Some were tucked away into cozy little corners of the fairgrounds but Miles looked out from his finished area he smiled at the centralized location of his booth within the London Quidditch Stadium. Perhaps being directly across from Azkasplash!, the dunking booth which was sure to get plenty of attention, would perhaps help his booth get traffic. That wasn't the reason though why he jumped at the location of his own. While he was proud of the booth that he had set up for the 2025 International Summer Camp and even more prideful of his strides in herbology and hopefully many would discover him, but it was the view that brought him there - not the number that might stop by.
For those that would stop by the booth, there was much to discover, unique offerings that weren't sold in any of the plant shops within the wizarding world and Miles was pretty sure he could even put Noltie's Botanical Novelties to shame someday if he made a go of it. This booth would help him see what items carried the most interest, or any at all.
He eagerly awaited customers, although non-paying - he was still the merchant and they were the future owners of some amazing plant products. All he needed now was for someone, or several, to come in, check out his inventory, and inform him what they wanted, giving any details if they wanted a more customized experience and creation.
There was one particular plant not for sale and that was his own personal Bloom For You flower, one of his most difficult experiments and he had only, so far, been successful once.

Miles Thatcher's Curious Cultivars 🌿

Aug. 19, 2025 -- Booth Day!
Things had been slow in the morning on the Midway. There were plenty of folks out and about and looking, but there had been no takers for placing bounties on a n y o n e. The Elphabas were looking more and more like a mutiny was in the works if things did not pick up around here soon, so before he made the decision to just let them go for the day, he put them in charge of the booth for a time. He wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to look at some of the other booths while he could, hoping that it might get busier at his a little later in the afternoon as it moved into evening.
Being put in charge assuaged their mutinous hearts for the time being, and he saw smiles for the first time in a good 45 minutes. Stephen did extract promises from them that they would not go charging off to bring someone in without alerting him to the fact they were doing so and giving him the name of the person they were going after. He didn't really think anyone would hurt them or he never would have put them in their positions as bounty hunters, but he did feel a certain responsibility for them and their safety. He didn't think too much about what might happen if someone did step out of line with them, but he knew it would not be pretty -- and it definitely would not be adjudicated in a dunking booth.
He gave them his itinerary and headed directly to Miles' Curious Cultivars booth. To call what Miles had constructed a "booth" was an injustice to Miles and his creativity. It seemed to have been enchanted because it felt expansive inside and had a boutique feel. It was simply gorgeous and something he would have expected to see in Mill Valley back home. He knew Miles had been working hard on it and all of his creations within, and Stephen hoped his friend was enjoying the foot traffic it was getting. More than that, he hoped he was getting some orders.
As he walked in, the first thing he noticed was how fresh and cool and clean it all felt. That was a welcome respite to his neatnik self who was constantly having to swab the dust being kicked up by the foot traffic at his place.
Soon after Stephen began to look around, he heard Miles speaking to a girl before he saw him. He continued browsing and came across some bracelets. He thought to get one for EmmaLee, but he didn't see anything with blue, so he decided to keep looking. He did find a couple with red and gold and green and black, and he picked those up for the Elphabas.
He continued to look around and then a glint of something he at first thought was someone casting at him caught his eye. He deftly side-stepped, reaching for his wand in nothing flat before it dawned on him that he was merely reacting to the sun striking a crystal. Laughing at himself, he put his wand away and headed over to the crystal. When he turned the corner, he was delighted to discover a whole alcove of crystal mobiles refracting light onto the walls and floor in a beautiful array of kaleidoscopic colors and patterns.
Now this was a gift worthy of EmmaLee. After looking each of them over, he decided on four that, when hung together, had 9 crystals of varying shapes and sizes -- one for each planet and the larger one for the sun. He thought it might be a nice homage to the planets she had sewn for him, to scale -- a feat that still astonished him. He still had them hanging in his dorm room.
Time had gotten away from him and he no longer had time to visit any other shops. He had spent more time in this shop than he intended, but it had been fascinating. Still, he needed to go and Miles was still in conversation with the same girl. That was either one heck of an order she was placing, or maybe his pal was getting his flirt on. That idea made Stephen smile, but when he looked back over his shoulder, something about it felt a little weird too. Then his stomach growled loudly and he knew he was hungry.
He walked over to the checkout and gently piled the crystal vines on the counter. He was going to take the two bracelets with him to give to his Enforcers now, but he needed to leave a note for Miles first about what he was taking and what he was leaving to be picked up later.
He half-noticed a parchment pad and picked it up while immediately turning his head to snatch the quill and ink pot. After dipping the quill tip into the ink, his eyes finally turned toward the pad itself. He stopped mid-air, quill tip splattering ink all over the counter like some impromptu Rorschach test. It was not what was written that stopped him cold; that was nothing but ciphers and names.
No, what stopped him cold was the handwriting itself.
They had been best pals for how long now, and it suddenly just occurred to Stephen that he did not know what Miles' handwriting looked like. He swallowed hard, which was hard to do as his mouth was suddenly dry. Too dry. He retrieved his wand and intoned a quick Scourgify, cleaning up his mess. He then ripped Miles' notes off the pad and quickly copied the ciphers and names back down on the fresh page so Miles would have the information, but he stuffed the original in his pocket. Then he left his own information and told Miles he'd settle up with him later that evening.
He left with the two bracelets and started for the door. As he was walking out, he looked over to see Miles was looking his way. He didn't know if he had seen anything, but even if he had, he wouldn't really know what he'd seen. Stephen could easily explain it away as he'd made a mess and Miles' note was a casualty that couldn't be easily scourgified.
His heart was hammering in his chest as he met his friend's eyes -- his very blue eyes -- and he nodded quickly before hurrying out the door and back to his own booth.

