A Little Color Never Hurt

It felt weird to be back inside the tall walls of Hogwarts after everything that had happened last year.
Just a few months ago Azzure couldnt have anticipated the hardships she'd have to traverse, the nightmares she would plagued by—honestly, if she had learned anything in these past few months it would be that change doesn't here come easy or kind. It can be as cruel as fire and as quick as a freefall.
And yet here she was now, standing in the girls bathroom with a box of blue hairdye at her side, because amongst the turmoil of life—this was one change she could control.
Azzure furrowed her brow as her eyes scanmed the back of the box of hairdye. Although she did want to make a statement—and quite frankly, hairdye was the easiest way to do that.
However now... Azzure quickly realized she had no idea what she was doing. Even as she went over the instructions of the hundreth time and began to mix the colorant and the... 'other-ingredient-thingy-thats-also-important-that-she-totally-knew-how-to-spell-and-pronounce.'
Azzure sighed out in frustration, setting the little bottle of dye on the counter as she pinched her nosebridge—regretting all her life choices that brought her to this point.
But im the midst of her frustrated self-reflection Azzure hadn't noticed that she wasnt alone in the girls bathroom.

Paris darted into the bathroom as quietly as she could, hoping her pursuer wouldn't hear. She supposed she deserved it for skipping out of History of Magic, but Peeves wasn't exactly an enticing alternative to sitting through the history of goblin wars.
Her ear pressed to the door, Paris waited until she heard Peeves' cackling laugh rush past the door before relaxing. It would probably be safe to leave now, but she decided an extra couple minutes couldn't hurt.
Paris turned and leaned against the door, her eyes shut. After running for at least five minutes, she could use a moment to simply breathe. Suddenly becoming aware of another presence in the bathroom when she heard a sigh, Paris turned the corner and saw a girl, standing at one of the sinks with an open box of hairdye and its contents strewn about the counter.
Paris took a step closer, her eyes narrowed. The hydrogen peroxide-colourant mix looked a little strange. The shade on the box doesn't match the mixture... she has too much developer in there. I wonder, has she ever dyed hair before? Paris remembered her own first attempt to dye her hair. It was... eventful to say the least. To say the most (long story short), her supposed-to-be-pink-but-turned-out-a-weird-mauve hair got severely damaged and she had to cut over 15 centimetres. It was rather awful.
Paris wanted to help, but what if she came off to eager? Too impatient or bossy or aggressive? She could easily recall several instances when she would be reprimanded back at home for snapping or becoming agitated at her younger siblings when they didn't understand things as quickly as Paris did. Why would this be any different? What if the girl hated her?
But what was worse, possibly being too earnest and passionate, or this girl ruining her hair and being stuck with it forever? (Okay maybe forever was an exaggeration, but still. A long time.) Paris took a deep breath and walked up behind the girl, purposefully stepping a little louder than usual to announce her presence.
Best to start off simple, she decided as she came up next to her. "Hey, um... do you need any help?" Paris thought her hair would likely make it obvious as to what she was referring to, and hopefully it showed that her opinion was a qualified and experienced one.

It simply isn’t an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons.

A Little Color Never Hurt
In the girl's bathroom, many a thing can be expected. One can find an owl, a crowd of girls talking, students secretly brewing potions, and once or twice, the girls are actually there to use the toilet!
...Of course, that wasn't Anna's case. She was hidden in the last stall of the bathroom because she wished to have some alone time with her plushy penguin, but the majority of the school was crowded, but she thought maybe the bathroom would be alone. After about 30 minutes of talking to herself and to Aoibheann (this is the penguin's name, only she knows how to pronounce it), she decided it was enough of alone time--She felt at ease enough to go search for someone to bothertalk. So she hugged the plushie with one arm, and opened the door of the last stall of the bathroom, just to find a girl in it. It'd be quite the regular situation, there's nothing wrong in a girl being in the girls' bathroom. The issue was that one of them had a weird mixture next to her, and it didn't look like a potion Anna could identify, and she had read the Potions textbook from cover to cover more times than she could count. That girl looked different from most people the hufflepuff had seen, save for a single slytherin she spoke to one time, but that was last year. However, that curious and fascinating difference was not enough to distract Anna from what concerned her the most:
—What the heck are you doing?—She asked loudly, her high-pitched voice breaking the silence in the room.
That's when she noticed, there was another girl in the bathroom, too. Hadn't Anna seen her somewhere? In the common room, or had it been the house table?... Actually, it didn't matter. She looked up to that girl's eyes and waved with her free hand.

Azzure was midway between wallowing frustration and mental breakdown, when suddenly she heard footsteps echo in from behind her.
‘shit’ she thought. The last thing Azzure needed today was asocial interaction, and yes, perhaps a public bathroom for all the girls in Hogwarts wasn’t exactly the most secluded place–– but at the same time, when you’re in am institution where an 11 year old kid can set fire to the common room if they’re having enough of a bad day; no place is truly secluded.
Azzure took a deep breath, getting ready to bolt past the girl for the door, but before she could even take one step, the girl called out to her, her voice ringing slightly in the otherwise barren bathroom. “Hey, um... do you need any help?” Azzure looked up at the sound of the girl’s voice. In the light of the mirror, Azzure saw a girl with extremely colorful hair, her voice sweet as honey as she spoke. She looked like the personification of some sweet caramel candy.
The girl couldn’t have been a any older than Azzure, but something about the way she spoke told Azzure that perhaps, she should give this girl a chance. Azzure spinned around to address the girl who quite literally looked like a piece of candy, but before she could speak, she heard a loud shriek come from behind her. The sound caused her to jump.
Azzure whipped around to see a rather lively Hufflepuff girl. This new girl had energy radiating of off her. with enthusiasm so palpable it felt like being next to a small puppy with enough energy to run 5 laps around the circumference of the globe.
“uhm.. hi?” Azzure spoke addressing the two with an uncharacteristic shyness and a voice thats entirely too soft for comfort. For all the time she’s spent last year throwing herself into danger, this pathetic display of girlish shyness wasn’t was how she wanted these people to know her for.
‘what’s in the damn air today?’
“Uhm... did both of you decide to piss at the same time? or–– I don’t think I entirely understand what’s going on here.” Azzure questioned, her brow furrowing slightly as she stepped to the side in a futile attempt to hide the box of hair dye.
