15/09/2025, Hogwarts LibraryElisa felt a mixture of bewilderment, incredulity, and sheer fury rising from inside her chest. How dare someone set two live bludgers free in a library? A library was supposed to be a sacred place, where readers could delve into fictional realms and explore knowledge otherwise far beyond their reach. A library was supposed to be quiet and serene, somewhere people could go to forget the reality of the world to sink into the comforting company of books. Every library was at least that, not to mention this library. Hogwarts' library was home to ancient volumes, pages withholding centuries of knowledge within them. They were the ties to the past and the present, linking the two with frail, yellow strings, binding the fragile pages of parchment togeth-
Crash.
Elisa's head jerked up, almost falling from her seat from surprise. Her eyes widening and her mouth falling wide open as a shelf of books began tumbling down in a mess of torn parchment and splintered covers. Suddenly spells were everywhere. To her absolute horror, she recognised from her numerous duelling practices the fire-making spell, and out of the corner of her eyes she caught a swish of red hair... She could've sworn the girl was laughing, but what Elisa felt was far from that.
She was almost imagining all those precious volumes burning into smoulders of ash and was rummaging, panic-stricken, for her wand when she noticed the spell hadn't hit after all. What happened after that, however, was not so lucky.
Out of nowhere, the redhead began dancing weirdly, her face contorted between bursts of laughter and agony. A petrificus totalus was cast, striking a bookshelf and causing, to Elisa's absolute terror, more precious books to collapse in an unceremonious heap to the floor. Meanwhile, it seemed that the creator of all this chaos, a little first year with a mane of bushy blond hair, was much delighted by the situation - and she was whizzing around on a broomstick. As though everything couldn't get worse, a poor girl on her way out was hit by one of the bludgers...
Elisa's mind was a whirlwind of panic. Without thinking, she waved her wand in the air, wishing all those dummy-hitting sessions in the duelling room had paid off, she muttered a hurried "Bullarum Immortalem" on the first bludger she saw. The third year wished that she had done the right thing - she had seen what the full-body binding curse had done to the bookshelves - she would not be risking that.
So hectic was this mess that had become the library that Elisa hadn't even noticed the ink that had spilled all over her parchment, dripping in quiet drops on her newly washed robes.

Oonagh understood quite quickly that this whole ordeal would quickly draw attention, so she felt well within her right to enjoy the drama while it was able to last. Drama that she had accidentally caused, but would definitely consider repeating intentionally in the future. Maybe she should release it in a classroom or the headliner office next time!
That one girl, red hair and a wild attitude @Novalie Moon was just straight up crazy, which was right up Oonagh's alley and she appreciated not being the only interesting person in the library at the moment. However she also seemed way too reliant on her magical stick to get things done, which to Oonagh also equated to a different kind of boring. Why not get in there and deal out a couple of punches?
However the girl seemed to have had a different idea entirely, targeting the unsuspecting guy the redhead had dubbed "short king".

The "short king" however, would not allow her to take such measures, happy with the size of his head and now seeking to avenge his honor in an attempt to take down the girl who had dared to cast such a spell his way, when the real issue, the bludgers, were still wreaking havoc almost unbothered!
So of course the boy felt justified to retaliate!

So much for revenge, maybe the boy @Harvey Barrows ought to work on his aim some more. Missing her way kind of embarrassing thought Oonagh, considering that the girl was quite stationary due to the embarrassing dance she was dancing.
The other girl @Livia Machavariani decided to threaten the redheaded girl and then once more targeted the Bludger, which, fair enough. "That ol' spell again? Thir the only spell ye know o'?" She threw at the girl, but watched as the effect took place.

Oonagh snickered, when the wand of the girl sent some sparks that quickly died, like a very sad firework that did not get to go off. "An' tha' is why Ah wad rather punch things," she gloated.
One bludger (B) had a better idea and went after Livia, avenging its friend who had been the target of the girl.
Acc: [d10] + 9 = 19
Eva: [15] + 10 = 25
However the girl was apparently able to jump out of the bludgers way. "Yer fast!" Oonagh congratulated the girl on avoiding an issue the girl was only in because of Oonagh. Maybe Oonagh herself should get involved as well!
The other bludger (A) however would not be safe from becoming a target either, as a different girl was drawn to the mayhem.

