Thoughts - #009e77┃ Speech - #007514ℭapian was not entirely sure what he had expected from “Verdant Hollow,” but this? This was a forest with ambitions.
The outside was already something out of a storybook — a towering tree-trunk shape, all earthy bark and draping ivy, the base ringed in mushrooms like nature’s version of a welcome mat. He’d slowed his steps as he approached, one eyebrow lifting as he took it all in. No bright banners or flags. Just green. And more green. And something that looked suspiciously like a toadstool family reunion.
He stepped inside, and the rest of the world fell away.
The air changed instantly — cooler, quieter, laced with the scent of damp moss and summer leaves. Sunlight filtered down through rustling foliage above, dappled across the soft earth floor in shifting gold. Ivy climbed the curved walls without hurry, woven between pale flowers and the occasional strand of blooming vine. It didn’t feel like a tent. It felt like walking into the heart of a grove that had been waiting.
He blinked once. Then again.
Well.
It was... beautiful, actually.
He let out a slow breath, tension easing from his shoulders as he wandered further in. He took his time scanning the beds. He chose one near the far edge of the pond — a quiet spot
After a moment’s hesitation, he let his bag drop beside it with a dull thump. His fingers brushed the blankets. It looked soft and comfortable. He glanced around. Still no one else.
Well. Might as well find out.
With no one to watch, no commentary to give, he stepped back and casually launched himself onto the bed. For a while, he didn’t move. Just let himself sink, arms half-sprawled, the ceiling leaves shifting gently above.
Eventually, he pushed himself up onto his elbows, hair slightly mussed, expression unreadable. He glanced toward the tent entrance — half expecting someone to burst in and shatter the stillness with a laugh or a too-loud hello.Word count --> 324 words

Nova wasn’t exactly all that excited to be at Summer Camp. Sure, it meant that she’d get to practically live with her peers and that was a pleasing thought to have. But what really bothered her as she stood outside the enormous tree stump was that her mother had hardly fought her on it. Her mother was very big on ‘family time’ so Nova had personally prepared to try and convince her.
She didn’t understand why she felt disappointed when her mother just agreed, nodding along like she wasn’t even listening. Nova should have been happy. But all she felt was a tad bit of annoyance towards her mother. What she had expected was a lecture on how she was already away from home the majority of the year and she should spend some time with family.
In fact, it seemed like her mother was relieved to get her out of the house and away for longer. That’s what gnawed at her the most. All she had gotten was a “Camp will be good for you, Nova.” She sighed, letting her thoughts fade away as she stared at the outside of her tent.
It was beautiful, with ivy and moss covering it. The bark was hardly visible and the small mushrooms were cute, like a welcome. She adjusted her bag over her shoulder before stepping in cautiously. The inside was… amazing. There weren’t words to describe it as Nova’s eyes flickered to every inch of the area.
Light filtered in from the ceiling, if you could even call it that. The beds were formed from the branches, twisting in a way that looked inviting and cosy. Small fairy lights were floating around, illuminating the area with a pleasant ambience. The small pond in the centre of the tent rippled softly, small plants growing around it.
The stress in her shoulders eased as she looked around, unable to comprehend the place before her. As she gazed around, she noticed something. Or someone.
Caspian.
He was sprawled across one of the beds that looked like it had grown out from the Earth itself. His hair was sticking up in different directions and the soft light from above made him glow softly. Her breath hitched in her throat but she raised a hand in greeting, smiling like he hadn’t just given her a small heart attack.
“Already stolen the best bed for yourself?” She asked dryly, walking to a round, fluffy and pale white bed. It practically begged to it engulf her completely and never let her leave. She didn’t think she’d want to leave either way. Nova let her bag drop gently next to the bed she had claimed, letting a hand run over the covers. They were unbelievably soft under her fingers, like a cloud solid enough to touch. She glanced up as she heard the rustling of leaves and the crunch of leaves under shoes, announcing their newest arrival.

