Meeting a new one
Kara sat at the shore and stared off into the distance. She loved the Great Lake. The ripples and small gurgles of the water soothed her after a long day of working and studying.
She gazed up at the stars above her and listened to the crickets chirp as the sun set against a beautiful magenta sky. She smiled, nature had such beauty, and everyone loved it, she wished that she could be love to, but no one seemed to find any interest in her.
She pushed her long brown hair out of her face and laid down on the soft sand, not caring if she had to wash her robes again.
Kara had been at Hogwarts for only a week, and she already missed her siblings Gabriel and Mia, and her foster parents, Lilly and Matthew. She remembered how she got her last name. It was Capricorn, her horoscope, just like Matthew's last name, Libra. Since her last name was unknown, Lilly decided to take Matthew's tradition upon Kara.
She got up and sat down, looking upon the newly found moon. It's bright light shined on the Great Lake, making the lake seem to glow. She looked around and placed her head on her hands and stared up at the night sky, wondering if her wish of friendship would ever come true.

Meeting a new one
Viv had only been here for 3 days and she was already conflicted. How could she manage to make a statement and be noticed with so many wizards around. She had small talked with a few from her house, but overall she was still feeling discouraged. She couldn't believe her four brothers had done so well here, and was already nervous for the first owl her parents would send. And the fact she had to tell them Griffindor. She was actually speechless, and she knew her family would be. Her mom was a Ravenclaw and her dad a Slytherine, and her four brothers had been half of each one. A Gryffindor would be a huge surprise. Well thought Viv, I've got to get socializing.
"I've yet to make any friends" she said speaking her thoughts out loud.
Although her classes haven't been nearly as hard as she thought they would be. Her brothers have shown her a few things although she had never done them, it was helping that she had heard of them. Viv suddenly decided she needed some fresh ait and darted outside heading toward the Great Lake. As she ran she felt free... and suddenly she wasn't so worried after all.

Meeting a new one
Kara looked over at where she heard the voice come from. She saw a girl there. She looked at the symbol on her robe and it showed that she was a Gryffindor. She remembered that her foster mother, Lilly, had told her that she was a Gryffindor.
Kara walked around the lake and stopped near the girl and got a closer look at her. She had long brown hair and was fairly tan looking in the moonlight. She had large eyes but she couldn't figure out the colour. She walked nearer and saw that she was thee average height and was sorta skinny just like Kara. She seemed to look pretty vulnerable, but from knowing she was in Gryffindor, she thought twice about that.
"Hey!" She called, as the girl looked over at her as she was running towards her.
She came close and saw some very pretty ocean blue eyes. She was sort of jealous, her own eyes were just a dusty brown. She had always wanted eyes that would shimmer, but Kara's were just there.
"Hello!" She continued, "I'm Kara, Kara Capricorn."
She then realized how weird the girl must've thought she was, last name and all.
"Oh, umm, well. I'm Kara! Nice to meet you!"