And joining the mayhem she did, by producing a bunch of soapy bubbles that filled up the room. NOVALIE MOON! ✩
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
After Novalie had suggested that he could have just asked her to dance with him instead of putting a spell on her, the boy @Harvey Barrows snapped back that he’d rather dance with a troll, punctuated with a sharp word that rolled strangely off his tongue. What was that? Spanish? The redhead couldn’t speak anything but English, but she’d heard enough from friends back home with different backgrounds to recognize familiar sounding words - or so she believed. As the cramps in her legs finally began to ease (thank god), she relaxed her arms and replied with a bright, genuine smile, “¡Quiero patatas fritas!”* What did it mean? She had no idea. But Novalie had noticed one of her friends say it to his mother surprisingly often, so it had to be something affectionate. Being very confident that the short boy had complimented her just now, even if she didn’t understand the words, the thought was what mattered and she was all for it. Plus, his troll comment? Oh, how she agreed. Dancing with a troll would be the experience of a lifetime! They were enormous, weren’t they? Imagining the way they could swing someone around like a doll, or stomp the rhythm into the ground. Pure joy. Short King was definitely a hidden genius, a hidden gem. Quite literally so, seeing as her Engorgio attempt had sadly missed him, leaving him small. Before she could try again, she noticed him raise his wand however. His lips moved, and then he cast Flipendo. The jinx fizzled into the air harmlessly, making Novalie’s eyes follow its path, curiosity sparking inside her. Had a bludger been near her without her noticing? Had he tried to scare it off to protect her? The Metamorph's grin widened, her expression softening into something almost tender. “Aww... you’re so considerate! Let’s be, like, best friends, yeah?” She could imagine it vividly already - the two of them sneaking off to the Forbidden Forest at the dead of night, learning troll waltzes under the moonlight, heavy rain pouring down on them, turning chaos into a wild art form. He - wait, hold on. What even was his name? The Ravenclaw wanted to ask, though her gaze snagged on another figure. There was this dark-haired girl @Livia Machavariani who had earlier tried to cast Petrificus Totalus. Their eyes met through the mess and floating parchment. Novalie couldn’t really make out what she said through the din of destruction, but the words sounded like a... warning? Leave, before things get worse? Novalie’s grin spread ear to ear. Everyone was so nice today!! Sure, the girl's choice of spell had been questionable (Petrificus Totalus, again?), but the Ravenclaw wasn’t the type to judge. Maybe sometimes boring spells hid brilliant minds. Or something. At least she had a hunch this one did. “It's okay, don't worry about me!”, Novalie smiled. Suddenly, the redhead witnessed a different girl @Elisa Wagner unleashing a flurry of cute bubbles, turning the scene into a shimmering wonderland of destruction. Novalie gasped in delight. This was art! This... was community!! So many fantastic ideas bouncing around, and she just ought to keep up. Her head raced with possibilities - fireworks with red and green sparks, a fresh attempt at Engorgio, maybe even a bit of snow to add flair to everything... No. There was something more important right now. She launched herself into a cartwheel, rolling toward Short King and attempting to land right beside him. Whether he backed away or held his ground, she would lean in, eyes bright with manic sincerity. “First!”, Novalie declared, pointing her crooked wand at him with a flourish, “We need to work on your self-esteem or whatever it is that makes you hold back!” Hoping that the following spell would help him to not evade her spells accidentally anymore, she grinned, “Anathema Daphnis!” |

15/09/2025, Hogwarts LibraryIt was only when the dark blue ink had soaked all the way through her robes to stain Elisa's pale skin with small bluish puddles when she noticed it. First alarmed at the wet feeling in her lap and then upon realising it was spilled ink, exasperated, Elisa quickly rightened the inkwell. In all this mayhem she had forgotten to close the lid of the little glass bottle, and had probably managed to knock it over without realising. Disgusted at the stain that was spreading, conspicuous even against the black of her robes, Elisa momentarily forgot about the bludgers - until a big translucid bubble floated into her vision field.
Recognising it from the spell she had cast herself, she looked up and to her dismay, saw that the cloud bubbles were not affecting the bludgers at all. She had learnt that when cast in duels, the bubbles could affect the target's mobility... perhaps bludgers were built with an anti-cheat system to prevent quidditch players from casting spells on them?
Shaking her head slowly in disbelief, Elisa found herself subconsciously squeezing the drenched ink from her robes, except - a groan escaped her mouth. Her hands were now covered in a layer of dark blue ink. She quickly wiped it off on a spare sheet of parchment, but a blue stain remained at her palm.
Somewhere close, a bludger knocked into a shelf and books came tumbling down once again. The library was a mess. Elisa's first instinct was to cast periculum and seek help from adults - heavens sake where was the Librarian - but figured it might as well set the whole place on fire.
Emerging from behind her desk, she resulted to fix whatever damage she could. A 'reparo' was muttered with her wand pointed at the broken shelf, before bending down to retrieve a few scattered books to stack carefully on a desk. How did Quidditch players manage bludgers? In any case, Elisa was convinced to never ever try Quidditch in her whole entire life. She did not ever want to have to cope with those stiff black balls again.