Saying goodbye to his family had been particularly hard for a certain soon-to-be first year. He'd known, in theory, that this day was coming. Hogwarts had always been on the horizon, and was been something he'd been ready for (and honestly, pretty excited about) since he was very young. But those years spent excitedly daydreaming had always had at least one thing in common: his twin brother, Conall. And while his own letter had come as everyone expected... Conall's had not. The two were close, even for brothers. Best friends, really. They'd never even been apart for more than an hour or two. And now Malcolm was supposed to spend the majority of the next seven years apart from him? Only coming home for a little over 2 months in total every year. Needless to say, neither of them had taken it very well.
But in the end, their tears were wiped away by gentle hands and tight hugs were exchanged, before Malcolm found himself alone, rolling his chair along the path between the rows of tents.
When the tent he'd been assigned to had come into view, he came to a stop. He hadn't been entirely sure what to expect the sleeping arrangements at a pre-Hogwarts summer camp would be like, but a tent fashioned to resemble a hollow tree - charming adornments of ivy, moss, and mushrooms included - wasn't on his list. But seeing a sanctuary like this did ease the pain in his chest, just a little bit.
He pushed his way through the yawning wooden maw of a threshold and looked around. The space was green and bursting with life in a way that felt more like a forest glade than a structure made of enchanted canvas. Finding his way to one of the unclaimed beds that seemed to have been grown from the 'tree' itself, he rested the cage holding his new bunny on the mattress, then set his pack and a pet bed down on the floor beside it. With a soft creak, he opened the latch, and the the golden furred rabbit hopped out without hesitation, his nose twitching as he began exploring his new surroundings.
He then turned his attention to the rest of the beautiful interior of the tent, the flowers and vines and pond. He'd never expected there to be a bloody water feature included, but it complimented the rest of the whimsical nature of the space.
He took a quiet moment to just... be... before he nodded to the two older students who were already here, feeling a bit shy, but steadier now than he'd been before. "Name's Malcolm." He then glanced at the bundle of fur currently investigating a flowering vine that was snaked around one of his bed posts, then looked back to the pair, "Oh, and this is Custard. He's friendly, if either of you'd like to pet him."

Alliasta happily skipped from the campsite to the tents. She was excited, so excited she thought there might be more fun events this year than last year's. A different kind of entertainment every year was perfect for the always enthusiastic and energetic Alliasta.
Oh, and plus, this year she'd be spending summer camp with her favorite cousin. Boris was still walking beside her. Alliasta would run energetically between the tents inside, then back to Boris's path and do it again. She was smiling and having fun as she waved and squealed at the students she knew from school.
The weather was nice, and her hair was swaying wildly from all the running around. She'd taken extra care of her curls today, but they were already back to their usual messy curls. Jumping around definitely wasn't helping to keep her hair in order. When she saw their tents, her eyes immediately lit up.
"Boris! Boris! Look, here comes our tent. Let's have a running race!"
Even though Alliasta knew Boris wouldn't be racing her, she still ran toward the tent. She entered the tent very quickly and stopped just in time. She looked around with great excitement.
"Woaaahh! This place is amazing! The tents at last year's camp were great, but I like this one better!"
Then she glanced at the three people who had preceded her, already settled into their beds. Two of them she recognized, but the other, not so much. She still didn't know their names. She immediately smiled brightly at them.
"Ah! So you're my new tentmates. This is going to be so exciting! I'm Alliasta Holista. But I enjoy being called by nicknames more. It's nice to see how creative you can be."

Boris walked calmly through the campsite. He felt more comfortable since cutting his hair. Long hair wasn't a problem back home in Russia, as the weather was cool and comfortable, and he hadn't felt the need to cut his long hair because of the cold in Durmstrang, but now he was glad he had. He hadn't felt the wind on his neck for a long time. It was a tickling, pleasant sensation. While his cousin was running around, he was walking, carrying his bags on his back. Normally, if his father wasn't home in the summer, he would go to his grandmother's house or the Alliasta house, but this year he was here because of summer camp. His cousin had already attended last year, but this year, he was attending Boris. It was a first for him. The place was lively, and there were many people. It was crowded because it wasn't just Hogwarts and Durmstrang, but also students from other schools. While he was still looking around, Alliasta shouted with excitement when she saw the tent where they would be staying and challenged them to a running race to it. Before Boris could say anything, the girl had already run. Boris continued at his own pace, still examining the surroundings. This year, there would be plenty of games and camp activities. He was already curious. When he finally reached the tent, he went inside. Alliasta was shouting, introducing herself. He rolled his eyes at Alliasta and then went inside, placing his bags on the two beds he'd chosen. I hope it will be good... But not wanting to sound rude by not recognizing himself, he turned to the people inside and smiled politely. "Hello I am Boris Bucky Darwell nice to meet you all" |

Victoria entered the London Quidditch Stadium excitedly. She was breathless when she saw her surroundings. Her mother was out of breath as she followed her daughter.
"It's all up to you from here, little mouse. Have fun."
Vera kissed her daughter's cheeks and handed her Athena's cage and suitcase to her. Tori felt something inside her break when she saw the cage. She still couldn't forget her mouse, and she still couldn't accept having a cat. So that her mother wouldn't be upset, she quickly grabbed her things and started walking towards the tents. She hadn't noticed, but her hair had turned a pale red.
The tents did not resemble normal Muggle tents, but were very noticeable with their different sizes and appearance.
When she found her own tent, she put on a happy face, tried to get away from the clouds in her head, and went inside.
The interior was nature-themed, making you feel like you were truly in the woods or a swamp. There were a few other people inside besides Alliasta, whom she knew.
"Hello tent mates, it's a great pleasure to be in the same tent with you. I hope we'll have a great time. We might not, but I think we'll get along very well."
She spoke with a somewhat artificial happiness and while she was thinking that the friends she had met would understand this, she opened the cage of her cat Athena.

