The Ravenclaw Table 2019 -2020
Sen shifted, uncomfortable at all the chatter. He was seated at the near end of the long table, close to the grand doors, yet there were still other people here. Many others, of whom he didn't wish to join their conversation.
He decided to focus on his food, wondering why he was so nervous. Well, everyone was making friends here. He didn't really need them so why was he so uncomfortable?
He remembered what the hat said, that first years almost always find their lifelong friends. Or at the very least, the friends they stick with throughout the seven years at Hogwarts.
"I mean, it isn't like that's impossible, they have owls to deliver their mail. They have the... The floo? Yeah, the floo network, all these crazy things..." He muttered, stabbing the mashed potato harshly. Sen clenched his fists, then unclenched them, repeating that a few more times.
He glanced around the table, wondering if anyone has seen his inner turmoil yet, or if anyone had heard his muttering. No, no one.
He sighed, what was he expecting? And he proceeded to ignore all the talk. Focus on the food. He repeated to himself. Stop getting so worked up over nothing.

'Damn,' he thought, 'all I wanted was to go back to sleep but no, of course not.'
"You know, the human race may be the smartest animals but they're also the dumbest," he said blandly with a deadpan.

The Ravenclaw Table 2019 -2020
Sparrow was sitting at the table, trying to enjoy her meal, when she couldn't help but notice how worked up someone seemed to be next to her. On her own plate she had the mediocre meal of mashed potatoes, corn, some strange meat, and a glass of water. Plain and simple, just how she liked it. It was meant to be eaten quickly without delay but then her fellow housemate decided to ruin it for her.
She glanced sideways and then turned her head all the way, stopping mid-chew. The boy was muttering to himself, things that were unintelligible at first because Sparrow hadn't been paying attention but now she could tell that he was nervous about something. She felt bad for him; was being a first year really that stressful to some people? Honestly, Sparrow found the entire thing quite boring; who cared for the school that much to get bothered over it to the point of talking to themselves?
Sparrow was genuinely curious, she wanted to know what was to be worked up about. The only exciting part had been the Sorting Ceremony, where she was sorted into the house she'd be in for the next seven years, Ravenclaw. She was glad to be wearing blue, instead of the yellow like her brother and the red like her sister. Had father had been a Slytherin while Sparrow got into Gryffindor.
The boy sighed and Sparrow chose then to speak, looking him over. “Are you okay..?” She sounded a little annoyed, but she was actually a bit concerned, since he was sitting so close to her.

Charlotte's face filled with a wide smile, as if Liam had passed a test of sorts in not answering her direct question. She watched him swirl his soup and after deciding with gusto that she liked him, she replied with confidence, "I'm Charlotte. Charlotte Harrington. But my friends call me Lottie. Well, they did.", she added on with a self-conscious smirk. "Don't have too many of those now." She glanced at Liam's full can of butterbeer.
"You're allowed to drink butterbeer? My dad says it's bad for me." Charlotte gazed at the various butterbeers around her from the other students and reached for her pumpkin juice. Her brain switched gears again, as it often did with no seeming connection.
"So, Liam Bennett, what class are you looking forward to the most? Cause I'm most excited about Charms. My dad says I'll have a knack for it, because I've got 'spunk' (here she put the word in air quotations, rolling her eyes dramatically) but I also think Defense Against the Dark Arts should be fun." What she was most excited about was, well, aside from the library, was flying. Her dad had flown with the grace of a troll, so she hoped she had inherited her mother's deft physicality. She had daydreams about being on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, miraculously beating Gryffindor, her brother's face torn between pride and heartbreak. Her eyes came back into focus as she snapped out of her thoughts, giving Liam her full attention.

