ate at France. Ah…good times…even the bit about his girlfriend being a werewolf. He smiled warmly as the other two made their order.
With Harumi successfully distracted filling their orders, the Gryffindor leaned in as if to share a secret. She needed help with something? Well, Dennis would do anything for Meyra! At this point, he would deny her nothing. He nodded eagerly like a puppy waiting for instructions. “Yeah of course. Is that why we are here?” He asked in a whisper. Not exactly hurt but more so curious as to the timing of their meeting at the tea shop.

@Dennis Tumberton & @Raizel VoltrouzMeyra glanced over Dennis's shoulder, to the place behind the pale pink counter where her mother was preparing the various orders, including theirs. Normally, Mey would have left the table and followed her to help with all the work, but since she was with her friends, her mother took it easy and let her stay and enjoy time with Raizel and Dennis.
The young Lancaster, looked between her friends again, "Well, it's not the only reason why I invited you both here obviously, but..." She leaned a bit further on the table and keeps her voice down, talking in a whisper, "There's a letter in my mom's office that I really need to read. I don't know what's in there, but I have this feeling it's about my..."real father"."
Mey looked briefly to her hands on top of the table while she fidgeted searching for the right words, "Not that I need him..." She muttered a sadly, swallowing the lump that was forming in her throat and pausing for a heartbeat, before looking up again to her friends, "But I can't keep myself from wanting answers."
Suddenly, she felt nervous, as the self-awareness of what she was about to do really hit her in the gut, making her stomach churn and her heart beat a little faster. Mey took a deep breath before continue in the same whispered tone pf voice, "I need you two to keep my mom distracted for a while. I'll excuse myself to go to the bathroom or something..." She looked at Dennis with an amused knowing look before continuing, "I just need a few minutes...do you think you can do that?" She finally asked them with hope and mischief dancing in her green eyes.

Dennis looked on as Meyra’s eyes darted from her friends, to several places behind him, almost as if she was looking through him. It was a strange curiosity until she chose to spoke. The redhead listened carefully as he always did, taking great care with every word, his ears pricked in excitement hearing each word leave her lips. His heart fluttering despite the seriousness of what she was communicating. Could anything be more wonderful than helping her? The lovestruck teenager would have probably cut off his own hand if she asked for it.
“Of course,” he said, matching her volume, almost as a whisper. His voice equally serious as his gazed locked onto hers. So she needed a distraction? Well, if there was anything Dennis could do it was being incredibly distracting! But…he didn’t really want to go with his first instinct which was to break a bunch of stuff. He didn’t think Mrs. Lancaster would think too kindly of him and he certainly knew Meyra would not appreciate it either! He nodded when she was done and he gave her his trademark grin and a thumbs up.
“Mrs. Lancaster!” He called as he got up and walked over to Meyra’s mother. “Are you sure I can’t help you with anything?” When he got closer to her, his back turned toward his friends, he said in a quieter tone, “I actually would like your help. Can I ask you a few questions about Meyra? I would like to surprise her…but I’m having some trouble. Perhaps you might help me with some ideas?” He asked, gesturing away from Meyra’s targeted destination. He put on his most worried expression and his must rounded begging eyed expression.

@Dennis Tumberton & @Raizel VoltrouzMeyra's smile widened and her eyes shone with gratitude when Dennis agreed to help her without a once of hesitation. She quickly leaned forward and gave him a small peck on his cheek, "Thank you Dennis!" She told him excitedly still managing to keep her voice down to not call much attention to their table.
She saw him leaving the table, her nerves tightening their grip on her as their plan started to get into motion. Meyra fought the urge of biting on her nails as she waited for her mother to be distracted enough so she wouldn't notice her sneaking into her office. The young Lancaster gave Raizel a knowing look before getting up from her chair and, carefully and as quietly as possible, walked behind the counter and through the door that led to the back of the store and her mother's office. Mey kept her eyes on her mother's and Dennis interaction, while making sure the other costumers wouldn't suspect that what she was doing was wrong, keeping her steps looking casual and light.
As she entered the office, she let a sigh of relief escape her, after slowly moving the door leaving the it slightly ajar, so with her senses she could still notice if someone's footsteps were approaching. Once she was sure she was safe, at least for now, Meyra walked with light feet towards the heavy wooden desk and crouched behind it. She opened the drawers one by one, looking for the letter that had left her wondering since the last time she had seen that mysterious man deliver it to her mom. At the time, she had a strong feeling that the letter was somehow related to her, and since then, it has never left her mind, arousing her curiosity every time she thought about it.
After a while, of searching through the drawers, she started to lose hope that she would find it in there, and the time was ticking against her. Dennis, as amazing and impressive as he was, would not be able to keep her mother distracted forever. She sighed in disappointment when she treaded through every single compartment in that desk and found nothing. She knew her mother kept all the important papers and documents there, and she had been almost one hundred percent sure she would find it in that desk.
She cursed herself under her breath, her eyes going to the door, as if she could see through it. She tried to focus her hearing on what was beyond it, she could barely distinguish a sound with all the commotion made by the costumers at the busy shop, and she choose to believe in her luck and risk searching for a minute longer. She turned to look around her, at the armoires and shelves, biting on her lip and trying to think harder where would her mother keep that damn letter.
A heavy sound of something hitting the ground outside made her heart leap on her chest and she quickly crunched down again, her heart beating frenetically before she could calm herself enough to keep going with her mission. She cursed again, closing her eyes and taking deep breaths before she was able to focus again, making sure no one was entering the office. When she opened her eyes again, her gaze landed on a hidden drawer just beneath the desk, and her lips parted in a slow smile as hope rose in her chest. If the letter wasn't there, then she would have to abandon this mission and try another day.
With delicate fingers she opened the drawer and her green eyes lit with victory as she saw a small pile of letters inside it. She grabbed them and searched through her hands until she found the one she was looking for. Folding the letter, she tucked it into the inside pocket of her leather jacket and put the others back in the drawer, closing it. Now...to the last part of the plan so she would call it a success.
Quietly and slowly, she opened the door, peeking behind it and searching for her mom. To her surprise, she seemed to still be talking with Dennis as she was serving the costumers. Meyra noticed that Dennis was putting himself between her mother and their table, and for a brief moment his eyes found hers and she gave him a bright smile and a small nod, before starting to quickly move from behind the counter towards their table at the corner of the shop.
When her ass finally found the comfortable safety of the light pink velvet chair, she finally let a long sigh of relief out of her chest, along with the tension that weighed down her shoulders, "Got it!" She whispered mischievously at Raizel before turning to Dennis giving him a thumps up and mouthed a thank you.

