Owls & Butterflies
Lycan held onto Amy's hand the whole way to the Owlery. He didn't even notice that he was doing it honestly. Though, even if he did he probably didn't care, or he'd use the excuse that he was just trying to reassure her. The pair made their way up the winding stairs to the room where the owls stayed, the closer they got the draftier it became. Lycan was anxious to see the look on his friend's face when she finally got to see one of her favorite animals.
They entered the circular room, Niches filling the walls. Some had owls in place still, while others were empty meaning that owl was off to carry or already carrying a message. The first thing Lycan noticed was the Arctic Owl that Amy had mentioned she wanted one of her own. He smiled as he watched all the owls happily relaxing on their perch. He then turned his attention to Amy, practically dying to see her face with a happy expression.
He chose this place mostly for his friend, but he'd be lying if he said it was entirely for her. The truth was that he loved animals too, and this all fascinated him and made him just as happy as it was probably going to make her. He was anxious the day he'd have an owl or any pet of his own here. He wished he could've brought one of his cats from home, but for whatever reason they couldn't. Lycan soon noticed he was still holding onto Amy's hand. He didn't want to hold her back from possibly petting a few of the owls, but at the same time he kind of like her hand in his hand. He decided that letting go or holding on would be entirely Amy's choice, and that he'd be alright with whatever choice she made.

Owls & Butterflies
When Lycan had taken her hand Amy had turned a shade of tomato red. A few people gave them weird looks or smirked at their hands and she found herself blushing more, if even possible. Oh, if my dad were here now. She thought and threaded her fingers through Ly's a bit hesitantly. She thought about what her mother had said about holding hands, and she surpassed a laugh when she realized her mother must not have been as experienced as she claimed. Lycan's hands were not sweaty, holding onto her too tight, or shaking. He was completely calm holding her hand as if it hadn't affected him and this was entirely normal to do. That is what scared her.
When she got to the Owlery, a weird fluttering feeling took over her stomach. It felt as if, an owl was flapping it's wings inside of her. This was new to the eleven year old, and she tried to remember if anything she'd eaten resembled an owl. Her..friend, stood there admiring the birds, and Amy did the same. An owl was missing and she gasped. Had she eaten it?! Is that way her stomach was feeling this way? She waited to see if Lycan would drop her hand, but he looked down at their intertwined fingers and then smiled at her. She was ecstatic.
"There's an Arctic Owl Ly look!" She raised their hands and pointed to it, almost running over to where the majestic bird sat on it's perch. She turned around to face him, their hands still locked together and grinned. "I want to buy a house large enough for an Owlery one day"

Owls & Butterflies
Lycan felt Amy threading her fingers through his. Even though it was reluctantly, he still couldn't help but smile at the gesture. Once they made it into the Owlery, Lycan heard Amy gasp and he turned and looked at her. His facial expression held minor concern, as he thought that maybe one of the owls had somehow spooked her. "What happened? What was with the gasp... Are you okay, Amy?" he questioned, his blueish-grey eyes glancing around the room, trying to place what had caused the sudden sound to slip through her lips. Lycan could see nothing wrong in the room, and so he arched a dark eyebrow questioningly in the direction of his friend.
However, he soon had his answer. Or at least he had what he thought could have been the answer as Amy exclaimed, "There's an Arctic Owl, Ly, look!" and she raised their linked hands to point to it. She practically, but not quite ran to it, and naturally Lycan followed, laughing quietly, and he smiled at her. She soon turned to face him and he looked down at her as she spoke up once more, "I want to buy a house large enough for an Owlery one day." was all that she said, and Lycan listened intently the whole time.
"And I swear I will be supporting you through that as well. Who knows, if I'm ever rich and famous enough I might just help you get yourself in the business. Become one of your first Patrons, if not the first, or something. Actually, I will be the first. New goal aside from Quidditch." he said, and then he smiled at her again before his thoughts wandered. "Hmm... I wonder if these owls are friendly enough to let you pet them. Or maybe we can't because they're not ours and are technically working?" he inquired aloud as he redirected his attention to the Arctic Owl in question.

Owls & Butterflies
Amy was watching the owl with excitement. He or she was absolutely beautiful, the silvery wings and coloration of it's eyes were something Amy couldn't help but admire. She giggled when Lycan thought something had frightened her, and her giggle turned into a pout when she noticed he had to look down at her when she talked. No fair. But his next words caught her entirely offguard, and she looked up at him with a shocked expression. He wanted to be her first patron? He already was her first friend, what else would he be the first of? Without noticing, she tuned out the rest of what he was saying and it was as if she was seeing him for the first time. He was handsome, but she hand't noticed that before. A few strands of his hair stood out of place, yet she hadn't noticed that before either. And the butterflies she felt in her stomach only increased when she noticed what her sudden interest in the little things meant. She liked him. A slow blush rose up on the girls face, and she bit her lip before turning back to the owl. Surely she couldn't tell him how she felt, he was just her friend afterall. Amy listened as he asked if they'd be allowed to pet them, and at the moment Amy cared not about the rules. She raised her hand tentatively and allowed the owl to sniff it, before placing it on his fur. "He's very handsome. Like you" she blurted out before she could stop herself and turned a scarlet red. "I-I, I mean, here do you wanna pet him?"
