TW: this thread will discuss depression in some capacity. This is not a light read, this is bai learning to cope with her sadness and with loss, and the void that this loss has left within her and her dread that this feeling will only get worse with time + the more ppl she looses.

hi friends
this is @kim sato getting to see bai + her new mood + her new haircut for the first time. He has NO clue that anything happens cause my girl bai went depressio and didn't tell anyone, so no one but her direct family knows she's struggling... until now.
If anyone is reading this and is interested in helping me explore bai's sad side/ how she explains it to others (ESP if your character knows her already) pls DM or owl Me

The Train Back To Hogwarts
Bailey hugged her brothers and her parents one last time, before stepping through the wall. Seeing the scarlet train with the billowing grey smoke evoked no emotions from her, which was unusual. Her complete lack of emotion, the empty void that filled her, all of these were unusual for bailey. She walked to the train, with her things, not stopping to say hello to any of the many familiar faces she passed. Anyone who saw bailey would do a double take - her short hair, her dark clothes, her somber mood and sad and slightly angry face, anyone would be able to tell something was wrong. Normally sunshine embodied, this was NOT bailey's MO; sure it would be around the entire school in a matter of days, bailey could not muster enough energy to care.
Stepping onto the train steps, bailey didn't even bother to glance back behind her like she had every other year. Her bag over her shoulder and her trunk with her, she made her way to the first empty compartment she found. Sticking her trunk on the shelf, she plopped down in one of the seats by the windows and set her bag down next to her.
Smoothing the black skirt she wore, pared with a black silk top, black tights and her black boots, bailey pulled out her reading glasses (a very minor prescription, to help with the headaches she got from (a) reading so much and (b) her stress and depression).
Also pulling out a book, a muggle one by the name of Saving Italy by Robert M. Edsel, and a pen, bailey opened it and started reading. She had begun reading muggle history this summer, after she lost her grandmother. It was a way of helping her feel connected to her muggle roots, that connected her with her grandmother who she no longer had a physical earthly connection to.
Bailey stayed here reading, until someone opened the door. Even knowing the door had been opened, she didn't have the energy or mental capacity to look up and see who it was; not even the familiar voice triggered her happiness; bailey stayed reading her book, minding her own business as this other person entered the compartment.
we are all born beautiful. it is a tragedy we are convinced that we are not”
