“I will try.” Zach inhaled deeply and tried to exhale all the anxious feeling he had in his chest. The feeling that made his chest full. Something that slowly made him suffocate if it wasn't let out. His heartbeat slowed. His grips whitened with courage. He should be able to fly. He must be able to fly.

Nonstop nodding, Zach tried to absorb all the tips from the Hufflepuff. He found something calming in his explanation. His careful words and demeanor reassured him. His touch relaxed Zach's shoulder, making more of the fear fall from his body. It was like his body telling him that he would be okay under Landon's supervision. It was a shame that Zach didn't know the boy in his earlier school year. Zach thought he might fly better if he knew Landon sooner. “I really want to try. I can't stay not to be able to fly forever, right?” he chuckled.

He once again took a deep breath. He took the broom that was handed by Landon, and started to ride it. “I…” Zach stopped. He looked at Landon who stood beside him, looking for more reassurance. He tapped the ground lightly with his toes.

d20(7)+3=10 no crit fail, fly 10 centimeters from the ground.

He was ten centimeters above the ground. Fear started to creep slowly from his toes to his head. He felt his feet weakened. His hands tried so hard to stay on the broom. He felt something enfolding his neck. d20(8)+12=20 His mind fighting for him, defending the boy, making the fear failed to fully control him. “Landon…” He called. His voice was weak and shaking.

Landon offered Zach an encouraging smile, glad to see that Zach was starting to relax a little. He was happy that Zach was trying to do this, though he would never pressure him into flying. He wanted Zach to feel confident in himself, and he also wished that everyone took to flying as easily as Landon did. But he also understood the fear. Flying could be quite dangerous; especially when you played a sport.

"You can do it," Landon said encouragingly. "Just keep breathing," he said softly. He didn't want Zach to panic once he kicked off the ground, but he knew that Zach could do this if he tried. Landon was happy to reassure his friend. They might not know each other super well, but he definitely wanted to get to know Zach better. Any friend of Alyssea's was probably a good friend to have.

Landon stood close to Zach as he took the broom. He wanted to be close in case Zach panicked. He didn't intend Zach to fly high, but even if he did, he would do his best to calm Zach down and help him back down to the ground. He smiled widely as Zach hovered ten centimeters from the ground, proud of his friend.

But then he noticed that Zach was starting to panic. He stepped closer and looked at Zach, his eyes gentle. "You can do this," he said again. "I promise that I'm right here," he said. He let his hand hover over the handle of the broom, prepared to grab it if Zach needed him to. "You are doing great," he said. "Even if this is all the height you get today, this is progress, and that's great!"

The reassurance from Landon made his fear subside little by little. He had full control of his body again. "I'm okay now," Zach said. He was still hovering in the same position. "I think I will try to fly a bit higher," he grinned. Nervousness could still be seen on his face, but he was doing better than earlier. d20(12)+3= 15, adding 30 centimetres more height of his flight. The brom hovered higher. It was the highest he had ever had in his flying history, if he excluded his failure to fly stably. "I can do this..." He grinned. His hands are shaking from holding the broom too tightly.

He looked at Landon with a wide grin. He could feel the fresh wind on his face even though he was just about half a meter from the ground for some long minutes. Sometimes he add a bit more hight or lower it. He actually wanted to moving forward, but held himself. He didn't want to put more burden on Landon's shoulders. He slowly went down, his feet touching the ground. He gave back Landon's broom, his cheeks blushed from the excitement. "It's my longest time on the broom. Thanks to you."

He looked at Landon. He didn't know that the boy was this nice and sweet. Zach thought he was the kindest and calmest boy he had ever met. Someone might throw him a hand from their impatience but he was different. "Do you have any plan after this?" Zach looked at the boy.

Zach actually had something in mind but didn't know if he was okay to ask it to Landon. His hands were tangled in nervousness but the boy bravened himself. He should leave any shyness and shame in him to be better. "I actuallly wanted to try fly forward. I want to try broom racing in the future, if I could. Maybe... Maybe I can ask for your help for this? I know it's a huge asking. But..." He looked at Landon, trying to guess his response in hope.

Landon smiled as Zach thanked him for his help. "Of course, Zach. You're my friend, and I want to help you. As longa s you don't join Quidditch and then come and kick my butt," he said with a laugh. He knew that Zach was still trying really hard to get better at flying and Landon was happy to help.

"Once you get the hang of flying in good weather, some day we will have to come out in a storm," he joked. He didn't want to scare Zach, of course, but the best way to get good at flying was to fly in all sorts of weather. "But no rushing into things," he added, not wanting Zach to be nervous. "I won't keep you too long," he said as Zach talked about needing to work on his notes and things like that. "Yeah, I suppose we should do our studies instead of just enjoying the fresh air on a broom. If I could, I'd do my homework while on my broom, but that would be awkward and dangerous," he said with a laugh.

"Yes, we can meet here again any time you want to," Landon said with a friendly smile. "You can always use my broom again, if you want," he offered. The school brooms were okay, but Landon knew his own broom was better. Landon smiled as Zach told him he could find anything they needed because he used to be a prefect. "Sounds good," he said. "I don't know what we need, but I'll keep that in mind," he said with a smile.

Landon watched as Zach ran to the bench, curious when Zach told him to wait. He took the items that Zach handed him and looked at the curiously. "Ooh Muggle chocolate! That's exciting," he said with a smile. Unlike some purebloods, Landon really liked the idea of Muggle culture and he wanted to experience a lot of it for himself. His twin was less open to Muggle stuff, but Landon was his own person and he loved it. "Thank you, Zach, you didn't have to give me anything," he said, but held them in one hand while holding his broom in his other.

Landon smiled as Zach started to leave. "See you soon!" he called, following him briefly before going his own way.

Landon is really... different. His words and acts were calming, which made Zach feel weird but also good at the same time. Not only that, but he was also very supportive. Is it because he's a Hufflepuff? "Thanks, Landon," Zach replied to his support shyly. The Ravenclaw boy could only smile and sometimes threw his gaze to his surroundings.

He looked upon the sky. The sun shone warmly. The breeze hit his skin softly. His lungs were filled with fresh Spring air. "It is indeed a nice day," Zach agreed. "I need to tidy up my notes today. And also a self-research on something," Zach grinned, trying to hide the last one.

He chuckled at Landon's response. His stomach felt light after hearing Landon's agreement. It was like his nervousness was lifted from his body. "Thank you! We will meet again here to practice. Is that okay? I will borrow a school broom so we can practice better. And let me know if you need anything. I used to be a prefect, so I know where to find anything," he winked. He couldn't contain his excitement about how he would be progressing in Flying. Could he catch up to his peers' level? Or was he ready to fly in broom racing? He could only imagine for now.

He ran to take his things from the bench and back. He rummaged through his satchel. "Uh... Wait..." The rustling from the stuff inside could be heard. He gave Landon a bottle of sparkling water and a chocolate bar. A weird combination, but Zach felt bad if he didn't give anything to show his gratitude. "I only have this from broom racing practice today. But I will treat you to a more delicious thing. And oh! It's a famous chocolate brand in the Muggle part." He once again grinned widely.

"So... See you soon for the practice," Zach smiled before they parted.