A crackle of arcane energy would fly past Harvey as he stepped aside just in the nick of time. His eyes would widen as the realization dawned on him. For the first time in his young life another person had aimed a spell at him with ill intent and it lit a fire in his belly that would not soon extinguish. The words from Livia only bolstered his confidence. This was what their magical training was all about. Harness your talents, perfect your magic, define your allies and carve out your place in the world. The wild redhead might not actually mean him harm, but she would firmly earn her place on Harvey's shit list!
The boy would have to thank Livia later for her support, but for now there were multiple threats that needed to be dealt with. Harvey took aim and fired! It would turn out that his redheaded nemesis was quite agile, even while busting a move. He gritted his teeth in frustration as his spell miss point blank. Hopefully Livia didn't see his blunder! Harvey did his best to remain focused as more spells and bludgers continued to wreak havoc on the library and he vowed to turn his attention to the flying blonde as she began to berate Livia. But first things first! "You're no friend of mine!" Harvey said as he attempted to back away from the girl now cartwheeling towards him. "I said, go away!!" He aimed his wand once more determined to land the spell. "Flipendo!"

Words from the rambunctious blonde caught Livia's attention, and she methodically cast the older girl a pointedly blank stare. Her lips remained in an unamused line, and the fingers of her free hand tapped on her book's cover. Her right hand remained in possession of her wand, although she held it very loosely. She opened her mouth, but the words died in her throat as the spell died in her wand. Her eyes widened, and she stared down at the stick held between her fingers. 'I beg your pardon?' she murmured.
The blonde girl spoke again, and this time, Livia glared daggers at her. 'Have you got nothing useful to say?' She rolled her eyes. 'Go ahead, punch the bludger. Don't start crying when your knuckles are bruised, broken and bloody.' Perhaps a bit of disjointed bones would help the girl see sense. Even better was that the image distracted Livia from the humiliation of having failed a spell she had succeeded with previously.
An exclamation of Quiero patatas fritas caught her attention, and her chin swivelled until her gaze pointed at the idiotic redhead. Livia could reasonably assume that patatas fritas referred to the same thing as le patatine fritte in Italian, or otherwise chips. Why someone would want such a food in such a situation was beyond Livia, who, upon seeing one of the bludgers in her peripheral vision, quickly leant forward, pressing her face against the table until she felt it whoosh above ehr. She slowly sat back up, fixing her posture, and her mostly-neutral expression quickly soured when she reached up to check her chignon and found that it had begun to come loose.
A shield charm would have been immensely helpful, and Livia wished she'd had knowledge of such a thing before she sat down with her giant book. However, when she noticed the blonde girl's bat, cold horror formed a pit in her stomach. She scoured her thoughts for something to do that wasn't a poor attempt at petrifying the bludger, and finally, she thought of something that might neutralise the scenario. 'Fumos,' she incanted cooly.

first off: apologies for the late mod
Novalie seemed to still be unaware of the memo, that there were literal bludgers causing mayhem within the library. Or better even, simply did not care about the destruction, furthermore wishing to be contributor to the chaos going on around her. A sentiment that Oonagh could not help but respect, as the girl decided to focus on a petty duel with Harvey instead. She too began speaking in a language that the blonde could not understand, but hers at least reasonably sounded like a language she had heard walking down the streets before or in clips of movies.

The weirdest, strangest feeling overcame Harvey as the muscles in his arms and legs trembled and seized up. The movement in his limbs lessening as they were transformed into bark with roots and tendrils forming and reaching toward the ground. [rolled for destruction: 18]. Said roots bore themselves down into the wooden floorboards, prying apart the ground of the library as Harvey took root, as his limbs felt encased by tree, becoming one with the roots that scattered pages and pierced through leather bound books that had fallen to the ground. The librarian would certainly be pissed.
Leave it to Elisa to attempt to counter the symptoms rather than the root (hehe) of the issue. She set out with the aim to fix some of what was broken and-

'Have you got nothing useful to say?' The words stood out to Oonagh as Livia rolled her eyes at the cackling menace. 'Go ahead, punch the bludger. Don't start crying when your knuckles are bruised, broken and bloody.'
Oonagh shook her head, more laughter bubbling from her as she reveled in the chaos. "Daena whit ye mean, but Ah am not dainty like ye, Ah can throw a punch withoot having ma knuckles brakken!" The blonde responded haughtily, not letting the other girls words get to her in the slightest.

The bludger, hit, slammed into the stack off books that immediately toppled down, over and across it. Effectively burrowing the ball of metal beneath their weight. "Bullseye!"

