Date : January 25th, 2025 Color code : Written|Thought|Said “Whoa, what is this place?” Sere scanned the scenery in front of her. Today was Saturday and Sere decided to take a walk around the Grounds after lunch because her brain was burning from all the study materials in the first month after winter break that were speeding like a bullet train. She simply wore a white padding, a red knitted scarf, and black jeans with brown boots because the temperature on the day was pretty warm.
“I don’t think this is the Forbidden Forest.” Sere knew very well the prohibition to enter the forest that was attached to its own name. “Ah, right! Campgrounds.” She just remembered that Hogwarts had its own camp area. While considering whether or not she should go in and look around the Campgrounds, a squeaking sound came from behind her. Sere immediately turned her head and found a snow squirrel running from behind her. “Incredibly cute!” Sere immediately followed the squirrel.
For some time following the squirrel's fast tiny feet, Sere just realized that she had entered deep into the Campgrounds, then saw the squirrel climbed up a tree and disappeared among the branches decorated with melting snow-patterned ice. Her lips pouting for a second, she was about to leave the Campgrounds when she accidentally found a pieces of printed photo, still clean and new, lying on the ground. Her body bent down to take the photo and her eyes blinked as she saw the aesthetics depicted in it. "I didn't know the view from Gryffindor Tower could be this beautiful." She muttered, acknowledged the genius photographer.
Sere directed her gaze here and there curiously, "Did someone accidentally drop it here?" Not long after she caught a silhouette, a few distance away from her, of a cool-looking red-haired girl with a camera in her hand. Hiding her excitement, Sere carefully walked closer to the girl and saw her taking photos when she said, "Hi! Oh," Sere tilted her head to the right, recognizing the girl, "Linda, right? Gryffindor's Broom Racing Captain." She recognized Linda Ramirez from the eccentric red hair. Sere's hand reached out to show the photo she found, "Taking photos? Is this yours? Found You Through a Photo
Linda was looking through her things and noticed her camera. She didn't use it as much as she thought she would. Looking out from the Gryffindor tower, Linda decided to go to take some more photos.
Preparing herself and wearing white sweatshirt with black trousers and white boots, Linda grabbed her camera and went out. She took some earlier printed photos with her to compare places.
Making her way slowly to the campgrounds, Linda kept taking new photos and didn't realize when one of them fell out.
She stopped and was taking a new photo when she heard someone calling out to her. Turning her head to the direction of the voice, Linda saw a girl. Hi. Yeah, I'm Linda, broom racing captain. What about you? I think I saw you in duelling? Was she supposed to know the girl's name? Linda was unsure. Taking a look at the photo in Sere's hand, Linda realized that she must have dropped it accidentally. I didn't even realize I dropped it. Thank you for finding it. She spoke enthusiastically. I took a photo of it a bit earlier and today decided to finally take more. I love photography, but unfortunately this year I almost didn't touch my camera. Taking photo from the girl, Linda put it back in the pocket and made sure to not lose it again. Are you interested in photography? She asked curiously.

Date : January 25th, 2025 Color code : Written|Thought|Said "Sere... Sere Nade." The British-Korean girl nodded, "You're right, I'm one of the Gryffindor duellists." Sere let go of the beautiful photo from her hand as Linda took it back. A little reluctant because she actually wanted to look at it for some times longer.
"Almost a year without touching a camera? Why?" Sere was a little surprised, "Then, the picture earlier... Did you take it a long time ago? Or did you just take it before coming here?" Whatever the answer, it would feel unreal. If Linda had just taken it, it would be amazing considering the captain had not held her camera for such a long time; and if it had been taken a long time ago, she was definitely born with talent.
"I'm not talented in art," Sere shook her head and moved both of her hands in a 'no' sign, "I mean... any kind of art that I've ever tried," The girl seemed to think as she counted with her finger, "Drawing, painting, cooking, decorating cupcakes... Ugh, even making snowman." Sere scratched the back of her head. Linda would probably run away in fear if she saw her snowman that looked more like a landslide. "I don't remember being able to dance, sing, or play instruments as well--- Ah, I spilled myself too much." Sere laughed dryly.
She returned to the photography topic, "I've never tried photography either. Is it that hard?" The girl made a rectangular shape with both her thumbs and index fingers, framing the red-haired girl's face in front of her, "Are you taking pictures of people too? Or just taking pictures of nature?"

Found You Through a Photo
Linda was relieved to know that she recognized the girl. Sere. It was a nice name. I was focused more on other things. Drawing and guitar were taking most of the time. She chuckled. It's actually a mix. Some are done earlier, some are done just recently. Linda replied enthusiastically.
Taking photos was a peaceful moment and she enjoyed it. But it was easily missed as there was not that much to do here. Maybe she simply didn't know how to find more interesting things? It was a possibility as till now she kept following her routine, never breaking the rules.
Linda listened to Sere attentively and was surprised to find that all the things the girl said were the things she could do well. Maybe excluding the snowman. Did she ever try to make one? She wasn't sure. I'm good at most of those. I'm unsure about snowman though. Can't remember if I ever did it or not. She laughed.
Was photography hard? I don't think it's that hard. You could try. I could even help you if you need any help. Linda offered. Whether Sere would be willing to do it or not, Linda was ready for any answer. Mostly nature as I can't find someone to take photos of here. But I have some photos of people as well.

