Hogwarts has been going amazing. But was Rusty was coming to the end of his first year, the homework was only getting worse... not better. With final exams coming up and everything, he had been working harder then ever. He had to get straight Os otherwise his family would not be very happy. He was the first Singer at Hogwarts since his father, and had to live up to his reputation. Rusty's father was the best in all his classes, and Rusty was to do the same.

It was a warm sunny day at Hogwarts. Everyone's classes had just gotten out for lunch, so the grounds were flooded with students coming to the Great Hall. Rusty walked with his friends to the Great Hall, with his back breaking because of all the heavy books in his backpack. Why couldn't he learn useful spells in Charms class? Like, for example, a spell to make his bag lighter?!

Once Rusty and his friends reached the Great Hall, they put their stuff down at the end of the Slytherin table. All of his friends started to pull different kinds of amazing foods onto their plates, but Rusty was stressed. He had an essay for Defense Against the Dark Arts that was due the very next period, but he wasn't even nearly finished. Rusty bit his finger nails while watching his friends eat their lunches, until he eventually decided to pull out his essay and continue it at the lunch table.

Rusty read the prompt for his essay at the top of the paper. It said that he had to describe the difference between ghosts and the living.

Seems easy enough.

The ghosts and the living were extremely different. And since Rusty grew up around ghosts in his mansion, he knew enough about them already. Rusty continued scribbling away at his parchment while eating and drinking. He tried to block out the loud talking of the boys sitting to the left of him, but it was extremely difficult. The boys kept shouting and screaming, and laughing super loud over the dumbest things.

Nothing can possibly be that funny.

Rusty tried to continue his homework but it felt almost impossible with the screaming childish boys next to him. Eventually he got so fed up he lifted his head up and turned towards them, and hit is drink of apple juice.

The cup spilled all over his parchment and he felt terrible. Although the essay topic wasn't really that difficult, he had spent the past entire lunch period working on it. And it was due next class! He barely had enough time to finish it and he knew that his professor would not accept soggy work.

Rusty looked up at the boys who were laughing even louder now and shouted:

Would you lot shut it?!! Some of us are trying to work!

Rusty picked up his soggy essay and crumpled up the paper. He looked at the wild boys next to him and said

Thanks a lot.

While he knew that it technically wasn't their fault, he still felt frustrated with them for being so loud and stupid. Rusty always felt that the children his age were immature and annoyed him. He always wished he was older so he wouldn't have to be in the same year as these idiots.

Rusty grabbed his book bag and left the great hall. He sat down in the corridor outside and pulled out another sheet of parchment paper. Rusty tried to recall everything that he had written down on his previous essay but was not very successful. He had to take out his text book again and start from scratch. Fortunately, as he read, the essay started coming back to him. He started scribbling down feverishly while constantly checking his watch, as it was almost time for his next class, Defense of the Dark Arts. Finally, Rusty was finished. It wasn't as long or detailed as he wished it would be, but hopefully it would suffice. He scribbled his name at the top of the essay and smiled to himself.