NOVALIE MOON! ✩
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
To her utmost surprise, the boy backed away the moment Novalie landed in front of him, giving her the impression as if she’d startled a particularly skittish creature. Maybe it had been the sudden cartwheel or perhaps the wand pointed straight at him. Or, more likely, he was simply much shyer than she’d initially assumed, considering he’d been hiding under a table mere seconds ago. But Novalie, of course, had no intention of letting him retreat now and miss out on all this fun! Stand his ground he would - of that the Ravenclaw made sure, as her spell hit! At once, his arms and legs began to stiffen, limbs giving way to bark as thick, gnarled roots burst forth, plunging downward, causing a violent crack of the floor, which split beneath the pressure as the roots drove deep, prying stone apart with a force that made even Novalie blink. She’d cast this spell before, plenty of times, actually. But a force like this? “Wow...”, the redhead breathed, emerald eyes wide as her gaze followed the roots upward to his face, “You must have, like, a crazy strong personality or something for the roots to be this majestic! I mean, like, if you were a tree, you’d totally be one of those enormous ones that live for hundreds of years!” With what little freedom remained before the transformation completed, Short King somehow managed to flick his wand again. Another Flipendo shot past, and Novalie instinctively leaned aside, letting it sail by into nothingness. Obviously, he’d been aiming at a bludger. There was no way her new friend would have tried to hit her, right? And as for him yelling earlier that she wasn’t his friend - well, technically, he wasn’t wrong about that. They hadn’t spoken before, or at least, she couldn't remember. That didn’t mean much though, to be fair. Sometimes, random students talked to her about homework, exams or other boring things like that. And half of them turned out to be her seat partners since First Year without Novalie knowing. Regardless, the Ravenclaw had already decided: Short King, whatever his true name was, was going to be one of her best friends. “Careful.”, she chimed brightly as the spell fizzled out somewhere behind her, “You almost hit me there. Not judging though. These bludgers are super hard to aim at.” To cheer him up after his failure - and also to elevate the moment to its proper level of fun, Novalie began to dance in place, feet shuffling in a rhythm that only made sense in her own head, while her grin was radiant as ever, “Haha! See? Don't break your head over it, I'm not hurt!” Her legs bounced and spun, completely okay with the destruction around them. She pointed her wand toward him again, fully aware that dodging was no longer an easy option for him. However, before Novalie could cast, a shelf nearby gave in with a thunderous crash, throwing splinters and dust. A thick cloud billowed outward, immediately followed by another wave of smoke from some unseen spell. The air filled with coughing, shouting - and the unmistakable thud of a bludger striking a student. “Pff-!”, Novalie spluttered, waving her hand frantically to clear her vision. Luckily, the smoke slowly thinned, just enough for her to make him out again. Nothing else mattered at this moment. “Listen.”, she announced, “Once I make you bigger, you have to dance too, alright? Well, you probably can’t in that state, but that's okay! I’ll just use Tarantallegra on you so your limbs, like, literally won’t have a choice!” Her eyes shone. “Doesn’t that sound extremely exciting?” It did. It did in her own twisted fantasies. The Metamorph imagined the boy enormous, so tall his head scraped the ceiling, roots thick enough to shatter the floor entirely, cracking not just this level but the one below. A towering, dancing tree-boy shaking the castle to its foundations. Would everything collapse? Would they fall through all the floors together? There was only one way to find out. A manic smile spread across Novalie’s face as she raised her wand once more - at her friend and, in a way, her experiment. “Engorgio!” |

Harvey's eyes fell to his wand. What on earth was happening? The boy had practiced the knock back jinx hundreds of times. Sure, some had failed at first, but then he had mastered it. The careful pronunciation in unison with the wand movement. He was certainly concentrating as he wanted nothing more than to blast this girl into the abyss never to be see again. Yet the magic fizzled out just as soon as it was conjured. Perhaps something to say about real world application and yada yada, but this was damn ridiculous!
The boy wouldn't have another moment to contemplate his failures as Novalie's magic hit him square in the chest. Now, Harvey had been on the receiving end of spells before when practicing in class. It was always an odd sensation when the arcane energy spread through your body, but the sensation that took him now was unlike anything he had ever experienced before. "What's happening?!" Harvey shouted as his limbs began to grow stiff. Try as he might there was nothing he could do to move them. When he looked down his eye would pop with horror as his flesh began to transform to bark. "Oh no!" The boy's newfound root appendages began to tear and break away the floor below him, but he was truly helpless to do anything about it.
Logic would find its rightful place in the panicking boy's mind. Besides the unforgivables all magic could be healed or reversed. Harvey would survive this and that reality darkened his gaze as he looked to Novalie with a venomous look. "I was trying to hit you, weirdo! Now look what you've done to me!" His shouting would be interrupted by another exploding bookshelf and then the room began to fill with smoke. What a chaotic turn of events this all turned out to be. Then the girl went on again about making him bigger and dancing and whatever other lunacy came tumbling out her mouth. Wait! Make him bigger?
Harvey's eyes looked to her wand in horror! "NOOO!!"
