|»|.•*The Sorting Ceremony

It had been a long day of travel, from the multi-hour train ride to the final boat ride across the lake, right up to the moment Eloise and her classmates were directed through the grandiose double doors leading the way to the end of their very first hogwarts adventure. As they entered the building, Eloise tried to distract herself from the nauseous feeling in her stomach after the boat ride across the lake by reflecting on her day.

Eloise’s Day started out like any other, except today there was a buzz of excitement in the air that she couldn’t ignore.

After going through her routine quicker than usual thanks to the excitement, Eloise, Phillip, and their parents got into the car and started on their way to the train station. On the drive, Phillip told Eloise to keep her bar low when it came time to be sorted into her house, compared to what had happened to him the year prior. He explained that during the whole day, he had expected to get into ravenclaw or Gryffindor like their parents, but to his surprise, he had been assigned to Hufflepuff. “It was the worst night of the year, because I knew I had broken a chain of brains and bravery that night.”

When They finally got to the platform, Eloise waited impatiently to board the train. The excitement was only building, along with confidence, because though her brother had been sorted into a different house than everyone who came before him, she was confident that she would be sorted into Gryffindor. Shortly after, they boarded the train, and the pair was split up to find their own group of friends in each car.

Eloise came back to the present, Her nausea now replaced by the feeling of butterflies in her stomach, though she was still as confident as ever in being a Gryffindor. She listened quietly as headmaster Solomon Lear began his “Welcome to hogwarts” speech. As for the hat singing, she was unprepared for that. But, that didn’t stop her from bobbing her head along to the music.

Slowly but surely, names were called out and the other first years got sorted into their houses. And then came the moment Eloise was anxiously awaiting. "Whitmann. Eloise." Called Solomon Lear. Eloise walked on stage, and sat down as the sorting hat was placed on her head. The hat said nothing, but muttered to itself before calling out, "Gryffindor!" Eloise was ecstatic to have been sorted into The same house generations before her had been sorted into.
