From Familiar Beginnings
Tabitha smiled politely, listening as Nicholas told of his family. Mother a singer and father potion book writer. He seemed to be from a rather renowned family line. Tabitha wished she had brushed up on her mothers notes prior to coming here. She definitely should remember his family line in the future. "Sounds so delightful!" Tabitha's expression was polite still with a genuine smile. Without thinking of it much, she had slid into the demeanor she held at events.
He seemed to pause as Tabitha posed the question about if he would have expected to be sorted into Ravenclaw. She immediately felt as though that was a question she should not have posed. She was about ready to retract the question and talk through the uncomfortable silence when he blinked back into reality. When he returned, Tabitha shuffled once, adjusting her stance and taking a breath to center herself.
There seemed a hesitance to his tone as he admitted to his mother thinking he would be somewhere between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Tabitha kept her expression polite to not seem to force him to say more than he wanted. "My family has never had a specific house, but I don't think I ever imagined myself in Ravenclaw," She contemplated for a brief beat before continuing, "I don't think I fit many of the stereotypes but I do love the atmosphere and all of the peers I've met so far. Maybe there's still time for me to unlock a specifically intellectual potential of some sort," She gave an amused shrug.

From Familiar Beginnings
Nick gave a little embarrassed chuckle, all his hopes that she hadn't seen him freeze that way were thrown out the window from her reaction alone. "Sorry- Sorry" He mumbled, although he wasn't sure if he was apologizing to her or to himself.
"I suppose, there is a lot of Ravenclaw I haven't got to see just yet, everyone I've met feels so... Serious in a way" His hands almost instinctively reached down for one of the many origamis he had folder, a little frog made of parchment. He traced his fingers across it as he thought about his next words. "A part of me keeps asking if I'm in the right place, because the more I learn about the students in Ravenclaw, the more I feel like the hat just put me here because my father wanted me to be."
Then he shook his head, trying to get rid of those awful thoughts that seemed to plague him so often, like a lamp being lit his expression changed to a warmer smile, while talking about himself tended to feel stressful, talking about his friends seemed much easier. "But enough about that... Have you... been having fun in Hogwarts? I bet you're better than me in most classes. You have the air of someone who knows a lot about History of Magic." Which granted, was a rather boring subject for Nick. "I swear, every time the professor opens their mouth I feel like falling asleep!"