❂《 ⌜ April 15, 2025 ▎ Sometime ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔That is true. Once you get used to seeing someone all the time, it gets weird when suddenly you are not seeing each other at all, even if it's just for a very short time. She would be lying if she says that she doesn't miss Meyra at all. For that, teasing her and Dennis will have to wait for a bit. She turned her head to look at Harumi, showing a soft smile. “It's nice to meet you too Aunt Harumi and I sure hope so as well.” Like what her mother said, it’d be nice to get to know family members who are trustworthy and unlike her grandmother. It’ll give her a fresh experience. Once her Aunt left the three, she felt her step-cousin tugged at her arm and she didn't fight it. She was used to getting dragged around by her at this point and most of the time, it leads into something interesting.
And she wasn't wrong…
The moment they reached their seats, Meyra whispered something to them and even made sure no one else was listening. Raizel gave Dennis a quick look before glancing back at Meyra. Clearly, this girl had plans, more than just hanging out, having cookies and tea. Oh no, she had something up her sleeves and the older Gryffindor is all in for it despite knowing how this could get them into trouble. So much for wanting to have a good impression. This seems to be important however. Meyra wasn't the kind of person to do things without a valid reason.
It's about my… ‘real father’
Now this has turned into something a bit more serious. “Well, say no more.” Raizel said to Meyra, looking at the direction where Meyra’s mother went. She would help, especially if it's something that Meyra sees as important to her. Dennis agreed as well and that's great. To be honest, she doesn't know how to even distract her aunt without looking so suspicious. If there was someone here who could do that, it’d be Dennis. And that he did. Straight to the point with his questions, looking so natural too. She would've whistled at his slick move but that would give it away now, would it. Instead, she listened and smirked. “Giving surprises now, Dennis? Interesting when you two couldn't even look at each other for too long during the ball.” That was one heck of an experience to be honest. Funny, amusing, a bit confusing but perhaps she might have ideas on what exactly is going on.
After that, she gave a quick glance at Meyra, just to see her progress before returning to watching Dennis and her aunt, tapping her finger on her leg restlessly while still trying to look calm and perhaps a bit cheeky due to her previous remark. That was all just a way to fight the nerves, just wishing for Meyra to hurry up in case Dennis’ tactics stopped working. Lucky for them, it was super effective… at least, for now. It felt like she could breathe again when Meyra returned from her successful mission. Thank Merlin Dennis’ distraction worked so well. She didn't even have to give him a hand at all.

With the power of the kiss Meyra planted firmly, Dennis set about asking as many questions about Meyra’s likes and dislikes, and coming up with as many ideas of surprises as he could muster. Harumi was incredibly insightful and a bit dastardly as he nodded and appeared to be making detailed notes. More than once he dared a look over at Raizel who seemed to be caught up in the “will Dennis keep Harumi distracted or not?” and the “Will Meyra be successful” of it all. Well, better to give them a show. Dennis, as Harumi sought to give the customers service, both aided and prodded, always conveniently hiding his own table from her peripheral.
When he saw a flash of beauty from the corner of his eye, he knew the mission was either successful or Meyra was unable to find what she was looking for. Either way, the charade was done. Dennis thanked her mother for her time and dismissed himself back to the table. He gave a wink to Raizel as he sat down at the table and eagerly waited for Meyra’s news.
Yes! She was successful. He returned her thumbs up but wasn’t sure really what to do next. He didn’t see a letter and she wasn’t forthcoming with information. Nevermind they were still in an area where they would get caught. “Well…now what?” Dennis asked both eagerly and expectantly.
