The Art of Appearing to Slack Off
Just as he thought everything looked about right, Jack found himself shoved so hard he fell to the ground, scattering the papers everywhere. "Hey!" he yelled. "What was that for?" When he looked up, though, he was surprised to see the platinum blonde Slytherin girl looking at him with great disdain, a mix of anger and sadness saturating her features.
He blinked, unsure what was going on with her. First she couldn't stop smiling, now she was upset with him? Was it a delayed reaction from before when he had thrown the beans at her? Or had she just been pretending all this time to be okay so she could shove him after class when no one else was around to see her?
Confused and irritated, the redhead gathered up the papers and put them back before hurrying after Yseult. "What's the matter with you?" he demanded to know. "I was just checking our group's papers. Weren't you the one who wanted to make sure we got a good grade?" Sure, he may have been revealing that he cared more about his grades than he wanted people to know, but if that was what was required to sort out this misunderstanding, so be it. He wanted to get to the bottom of this.
"If you're mad at me because I threw those beans at you, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't think it would make you cry. I was just fooling around."

The Art of Appearing to Slack Off
Of course Yseult had been able to discover a little bit of incomprehension in the boy's look, but she did not want to take care of it, he was not deserving her attention at all. During the class, she had been kind enough, answering anyone's questions, helping as much as she could, but still, she was not ready to give her answers, especially to a fool who had done nothing during the hour but to annoy others.
While walking, she could her the snake behind her yelling, asking her why she had done that. It made the blond girl smile for a few seconds. She was glad of the repercussions of her behaviour, and congratulated herself when she heard the boy running after her. This time, at least, she was the only leader of the situation., and that idea pleased her a lot.
"What's the matter with you? I was just checking our group's papers. Weren't you the one who wanted to make sure we got a good grade?"
"Well, first of all, I wanted my house to gain points. Secondly, I did not want any of us to get into more trouble. And finally, I though you were nice."
Saying so, Yseult looked down, ashamed to realise what she had just said.
"If you're mad at me because I threw those beans at you, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't think it would make you cry. I was just fooling around."
"That is not the point Jack. I was mad at you because of this, but I thought it was just a way for you to be friendly, I thought you wanted attention."
She was loosing control another time, what was wrong with this guy ? Why couldn't she act normally when he was near ? It was just as if she needed to justify herself, to explain it all, to be... kind ?
"You are an idiot, you have always been and you will always be. Nothing more but an idiot" said Yseult with a strangely calm voice. "I understand nothing in relations, but I figured I could trust you, I have no idea of why I believed so. You are just like others. I don't get it.."
While saying so, Ysie kept walking, but she slowed down. Indeed, she already was late, she had no reason to hurry anymore. She listened to the boy's answer and replied.
"You know, when you apologised, when you gently asked if I needed any help, I hesitated, I asked myself if it was pity you had of if you were actually a good guy. I decided to trust you, and I got it all wrong."

The Art of Appearing to Slack Off
Jack raised a brow at the girl at her answers, unsure that any of them answered either of the questions he first posed to her. "Uh, yeah. I wanted our house to gain points, too. And why did you think I was nice? Because I threw beans at you?" He scratched his head, more confused than ever.
"Wait, why were you mad at me, exactly?" the boy asked. "Er...what did I do to make you think you couldn't trust me? I was just trying to help our group by making sure we all got the right answers. Did you think I was trying to put the wrong answers?"
The girl wasn't making sense to him. She was talking as if he had done something to betray her trust, but other than throwing the beans at her, he wasn't sure what she could have been talking about. It might have had something to do with his looking through the papers, but if she actually understood what he had been trying to do, he doubted she would have been so angry.
"Look," Jack said, trying to clarify things. "I was checking our group's papers before they were turned in to make sure everyone had gotten everything correct. Some of their answers were wrong, so I was fixing them. Did you have a problem with me doing that?"