It was beyond Malcolm why, beyond the boy who'd just rushed out, the bustling crowds appeared to not be paying much attention to this particular booth so far. Maybe it was because it was still early. Or too many of them were enjoying watching the headmistress of Mahoutokoro getting dunked repeatedly to turn around, the blond Irish boy figured. Either way, it was their loss, so far as he was concerned, because a single glance at the foliage covered wooden venue had been all it had taken to draw him in.
Rolling his way fully inside the booth, the not-quite-a-first-year's eyes lit up with an excited sense of awe as he took in the beautiful herbological wonders on display, literally stopping in his tracks when he saw the Bloom For You flower shimmering as it sat there. It was mesmerizing. As beautiful as a night full of stars. He couldn't imagine how much work had gone into producing something this breathtaking. It was hardly any wonder at all that it wasn't on offer when no money was being exchanged. Not when it could potentially fetch a small fortune all on its own. Or if the older dark haired boy manning the booth wanted to keep it for himself, he could hardly blame him if he did.
Eventually, Malcolm managed to peel his eyes from the horticultural masterpiece and looked around at everything that he genuinely had any hope of actually taking to Hogwarts in a few weeks. He took a deep breath as he looked about, enamored with the wares the boy was peddling.
"Merlin's beard... you've got a gift fer this, ya do..." He said quietly, not wanting to be too obtrusive while he was here.
He wheeled his way past the various displays. The adoptable mandrakes were kinda cute with how they wriggled, but he had a feeling waking up to see those eyes staring at him in the wee hours of the morning might scare him half to death. The bracelets were nice, but not really his style. The floating flower lanterns in their glass orbs were gorgeous, but he had a feeling that the light might make it a bit harder to sleep for himself and those who would be sharing his dormitory soon enough. But he was stumped for a moment, trying to decide if he wanted a magical vine mobile a dorm window sprout garden more. Eventually, his mind turned to his new bunny, Custard, and decided to go with the choice that was the least likely to get eaten.
He pointed up towards one of the vines, admiring how the crystal held in its foliage caught the light and magically projected arcane runes into the air. "Would ya mind partin' with that one?" He asked politely, a gentle smile on his face as he imagined it hanging by his bed at Hogwarts.

