On balance, Odi wasn’t generally a fan of rules. What was the point of being a handsome devil and a competent sorcerer if you didn’t get to have a little fun bending strictures once in a while? As such, he took great pleasure in entering the school library with a bright red apple in his hand, tossing it in the air playfully and catching it again. He couldn’t yet spot the librarian, but if she didn’t spot him already she would soon hear him. He raised the scarlet fruit to his lips, and with a conniving grin, bit down hard into it with a hard, sharp CRUNCH.

Odi leaned against a pillar coolly, scrunching up his nose as he examined his handiwork on the apple. It was a bitter variant. A few students had looked up from their books to see what had caused the commotion by the doorway, but he payed them no mind. People would stare at him regardless of what he did in this school, so why not give them a little show? His eyes flickered across the various books darting across the open air and silently wondered wether he could knock one out of it’s path if he threw something at them.

Angrily reading the note that fell out of her folder, she grew more and more angry at her mother. Apparently she lied. A lot. Her first letter? The one saying she didn't know if her grandmothers sickness was worse and thought it was just a cold? No she knew that her grandma had cancer. She sent her father, grandmother, and her God awful mother a letter. Finally her father got back to her right after she sent her mother a letter. He explained everything. He was very very confused. Her mother told him that she sent a owl telling her that her grandma had cancer. But instead sent a owl saying her grandma was sick and planned to send Bree a second owl telling her. Although her mothers plan failed because she didn't think Bree would send a letter asking about it.

Staring at the same words in the letter. The ones that broke her heart and made her furious at her mother. Your grandmother has cancer. Leukemia to be exact. Getting stuck in a trance of reading and rereading these words, she jumps at hearing someone eating something obnoxiously. Rolling her eyes, she looks up and spots who was making the commotion. Everyone seemed to glance at him and immediately look away. Not one person said a thing. Angrily sighing she says loud enough for him to hear, "Did you know there's a way to eat quieter. Because ya know, people are actually studying and working here?"

Even though she herself wasn't really studying she still was overly annoyed with him. There's no reason to be that obnoxious in such a quiet place.

Almost instantly a second year girl jumped at the sound of Odi’s chewing, and a small smirk played at the boys lips at the sight.
“Did you know there's a way to eat quieter-” She seethed. “-Because ya know, people are actually studying and working here?"

“Oh well.” Odi replied breezily, taking another bite. “You won’t tell on me will you? I’d find it hard to get mad at a face like that.” He shot her a cheeky wink, glancing back up at the books for a second before looking at the parchment in her hand. He jutted his chin towards the paper and inclined his head. “Bad news?”
He’d had his fair share of letters from home lately, mostly howlers from his father giving lectures about skipping class and causing trouble. None from his mother though, she knew better than to think her admonishments would do anything other than spur him on.

Still, Odi’s expression softened a little as he asked the question. The younger girl didn’t seem like the rebellious type, and given that the letter hadn’t exploded and started screaming yet it was fair to say it wasn’t a howler. At the same time though, something in the girls tone gave him the impression that she had come to the library for some peace and quiet while reading hard news rather than to study.

Bree rolls her eyes when he opens his mouth and responds. And then winks at her. Which causes another eye roll. He obviously thinks highly of himself. She pretends to think if shed tell when she knows the answer already. No she wouldn't tell. There's no point in telling the librarian that someone is eating loudly. One she is not a tattle tale and two it would just waste her time. Before she answers with some remark he nods to the letter in shes holding. Crumpling it in her right hand she lets out a sad sigh before answering him.

"Yep. Isn't it always bad when it comes from home," Letting out a sarcastic laugh, Bree looks down at the crumpled letter in her hand, "Either its how disappointed they are, or how I skip too many classes in one day, or finding out how your own mother lies to you about something so important. Only four words at least!"

Her voice raises at the last thing she says. She turns red and lowers her voice, "Sorry. You uh didn't need to hear any of that. Unless you like to annoy people then listen to their family problems."

Cracking a small, but real smile at him, she turns in her seat and opens the book in front of her to the very last page. Smoothing out the wrinkled letter she folds it nicely and puts it in her book. Closing her book a little too hard she swirls back around and faces him once more.

"Just so you should know I'm Bree. And I normally don't rant to other people but I guess today was the exception. Anyways how bout you?"