Spotting the girl’s spontaneous hearty grin, Liam counteracted with a smile back. Liam was befuddled- he never knew butter beer even had a malignant side; he couldn’t help but wonder what was so bad about it. His dad has never even introduced him to the sweet beverage after all. Maybe it impeded your senses like real beer- in a twisted way he hoped so. After the brief introduction of her sobriquet, and the shocking prohibition of butter beer for her, Liam decided to offer his rebuttal.
“I’ll call you Lottie then, if I may. It’s nice to meet you, and there’s no need to feel too bad about your friends though- I’m on the same boat!
Liam did his best to accentuate the saying with his grin- trying to come off as somewhat jovial. She seemed nice, and Liam didn’t want to sound to presumptuous calling her Lottie.
However, May I ask why you can’t drink bitter beer? I’m kind of new to all of this, so I don’t really know all of the ropes. Should I not be drinking it?
Proceeding her brief and courteous query about the classes, Liam realized them at he didn’t really know. He knew which ones weren’t something he would be intrigued by, but he couldn’t precisely pinpoint his favorite.
Hmmmm....I haven’t really put much thought into it. After initiation, I had different things to think about at the time. If I had to choose, I guess it would be....... Defense Against The Dark Arts. The kind of thing they teach in there sounds riveting. Plus, it’ll never hurt to know how to defend yourself.
Liam presumed this was a solid response to her question; it was the best answer he could muster on short notice. Charms, Potions, and Defense Against the Dark Arts struck him as the most enthralling subjects.

Stifling her disappointment about not being sorted into Slytherin, Ceris straightened out her shoulders, lifted her chin slightly, and continued on her way to Ravenclaw with a slight uptick of her lips.
'There's absolutely nothing wrong with Ravenclaw. This house is in your blood, as well, so there's no reason to hesitate!'
Striding towards the side of the seemingly endless table that has more than just one space empty, Ceris promptly sat on the bench after smoothing her robes down so as not to crush and wrinkle them underneath her. She then looked down at her side to her satchel, unclasped the straps, and reached in, pretending to rifle for something as she glanced around at her new housemates.
'Everyone seems so happy to be here. Though that could be the general excitement of being a part of something bigger than themselves, or the idea of how much knowledge they can attain at such a lauded school.'
After taking quick, seemingly mindless glances along the entirety of the table, she clasped her bag back up and grasped the utensil of the serving dish directly in front of her. After seeing it was smashed potatoes, she went back for another scoop and spontaneously asked the girl next to her if she could pass the roast platter.
After loading her plate with the bare food groups she would consume before allowing herself to partake in dessert, she was quite satisfied in where that clever sorted her. After all, true knowledge is not in the isolation of the houses themselves, but in the overall sanctity of the castle and its occupants.

Looking around nervously, Arienna went to get her food. All of the commotion that filled the great hall was making her not be able to think correctly and thinking correctly was the backbone of the Ravenclaw girl's sanity. "Why do they all talk so much?" she muttered to herself as she looked for an empty seat.
She finally found one and carefully took a seat, checking that it was clean before she sat down. The food had been put out on the table and her stomach was growling so she helped herself to some food which looked delicious. 'A good meal was always good for the soul' she reminded herself of her mother's words as she began to eat.
As she ate, she looked around the room and noticed all of the different features of the great hall from the long tables and the students sitting at them to the paintings on the walls. This was Hogwarts, it looked so incredibly surreal to her, almost as if it were a dream. She had imagined the place since she was a baby when her parents would tell her stories of their experiences at Hogwarts, from classes to adventures. It captivated her from the very beginning and now there it was, right there around her.

Lottie's heart swelled as Liam grinned back, and once again as Liam called her Lottie. It was the most familiar sound in the most unfamiliar place. The accompaniment of his grin made her feel at ease amongst the older students, the floating candles, waving banners, and shifting of humanity around her.
...Should I not be drinking it?
"Well my dad says beer can make you, (here she lowered her voice conspiratorially and muttered) drunk, but my mum says it's more like ginger beer and it's okay if I drink it. It still makes me nervous, though." She eyed Liam's butterbeer with an adorable amount of caution, and after shrugging and completely whooshing the thought away, returned her attention to Liam's statement of the classes he was most looking forward to.
"I do suppose defense will be rather important...you never know when you'll need it." Her eyes narrowed as she remembered her parents' stories of previous altercations. They used to give her nightmares, although she would never admit to it. She wanted to be prepared, to be a hero and learn as much as possible before anything else could go wrong in the Wizarding World.
"We should study together sometime once classes start! But before that, I'm excited to see our common room. My brother's told me Gryffindor's is very cozy...I wonder what Ravenclaw's looks like..." She imagined sculptures, a mini library, and wide windows.
"I don't believe I've asked where you're from! I'm from Derbyshire. It's definitely more of a Muggle town." Charlotte had left her food untouched by now, too busy thinking and blabbering to get distracted with something as trivial as shepherd's pie.

