She had heard whispers about a ghost in the bathroom. But there was no ghost to be found. Even though it sucked that she didn't get to catch a glimpse, she would be sure to check back tomorrow, or perhaps even in a couple of hours. She had many more years to try and catch a ghost. Her mom had told her a story about Moaning Myrtle when she was very little, but to be honest, she didn't believe her. She's not sure she does even now. Deciding to give up and also not really being too keen on spending an exorbitant amount of time in the bathroom, she headed to the mirror to check that she didn't have anything on her face. Unfortunately, she tripped on a loose tile on the way and scraped her knee. She dusted herself off and approached the mirror once more, this time to wash the dirt off her hands as well. She spent a long time scraping underneath each fingernail and making sure there was not a speck of dry, excruciating dust left. She looked up at the mirror after and made horrible eye contact with herself. A shell. Ellie knew the castle was ancient. Geriatric. She didn't know the exact year it first came into existence, however. She'd probably learn that in class. But the castle wasn't falling apart. Someone must clean up around here. Then she remembered cleaning spells. The boys' bathroom was probably rank. She really hoped the ghost wasn't actually in there. She leaned forward, pinning her waist against the counter, and looked deeply into her own eyes. The mirror wasn't dirty if you were super up close. As long as you looked into a spot where a previous girl had wiped some grime off. But the glass was covered in many tiny holes. She washed her hands once more. She stood on her tiptoes to make out the small etchings that past students had engraved in the corner. Most we're just dates, some initials, but there we're also some really mean comments. Ellie figured bullying was a much bigger problem in the past. Grabbing a small shiv from her pocket, she tried to think of something unique to write. But she couldn't think of anything. So, instead, she was left staring at herself.

@Ellie Soluna
A trip to the lavatories was the thing to do before heading to class. It was an early morning habit for Tatiana, she'd been doing it since she was seven. Mainly to keep on her appearance and look respectable, tuck in a few strands here and there and fix her face before setting the day off.
She was jolly today, humming a tune while carrying her books. She entered the lavatory, expecting it to be empty, she always felt more confident when she was alone somehow. Her eyes darkened slightly at the sight of Ellie, but resumed to her merry ways as she set her books on a nearby table next to a vase of peonies.
Tatiana walked to Ellie quietly, perhaps testing her reflexes whenever the girl was alone. She wasn't sure if they'd met before, but Tatiana swore she'd seen her at least once around the castle, this was a small world anyways.
The lavatory was unusually dirty for a girl's one, she knew which sinks were full of grime and which mirrors worked best, it was shocking to her to see that women couldn't keep their bathrooms clean, but Hogwarts was also full of surprises sure.
A mere five steps separated Ellie and Tatiana, whose hands were high up in the air and a huge grin had spread on her face as she prepared to spook the other girl, “Boo!”, she yelled, gripping the girl's shoulders as her voice rang out in the high walls of the lavatory.