Considering this was Sara's last year attending Summer Camp, he didn't want to spend most of the day just in a tent and quidditch. So hearing about an Art and Crafts booth coming up, Sara was eager to explore what creative works he would be able to see. The event was festive so far, so much so that he had to wear his sunglasses to block out the painfully bright colours of tents and flowers. If it weren't for allergy potions, he surely would've turned back to his tent by now. With the amount of flower related themes a tent has.
He saw one that was a little unlike the rest. Miles Tratcher... seems like a somewhat familiar name. Perhaps one of Emmalee's friend? He swore he had heard that name somehow somewhere. Maybe it was that game last summer
Despite not being sure, he decided to enter, making sure to mind his steps and height as he entered the space. It.... was so flowery. For a split second he wished his shades covered up his whole vision. But he sighed, tensing trying not to get too close to any flowers. He was here to see what might catch his eye. The faster he choose something, the earlier he could leave.
He saw another customer before him join in too, already asking the tent owner about an item. Sara didn't come near the other. Worried that his presence may make the other uneasy. Instead he looked at the array of products available. From floating flowers to fancy hanging vines. There was a gorgeous flower even one on display but didn't seem to be for sale. His attention however was caught by the bunch of plants and herbs under a container.
Sara would only wait for when the other customer was finished being served, or if the owner would come closer to him.
" Excuse me.." Sara said, his gruff voice contrasting with the gentle slow way he tried to get the others attention. " I.. have a question.. if you don't mind. Those crystals.. in that herb garden. Do you ..maybe have crystals that are shaped a little different to be put in there instead?"

It was unclear even for himself how did Nick squeeze through the crowd strolling past. There so many people from so many places all going in different directions, it was truly disorienting at times.
For a boy his age, this was by far the most spectacular and confusing maze of booths, yet, in his naive and curious state, he had promised himself to visit every single booth he could find and take a moment to truly take in the amazing sights before him.
That's how he ended up squeezing past a group of happy girls and stopping right in front of a lovely green booth.
Nick wasn't a stranger to plants, his mother was a garden lover and his father had written quite a few books about potion ingredients that grew in gardens not unlike this one, yet, even so he was in awe.
"Oh... wow..." He mumbled to himself as he spun in a circle, accidentally bumping into someone on their way out. "Sorry! I'm so sorry!"
But he couldn't stop his eyes from wandering, every root, every leaf, every single chime he could catch a glimpse of was a brand new discovery and everything seemed to just call his name from every direction. How was he even supposed to pick something? This all seemed like a treasure chest and he wanted nothing but stuff every plant in his pockets and rush out the door.
He finally stopped spinning when he got dizzy, leaning on a counter right behind him and truly taking in what was in front of him. beautiful mobiles made of root and crystals that seemed to shine like the most beautiful of stars. His eyes all but consumed every sparkle in front of him.
The soft clinking sounds of the crystals in the breeze seemed to make the most beautiful of symphonies, he could imagine himself falling asleep at their sounds. He must have looked quite odd indeed, staring so dreamily at the little decorations.

Lydia weaved her way through the crowd, enjoying the immense chaos. She had lost her tentmates ages ago; they had been trying to go to the booths together, but the flow of people had resulted in them almost immediately getting separated. Lydia didn't mind though -- it was fun to just wander, and she assumed they'd all eventually end back up at the tent anyways.
She ducked into a small booth that looked like it was straight out of an enchanted forest. The inside was somehow even more breathtaking and more magical than the outside; the booth teemed with life, and everything was so green. Lydia smiled happily, breathing in the earthy smell of dirt and life.
She hadn't planned on getting anything, but as she turned around the booth, trying to see everything, something caught her eye -- a miniature garden that was advertised as perfect for a dorm room, and Lydia had to agree. There was a good variety of herbs, and crystals happily twinkled from their spots tucked between various plants. The end result was enchanting, and Lydia was enamored. She picked one out, and carefully brought it up to the boy running the booth. "Can I have this one?" she asked.

'Oh look!' Emilie shouted and pointed in the direction of all the pretty blooms. She was holding the hand of one of her new friends and was trying to drag them towards the tent and into the warmth of the enchanted garden. She finally let go when she was close enough to look at the items.
The bracelets first caught her eye, seeing how they could grow pretty flowers on her wrist. But she quickly realized that they would distract her in lessons, or she would be devastated if she misplaced something so pretty.
She moved on to the Dorm Window Sprout Garden. She thought about how nice it would be to have a little garden, but she wasn't sure which house she would be in or who her housemates would be, and they might take up all the window space.
The mandrakes were completely out of the question; her uncle dealt with mandrakes, and she always found them just a little creepy; also, she was sure Minks, her stuffed bunny, would get jealous.
She slowly strolled around, looking at all the growing blooms. She loved her colorful everything was but mostly she loved the calming feeling she got around the plants. As her eyes landed on the Floating Flower Lanters, her eyes lit up. A little gasp left her lips as she turned to her grandmother. 'They're so pretty, oh look, that one even looks metallic'.
Her friend long forgotten, Emilie shifted, looking for the merchant. 'Oh, excuse me, that silver white one is so pretty. Do you think I could have that one, please?