Now that Colt was out of the sorting ceremony he was out of the stress of everyone staring at him. So he tried to clear his mind but with all of the talking going on that was practically impossible. After that, when he looks at the tables he found what looked like the best food in the world, there was chicken everything, potatoes, sushi, hamburgers, onion rings, lasagna, noodles everything, basically every noodle type in the world, a lot of seafood, rice, beans, Ect. There were so many foods to choose from, he just simply just wanted to try it all but before he started to eat he glances at the sorting hat one last time, thanked it in silence and watched it being put away only to come back out for one day again every year. Then he ate what he got and he continued to eat till he l could only eat a little bit more. He ate burgers, yogurt, eggs, bacon, and a lot more food. Then after a while (which seemed like forever) The tables flipped over and there was dessert. There were huge cakes, pies, chocolates, huge tubs of ice cream, and a lot more. Then after that everyone got up and probably went t the other side of the tables because they probably thought that the other side was better than the side that they were on. Then after everyone was done eating the table flipped again but this time there was no food. Then everyone went to there dorms to rest or talk to others.

After Ainsley was sorted she walked over to the Ravenclaw table with a smile. This is happening I'm a Ravenclaw like both my parents. Plus this is Hogwarts for god sake the most amazing school for witch craft and wizardry. I'm gonna make so many new friends and go on fun adventures and most importantly learn and becoming as intelligent and knowledgeable as I can. Ainsley grabbed an apple off the table and began eating it as she looked around the room in awe. No words could describe how she was feeling.
Ainsley had never been more excited in her whole life. She took in all the colors and the atmosphere of the Great hall. This was just one of the most exquisitely astonishing rooms of Hogwarts. Though she was dying to check out the library. She looked around at her fellow Ravenclaw house members and smiled excitedly. As she attempted to find something to say all she could get to come out of her mouth was , 'Wow this is astounding, please let it be real." . She spoke quietly but not so quiet no one could hear. She smiled and a nervous rush overwhelmed her. She was at Hogwarts for realzies this time. It wasn't just a dream or a story it was real.

The Ravenclaw Table 2019 -2020
How extraordinary! Sage thought to herself as she walked through the Great Hall after finally arriving at Hogwarts, a place she never knew existed until a few months ago. Excitement coursed through her veins, but also anxiety as she sat underneath the Sorting Hat. When she had gotten her books, she decided to read the one about history. She read about all of the houses and after reading them she had hoped to be put in Gryffindor, but after being sorted into Ravenclaw she began to change the way she thought.
After sitting down at the Ravenclaw table, slightly shaking due to being new and not knowing anybody, she ate a bit of food to calm her nerves. She definitely felt like she stood out from everyone else; with her fiery red curls and her blue eyes. However, her thoughts were interrupted when she looked up in awe. The ceiling! It looked like the sky and had floating candles! She had read about it in her books but never thought it to be real or possible. "I think I'm gonna like it here" She said to herself with a wide smile as she looked back down at her plate and continued to eat a bit more. Anyone nearby who heard her might not be able to hear what she said since she had two different accents. But anyone paying attention would be able to hear what she said. She wondered what sort of classes she would be starting out with, and she was determined to get along with all of her professors and to work hard on her homework and study as much as she could.
Sage was a bit shy and so she didn't feel like speaking to anyone just yet unless they approached or spoke to her. If anyone did, she would try to smile and be friendly since that's just who she was. She took a sip of juice from her cup and continued to look at all the different kinds of kids in here and people sitting at the teacher's table. Recognizing the head of her house, she waved at him. Whether he could see her or not she was unsure. He was a busy man, that she was sure of, most likely to busy to realize a first-year Ravenclaw waving at him.
Either way, she continued to eat for a bit and then finished and let out a full huff. Her stomach hurt from all the good food she'd seen and eaten, it still looked so good she wanted to continue eating. She knew her limit though and decided not to keep eating, she didn't want to get sick her first day here.