Well, leaving aside the point of making a snowman won't change the fact that she is a very creative person. Okay, I am jealous of her now. She admitted that, but that was not a gnawing jealousy, more like 'How can there be someone as talented as her in this world?' and 'Is there anything she can't do? Maybe she can do everything.' Linda was also very fun to talk to. Sere didn't feel the slightest awkwardness right now, not like what happened during some of her first interactions with other students, at Hogwarts and at her old school as well. The broom racing captain seemed to have a magnet that attracted her to talk further with her.
"You want to teach me how to take pictures with professional camera? Really?" Sere blinked a few times, feeling interested in the offer. "May I? I mean, if I may I'm interested in trying a shot or two using your camera. Only if you don't mind." Her palms were placed together in front of her chest.
"If I could take pictures of something, maybe I would take pictures of... Oh, that squirrel!" Sere approached Linda and whispered, "That little squirrel is the reason I'm here, far into the Campgrounds. I followed it all the way here. Isn't it so cute?" She saw the brown squirrel, white belly with a reddish spiky tail again. The cutest animal was now busy with its nuts, on the tree, on the right side not far from them. "Can you teach me to take a picture of it? I don't think it will notice us here." Sere asked, still half whispering.ReducioHere I attached the image of the squirrel!

Linda waited for Sere to reply, wondering what would follow this unexpected meeting. Soon, she thought the girl was a bit surprised, or maybe just didn't expect her words. Linda had no way to know exactly what Sere felt.
I mean sure. We are already here, with camera and relatively good weather, so why not? She smiled enthusiastically. Certainly it was going to be some fun.
Listening to the girl speaking about the squirrel and looking at the direction of the animal, Linda agreed with Sere. It was indeed cute. You'd need to visualize the image you want to have as a result. A good place to stand, I recommend you to try different angles until you find something you like. You can make it look closer or a bit far, try different modes to see what is best. And take a photo only after you got focus on the object, in this case it's squirrel.
Linda gave camera to Sere and waited to see what the girl would do. Surely she could find something great. Maybe she'd try angles that were unique. For some unexplained reason, Linda believed that Sere could do a great job. And anyway she was standing not too far. Any questions asked would get a quick answer from Linda.

Date : January 25th, 2025 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Sere grabbed Linda's camera carefully. She knew that someone's cherished possession could become a great deal in another's hands, in this case, this camera in her hands. Sere listened attentively to Linda's explanation and began to take pictures of the squirrel busy with the acorn in its hand. "Alright, let's try..." she muttered.
Sere did as Linda said, focusing her camera on the squirrel and zooming it to her desired distance. A single camera shot sounded as the Gryffindor pressed the shutter button in the upper right corner with her index finger. Then another sound signaled the girl had taken two photos. "Done for now," Sere lowered the camera from her face and looked at Linda. "How do we check the results? I mean, can we see the results immediately? Or we have to... ummm, I've heard something about 'developing films' on analog cameras, but I don't know how an analog camera looks like." Sere handed the camera -whether analog or not- back to the owner, but her right index finger, still resting on the shutter button, accidentally pressed it several times. "O-o-owh!" Sere immediately moved her finger away, "I'm sorry!"
When the camera was back in Linda's hands, Sere cleared her throat, "I don't think that was good enough. I'm not sure." The photo results are below reducio. The girl scratched the back of her head, "It was so hard to focus, zoom, and choose the right angle in the same time to get a nice photo."Reducio

Found You Through a Photo
Linda was looking at the squirrel and at Sere. She didn't feel nervous, giving her camera to the girl. Maybe it was a trust, or perhaps something else entirely. Either way she appeared to not care much about the camera.
Hearing Sere's questions Linda sighed. Being able to see photos on camera should feel so great. Unfortunately, a wizard's camera had no such function. They will need to be printed first with applying a special potion that makes them move. So we'll have to get them printed first to see the result, however I am sure it looks great. She replied with a smile. It's alright, don't worry. It would be interesting to see these accidental shots. Linda was always finding beauty in everything. Or at least she tried.
They will be moving anyway, so I believe they will turn out to be great. If you are interested in photography, I believe with some more trying you will find what is working best for you. It took me some time to learn to find how it'll be better, so whatever the result is, I am sure it's great for the first time. Light smile was on Linda's face and her voice was reassuring.
She still was keeping the first photo she ever took. It wasn't that good at all, blurry with a wrong angle. However in her eyes it was still priceless. The memory from that day was what she remembered and valued the most behind the first photo.
