So any advice for where to start? (As in which place to start roleplaying)

This is an easy start, the Sorting Ceremony. Otherwise many people start with them getting a wand at Ollivanders. You can look at what others do and take some inspiration from it. If you want to RP together with others, the Hogwarts Express is a great way to do so.
