New Friends? Or Maybe Just a Stalker

After making it through the first classes of the day, it was time to get to the next one. So far he managed to find his way to his classes but now he was getting a little lost trying to find the next one for History of Magic. He looked around as upperclassmen students were walking by in their groups as Leo tried to avoid them. It was in this moment he had his siblings still in school so they could give him some help. While one of his cousins was a fifth year, he wasn’t that close to her and he also didn’t want to have to bother her.

As he walked by group after group of students he managed to avoid anyone, being that he was a first year and still shorter than a lot of the upperclassmen he didn’t want to get in any of their ways. He looked down at the books in his arms and continued to shuffle his way through the next corridor on his way to his destination.

As he went to look up from his books he ended up running into someone. Oh no, oh no, what happened- He thought to himself as he saw his books all fall out of his arms to the ground after the two knocked into each other. Leo heard the person he bumped into get into yell at him for running into her and he immediately started apologizing quietly. “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.. I should have paid more attention.” He quickly tried to pick up all of his books now that the textbooks, his notebook and his drawing book were all open out on the corridor floor.

Leo felt so bad that he had knocked into someone, and on the first day of classes when he was already trying to figure out his way around. Now he was getting nervous about being late to the next class since he still didn’t know exactly which way to go. What a great way to start the school year, He thought to himself. While he tried to quickly gather his stuff and put it back together neatly, he noticed the girl had knelt down to help him pick everything up. “Oh you didn’t have to-“ Leo started to say quietly but it was already too late the other had already begun picking up some books.

He put the books in his arm and held his hand out to take the others from the girl, who had gone from angry, yelling before to pretty much quiet as a mouse now. “Thank you for your help and I’m sorry again for running into you,” Leo placed the book and his drawing pad in his arm before looking back at the girl as she still hadn’t gone on her way yet. Should I ask her for help- unless she’s new too and doesn’t know.. He thought to himself before clearing his throat to speak again, “Um, you wouldn’t happen to know which way to go to get to the History of Magic classroom, would you? I think I got myself lost somehow.” He admitted and chuckled nervously. No harm in trying to ask this girl for some help he figured as he brushed himself off with his free hand.

Although he felt bad for not paying attention, Leo couldn’t help but laugh as the pair of them kept apologizing to each other over and over again. That laughter again ceasing as he realized the time. He was extremely grateful the girl said she would help him find his way to the classroom, maybe there was still a chance to make it on time. Leo refused to be late on his first day so he gestured with his hand to the girl to lead the way. “Thank you so much, I really don’t want to be late.”

The girl gave a small smile as they began to walk down the corridor again on the way to the classroom. He noticed she called him ‘Mr. Ravenclaw’ before when she said she would help him and realized he hadn’t gotten to introduce himself to her with all the chaos that just happened. “Also, you can call me Leo instead of Mr. Ravenclaw.” He introduced himself and chuckled softly again at the nickname as he said it. “Unless you prefer that.” Leo jokingly said as he continued following her, looking over at her before asking, “What was your name?” As they walked Leo held onto his books tightly as he tried to look around the hall to memorize the area so he could hopefully remember for next time where he had to go.