Hikari wove through the crowded streets, eyes scanning for his last stop. Just one more thing for the twins. and then he could finally be done.
Needless to say, the evening had been far from pleasant. The stalls by themselves were charming enough, but the loud chattering, the press of bodies, the heatโ all made his skin crawl. He could not wait to return to the comfort of his tent. At least there, he was rooming with people from his school.
A shimmer of light caught his eye. Outside one of the stalls, a flower had been displayed, it's translucent white petals glittering like pearls. The queue outside making him grimace, and he almost turned away, but the flower's glow drew him in. His youngest sister would adore something like that, and it certainly beat flower crowns.
With a resigned breath, he fell into place behind the girl at the end of the queue.
Plants. Rows and rows of them. He skimmed through the various displays, gradually getting more and more impressed with every enchanted plant he saw. He halted before a display of adoptable mandrakes, eyebrows raised as he stared down at them. Didn't know that was even possible. He shrugged and moved on; he wasn't going to be buying one of those anyway.
It was the floating flower lanterns that made him pause, the blossoms glowing inside glass orbs, reminiscent to Christmas Baubles. Hikari found himself studying the soft glow, wondering if they might work as a nightlight. Tomoe was still afraid of the dark. One of these could keep her room lighted without being too harsh.
Mind made, Hikari stepped up to the counter, and nodded to one of the orbs holding a shining blue flower in the middle. "I would like that one please." The exchange was quick- coins paid, lantern wrapped carefully and him stepping back into the night.
Miles Thatcher's Curious Cultivars 🌿
Asara had one last trip to make before she was due to meet up with her parents at the food stands. Miles Thatcher's Curious Cultivars! She'd been looking forward to this. Asara always helped her parents with their gardens, both the magical and muggle ones, she loved exploring the cliffs and fields and Herbology was the subject she was most looking forward to. So of course she couldn't leave without visiting the place.
She was hoping to find a plant she could take with her, that she could tend to at Hogwarts and maybe liven the room up a bit. Asara looked around the place in awe. There were plants of all sorts everywhere, all cluttered together on the table, dangling from the roof, hung from racks, wrapped around poles; it even had the flower crown tent beat.
All of them seemed placed to decorate a single flower, the star of the show, in the middle of the room. The centrepiece had a big show only flower with translucent petals that reminded her of the night sky's reflection in the loch. It's stamen looked almost like a group of tiny enoki mushrooms. The leaves glittered and sparkled. It was so pretty and so clearly important, Asara stuffed her hands in her pockets and resolutely turned away.
Nope. Not touching that. Not even risking it.
Determined not to linger near the prized bloom, Asara wandered the isles to pick something. And found herself in another conundrum! How was she pick just one! Did it have to be only one?
The blooming bracelets were very tempting. If she wasn't on a mission for her future dorm room she'd be headed straight for them. If she could get away with a second choice she still would! The flower bubbles were very pretty, but they weren't something she could take care of or watch grow. The vines were nice, especially with the crystals adding to the effect, but the symbols were a little too odd for her. The mandrakes were cute but definitely a disaster waiting to happen. She wasn't much interested in starting her Hogwarts years with a trip to the Healer's.
Asara was just going to ask after the custom plants when she saw it. Her future plant friends. A mini window garden made specifically for the Hogwarts dorms. It was a beautiful little thing, a narrow tray with a variety of sprouts growing around a scattering of sun-catcher prism crystals. It was precisely what she'd be looking for. Heck, she'd happily fill her own room back at home with a bunch of the things, if only she could sprout more arms. Or tentacles!
Asara grabbed one and took it straight to the tent runner, Miles Thatcher.
"Can I have this please? And may it please be just a little adjusted?"
