It was another beautiful day at Hogwarts. Birds singing their hypnotic songs, the light of the sun bouncing off the surface of the water making the lake sparkle, and the sky was clear with the exception of a few fluffy clouds. A perfect day for Sylvie to sit outside and read a good book in her favorite spot. She walked over to the tree she usually sat under, sitting down and leaning against the trunk.  She flipped the book open to the place she had left off, which was close to the end of the book. She always was sad when a good book had ended, especially if she spent a lot of time reading it. It felt almost as if a void had opened up, waiting for a new book or something else to fill it.

Everything was calm and the mood felt perfect. Nothing there to disturb her. No one around as far as she could tell. As she read her heart started pounding. Something bad was happening to one of the characters she loved, and before she knew it, they were gone. She felt sadness, anger, confusion, and shock all at the same time as she read. This feeling resulted in a tear dripping down her cheek onto the page. The one tear was followed by more tears.

'Ugh, I hate when this happens...." Sylvie thought as she tried to wipe the tears of her face. She looked like a sad and angry puppy dog as she tried to get them to stop. Her tears sparkled like the water on the lake. After a long while of frustrated wiping, she decided to just let it happen. She closed her eyes, breathing in and out trying to calm herself down as the cold droplets continued to fall.

Airlia had been enjoying her day profusely when she was walking a trail through the grounds of Hogwarts. She saw people playing or trying out spells, but mostly it was nicely quiet. Since they had no classes that day Airlia felt free and happy to enjoy the freedom of outside. She was once again wearing one of her white summer dresses as the sun caressed her skin. She was wearing a huge summer hat that somehow managed to look both chic and goofy on her at the same time.

The truth of the matter is that her skin would burn easily in the sun, so she needed to shield herself from the rays and the hat definitely did it's part, casting a large shade over her arms.

She had bare feet as it made her feel closer to the world around her. More like she has a hold on her own life.

When she noticed a girl sitting under a tree in the shade with a book that somehow looked slightly familiar to Airlia she decided to approach. She knew this girl. She'd seen her around in some classes and knew the girl was a second-year just like Airlia. They were in different houses though as Airlia was a Hufflepuff and this girl was a Slytherin. No matter how hard Airlia tried she couldn't remember the girl's name. It started with an S and was on the tip of her tongue.

When Airlia noticed the girl was crying she seized. The bits and pieces she'd seen of this girl hadn't given her the impression that this girl would be much of a crier, in fact it seemed entirely out of character for her.

And so, set on making a new best friend; Airlia plopped down on the ground next to the girl; looked at her with big, wide and happy eyes as she wrapped her arms around the girl like a friendly sloth and said: "It's okay. No need to cry. I'm Airlia Winter and I'm gonna make you feel all better."

Everything had been quiet, and Sylvie was so focused on her book that she didn't notice the the crunching of the grass near here, and she was quite shocked when she felt someone wrap their arms around her body.
"It's okay. No need to cry. I'm Airlia Winter and I'm gonna make you feel all better."
Sylvie let out a small yelp from shock. "What the hell, who is this girl? She said her name was Airlia Winter? I think I've heard that name somewhere..." Sylvie wiped the tears from her face and looked the girl who had basically sneak attacked her. The girl's light blonde hair, light blue eyes, pale complexion and white clothing made her look like an angel... or maybe some sort of ghost. Sylvie couldn’t decide between the two. The Slytherin girl opened her mouth, but no words came out. She honestly didn't know what to say. The girl looked friendly, but this wasn't something she was used to. This was defiantly an odd greeting.

"I... Um, Hello?" She said, trying to wiggle our of Airlia's arms, her heart still racing. She felt a bit awkward being so close to someone she'd never really talked to. A personal space bubble seemed completely out of the question. Sylvie guessed she probably had a class with her or something since she'd heard her name before, but she couldn't remember this girl for the life of her. "I think she's a..... Hufflepuff? Yeah, that would make sense."

Sylvie closed her book after sliding the book mark in, and looked at the girl again. "Um, not to be rude or anything, but d-do I know you? Are we like, in a class together or something? Alse could you maybe let go?" Her cheeks were a bit pink from embarrassment. God, why did this girl have to come out then out of all times?

Airlia smiled happily as she held onto her new friend. This new friend was asking her to let go. Little did she know Airlia wouldn't until the girl would stop crying and admit that they'd become instant friends.

"A class together?" Airlia seized, she really wasn't going to let go so the excuse the girl was offering on a silver plate was perfect: "Yeah sure. Potions... Or something... Probably." She then smiled happily again.

"Either way I'm pretty sure I've seen you around and I am here to be your emotional support Hufflepuff aka your ☆Hufflebuddy☆." She said the last word with a flourish, almost stars shining in her eyes from joy.

Airlia loved making friends, and most people couldn't help but love her. She had all one needed to be a good friend; loyalty, huggability, kindness, and no brains. The last one seemed to be the most useful among Gryffindors.

She didn't consider herself to be a funny person, but for some reason when she'd open her mouth and say something that made sense to her, it turned out to be funny to others. I mean; what's so funny about saying all dementors really need is a good hug and that's why they get so close? Maybe if they'd had a hufflebuddy growing up they wouldn't be trying to suck out so many souls.

Airlia looked at the book in the girl's hands and asked: "Why were you crying? If it was the book I can destroy it for you if you'd like? I once burned my potions book in the bathroom because the light wasn't working. I could see for sure, but then I had no potions book. I'm sure my grades on it would have dropped but I already had a T on potions. And you can't get any lower than a troll."

On Airlia's part, 'stupid' wasn't enough to describe her state of intelligence, but the one thing that she was smart on was emotional intelligence. And she knew when people were sad distraction was key. And cuddles. But also rambling aimlessly seemed to draw people's attention away from whatever made them sad so when encountering a person crying; she'd just start talking and not stop until the other joined in on the conversation.
