@Avery grayGary skipped around the corridors of hogwarts. He had just woke up in the morning and decided to the explore the school which everyone calls magical. Gary was extremely curious about the other magical things in the castle besides the bubbly soup he drank during breakfast the previous morning and the hundreds of ghost he saw flying around in the great hall.
It was at that moment when he saw something crazy. He thought he saw a painting of an old lady with orange hair move. But when he turned to look at the painting everything seemed normal again. "Strange..."Gary said staring into the brown eyes of the old lady. But Gary was confident he saw the lady move. "He-llo?"Gary said as he poked the nose of the old lady In the painting.
The old lady turned around but did not respond. Gary threw himself backwards and immediately dashed away from the painting. He definitely did not enjoy the dumpscare the old lady gave him.
Gary continued to walk around hogwarts. He was still thinking about the old lady in the painting. Thoughts began to fill his mind. Who was she? Was she a ghost?
Gary stopped. His jaw dropped. Before him was an enormous field. Around it was sixteen colorful light house looking castles. On two sides of the field, there were also three sets of hoops.
Gary could not help but think of football at the sight of the field. This must be the game quidditch! he thought, remembering hearing some second year griffyndors talking about a game called quidditch where the players
Would ride on broomsticks which could fly.

Avery walked down to the pitch that early morning. Eager to get in some practice with her new broom before her team practice that afternoon. She wasn't going to make a fool of herself and crash her brand new broom in front of her entire team since she had never ridden her broom before. Though Avery didn't get embarrassed easily, just crashing in front of her teammates didn't sound like a great idea. She had to prove that she was strong. Determined. The best Seeker that she could be even if she had to sit half or even all of the game.

The pitch was empty and relief filled her. At least no one will be here to see my demise if my broom decides to go haywire. Avery thought to herself as she kicked herself into the air. Her crimson and gold robes swirling in the wind. Her hair softly flowing in its ponytail. She had meant to do braids that morning, but waking up later than she expected had exterminated that idea.

She didn't have her snitch that morning. Today wasn't the day for risk. Today was the day to learn. Learn the ways of her new broom and learn how to not crash or push herself to her breaking point. All she could hope for was that she didn't mess up. Especially if she ended up meeting someone like she always had.

Gary looked around. The stadium was extremely spacious but it was also kind of deserted. All there was was a blue book with a picture of a golden ball with wings on it Which had the words (QUIDDITCH THROUGH THE AGES)there was also a small peice of paper which had a signature lying on the book. But there was no sign of any living thing at all. Well...Gary could not ensure that anymore. He stuffed the book into his bag and continued to admire the scenery of the sunrise behind stadium.

At that moment, Gary noticed a tired looking girl who was in a long red uniform making her way towards pitch. In her left hand there was also a large wooden broom. Gary also noticed the Gryffindor badge perfectly sewed on the right side of the uniform.
Gary watched excitedly as he wanted to see If she was going to fly on the broom.
Gary stared at the red and gold uniform with admiration. He could almost imagine himself in the uiform holding a broom.
"She has to be a quidditch player!" Gary told himself.
Gary ran foward towards to the pitch waiting for the quidditch player to start flying on the broom. He gazed at the pitch, everything seemed perfect. The grass on the pitch perfectly green and the hoops all as shiny as gold. He was extremely curious on how the game was played and how many positions there were.
I think I have found my new PASSION! Gary thought.

Avery mounted her broom and kicked off into the air. Letting the wind tousle her hair without a second glance. All she had eyes for at the moment was her broom beneath her. She couldn't mess up. Couldn't repeat what had happened one of the first times Avery had ever attempted to fly a broom. She was a different person now, but pride always comes before the fall. That's why she was practicing.

The broom soared in the air smoothly as Avery flew. The ride was smooth. Smoother than any other ride she had done before. The speed was unmatched to her old school broom and her Nimbus 1001 she had used in her first ever Quidditch match. She couldn't wait to finally use the new broom for real! Practice was one thing, but soaring through the air in a real match was unparalleled.

That's when she noticed who she thought was a young first year watching her from nearby. His excitement evident on his face as she zoomed by. She gave him a small wave and smile before focusing her attention back on her goal of not falling off her new broom.

"One more lap. Then I'll go and talk to the young first year." Avery said to herself as she continued around the pitch. One more lap. Only one until she would finally meet another first year. She just hoped that she wasn't about to bother him by coming over for a chat. Avery had learned from experience that some people just liked to watch instead of talk.

Gary stared with admiration. The girl glided across the stadium on her broom.
It was a breathtaking view for Gary, he had never seen anything like that before. He was sure the reason the broom could fly was because of magic as something as heavy as a broom in the muggle world would not be able to fly so high.
Gary flipped the book he had picked up earlier open, the book was filled with pictures and different writings everywhere. A picture of a boy in an orange uniform riding on an enormous broom caught his attention.
The drawings did seem a little creepy to Gary.
At that moment, the slip of paper flew onto Gary's lap. He gingerly picked it up.
There was more than just a signature on it! Property of Hogwarts. Date: 5 Sep Time: noon Please do not touch if you are not the owner!
Gary immediately placed it where he found it. Hopefully the owner of the book won't come looking for me. He thought.
Just then he remembered that there was a girl flying on a broom above the stadium. He looked up to see how she was doing.
The girl was now getting ready to land.

Avery finally finished her final lap for the time being. Though she was saddened to stop riding, excitement filled her veins. She always loved to meet new people. Especially people that were as interested in Quidditch and how it worked like she was. Though she hadn't even played for a year, Avery had learned so much over her time spent on the Gryffindor team, and couldn't wait to share her knowledge!

She landed onto the stands gracefully. Well, as gracefully as she could while trying not to hit anything. Her landing was by far not her best work, but it did the job.

Once she had finally regained her bearings and dismounted her broom, Avery approached the young first year boy. A smile on her face when she realized he was a Gryffindor. Who knows. Maybe someday he'll fly for the team someday. He seems interested enough. Avery thought to herself as she approached him.

"Hi. I'm Avery. What's your name?" She asked kindly as she got a better grip on her broom.

She didn't know how the boy would react. Though he did seem interested in her laps, so maybe he would be willing to chat or even go out on a fly if he felt up to it? Avery had always enjoyed flying alongside aspiring players or even her fellow teammates. She would never forget the first time she had ever played against a Quidditch player as a little first year. That seemed like a lifetime ago. Before she had even signed up for the team.
