Katrina smiled. She was so excited. The last week she had been telling people all sorts of things. The main topic. A snowball fight. She had told her potions class on Tuesday. On Thursday she announced to the Small Hall there would be a Friday fight. She left flyers in the Library and in the Common Room on Monday. Everything was dated to Friday at 4:30. The time was 4:16. Katrina was bouncing in excitement.

The last night dropped three inches of snow. People used the Courtyard all the time, so the ground was hard packed. A few small fights had broken out over the last while, but this was going to be epic. Katrina dropped her stuff under a bench and ran around. The Courtyard had a few well-used paths of packed snow that striped across the field. A few small groves of trees lay on the outskirts of the garden.

Katrina created a small mound of snow to hide behind. She dug down a few inches and created a ton of balls behind it. The time was 4:25. Katrina smiled and looked around. Nobody was around yet but a few people that had been for the last while. Katrina tucked her red and gold striped scarf tighter around her neck.

Time was creeping by slowly and Katrina couldn't wait. It was going to be so much fun! Snowball fights were a staple at her old house. Her brother and her used to draw them out for hours that turned into days. They began to keep count of the ambushes they prepared. The memories lingered in her mind's eye and Katrina didn't even notice a few people trickling in.

Juniper stepped cautiously, tentatively into the courtyard. She'd found a flyer in the library, another in the common room, and she'd stashed one away in her Dark Forces book so she wouldn't forget. She wasn't about to get ambushed.

The thing was, she had to cross the courtyard anyway on her way back from class. She could pick a different route, maybe, but she was likely to get lost down random corridors of the castle. And she didn't usually cross the courtyard until 5:00, but she was here at 4:28, precisely. She didn't want to get caught in the thick of things.

She stood just outside the door, scanning the courtyard. A few inches had fallen the night before, and conditions were optimal for an epic snowball fight. Juniper could see a few patches here at there where it looked like snow had been scooped. But at the moment, all was still. A few students were crossing as usual, but no one was lugging any snow at the moment. A small pile on one end seemed like a fort of some kind, but besides that everything was as it normally was.

Juniper realized she was disappointed that she'd managed to steer clear of the fight. Her disappointment made her realize she'd secretly been itching for the action. Well! There was a quick fix for that...

She put on her protective gloves and stooped down to pack a large, dense snowball. She tried to make it look like she was tying her shoe or something, but as she was wearing boots she figured she wasn't fooling anybody. And there was definitely somebody behind that little mound of snow. She wrapped her scarf around the lower half of her face... a "disguise" that again would fool no one.

She crossed the courtyard, stopping a good healthy distance from the snow mound. Someone had shown up early for this, and thought to prepare. Juniper wanted to know who.

She shouted "HEY!", and surprising herself with her own aim, lobbed her snowball in a clean arch that brought it sailing over the stranger's wall of snow.

Keenan was already in the Courtyard, existing before the aftermath of the snowball fight as a couple of kids, ones he haven't even seen before, were preparing their defense behind the crystallized snow. It was magical in a way like he already saw this before in a movie he couldn't remember the name but it was quite impressive whoever did this had planned it for quite sometime.

How did he know? Well, talk about snow and fighting appears to gather the attention of most students who are bored from the studying of spells and the homework they were required to do. This goes for Keenan as well as the naive excitement of learning about the Wizard World was starting to dull out and in addition, not seeing too much action and grand antics as Keenan was basically a loner. He liked watching people as they talked about all topics that he didn't even know about until they started talking about it.

Plus he knew he was more boring than stale dung.

Keenan, wearing a thickly protected robe that shined his house colors of Yellow or what the Hufflepuff Perfects say,
"A dazzling Gold."
The rusty haired lad was hanging around the background, cautiously eyeing the 'battlefield' for any rogue snowballs that could come hurling at his face, possibly breaking his prescription squared glasses. If they broke, he couldn't put himself in a situation of asking one of the nurses to fix the glasses for him as asking for help just felt...

Wrong. The only exception in his books would be a teacher helping a student like himself.

It appeared to be two girls chucking snowballs at each other. However, one of them had a little snow-fort, protecting her. If that be case, he was going to help out the underdog in this situation! Keenan was tad bit slower when it came to forming the snowballs, as he didn't have gloves on, but standing by side of the girl.

He proclaimed,
"Hello! Mind if I hop in?~"

He snickered before lobbing snowballs directly at the fort. Not even waiting for an answer.

Might as well try to break the fort instead of trying to snipe from overhead.

Katrina could hear muffled voices from behind her snow-fort she couldn't quite tell who it was though. A well-aimed snowball hit her smack on the head. The cold ice traveled down her robes and Katrina stood up attempting to get the snow out. The knee-high fort didn't do much good and she stooped back down again quickly. The glance from when she stood told her that two people were standing there.

Katrina scooped a ball of the white fluff and lobbed it over. Three more followed in the hopeful direction of the students. She quickly scooped up a ton more round compressed snowballs and set them along the back edge of her fort. She grabbed a half a dozen and threw them all at once.

Two people was fun, but Katrina couldn't help imagining if more people joined. How epic would that be? 20 or more people throwing snow at one another. She ran from her hiding spot with all of her snowballs in hand.

She threw random snowballs as she ran and didn't see the mound of snow in front of her until she fell. The pure white smacked her in the face. Katrina grinned as she stood up and continued to run. She took quick swipes at her face to keep the cold away and attempted to dodge any incoming projectiles.