ᗩ sai lingered just outside the entrance for a moment longer than necessary, the strap of his bag gripped in both hands. He heard voices being carried softly from inside — laughter, introductions, something about a rabbit. It wasn’t loud or chaotic. But it was enough to make his stomach twist.
He hadn’t even planned on coming. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for his sister, he probably wouldn’t be here at all. She had packed half his things herself, rattling on about how good the fresh air would be, how he’d meet people, make new friends. He hadn’t argued, not wanting to disappoint her.
Still, he stepped inside.
Asai moved quietly along the edge of the space, careful not to get in anyone’s way. Most of the beds were claimed, bags dropped. He found an empty one nestled in a quiet corner, and put his bag down beside it too, fingers brushing the edge of the blanket. Then he sat. Back straight. Hands folded in his lap.
For a few seconds, he didn’t move.
Then, more to the air than anyone in particular, he spoke.
“Um,” he said quietly. “Sorry I’m late.”
He wasn’t. Not really. But it gave him something to say.
“I’m Asai. Asai Teruo.”

Thoughts - #009e77┃ Speech - #007514ℭaspian hadn’t expected the quiet to last long, and sure enough, it didn’t. One by one, people drifted in — Nova first, dry humor in her tone as if she’d caught him red-handed claiming territory.
He’d raised an eyebrow in response, not bothering to deny it, watching her sink into the cloud-like bed across from him. “Not my fault it was the best one,” he drawled back, tone teasing. "If you wanted it, Raincloud, you should have gotten here sooner."
The rabbit was next. Or rather, a boy named Malcolm carrying the rabbit. Caspian blinked when the fluffy little thing was introduced, rubbing its little head. "Oooh! This tent just got a mascot!"
Alliasta’s arrival was more like a thunderclap than a step. She was so full of energy. Caspian gave a wave. “Alliasta,” he repeated, slow as if tasting it. “Nice to meet you! You’ve already out-talked everyone here combined.” He flicked a look at Nova again, eyes gleaming. “And that’s saying something.”
Boris was the calmer one. Caspian sat straighter. “Boris,” he greeted with a short nod.
Victoria’s entrance was different — her voice cheery but edged with something else, something brittle beneath the polish. Caspian didn’t comment on that. His eyes flicked briefly from the cat’s cage back to her. “Just letting you know,” he said lightly, “if Custard and your cat decide to start a turf war, I’ll be taking bets."
And then — another boy, quieter than the rest. Asai slipped in with a small introduction. Caspian sat up a little at that, running a hand through his hair. “Asai, was it?” he said. “Welcome!”
Having dispensed words to everyone, Caspian stretched back across his bed again, one arm folded behind his head. “Well,” he said into the leafy hush, “guess the circus has officially arrived.”Word count --> 301 wordsreally sorry for the late reply.

Nova felt both amusement and exasperation as Caspian called her "Raincloud" once again. She rolled her eyes at him exaggeratedly, letting out the loudest scoff she could despite the warmth in her cheeks. "I thought we were done with that." She stated flatly, crossing her arms as someone new entered. Tearing her gaze away, her eyes darted to their arrival.
It was a boy, rather short. Probably a First Year. But that wasn't what had Nova's attention. In his hands, nose twitching curiously, was a cream coloured rabbit. Nova practically gasped in awe when it hopped out of its cage. She stepped forward, eyes on the rabbit when Caspian reached it first. Grumbling, she turned to its owner, who seemed nice yet shy. She gave a small wave, smiling cheerfully. "Nice to meet you, Malcolm, I'm Nova!"
She walked over, resisting the urge to smack Caspian's hand away so she could pet the rabbit too, and nodded back at Malcolm as someone practically zoomed into the tent, grinning widely. What Nova noticed first was her outfit, which was utterly adorable. Nova bobbed her head, grinning back as the girl introduced herself. Right after her, another boy entered calmly, placing his bags down. She met Caspian's eyes when he muttered some snarky commentary and snorted amusedly.
Already so many people! Nova thought, smiling at the small group in their tent. Of course, that wasn't all. Nova glanced up as yet another member joined them, raising her hand in a half wave. She didn't notice the slightest stiffness in the girl's movements. Opening her mouth once again to greet her, one more person walked in silently and gave a quiet greeting.
He seemed more quiet than the others, more shy. Caspian walked back to his own bed, settling in like he'd never leave. Rolling her eyes once again at his comment, she spoke up loudly, hoping the awkwardness wasn't too obvious. "So, I think some introductions are in order," She started with a grin, twirling a curl in her finger absently. "I'll go first. I'm Nova, in Hufflepuff. I'm a second year, too." Her eyes flickered to the girl with the cat, which was sitting peacefully. Introductions can't be too bad, right?

"I cant believe we are same tent! It will be soo fun then."
Then Alliasta rushes into the tent to jump excitedly on her bed. Uncomfortable or not, she's already loving her bed. She immediately starts rummaging through the bag Boris had carried for her, tying one of her hair clips onto her head. While she was doing this, she did not forget to listen to the girl who came after her.
Then Alliasta looked at the girl who had introduced herself as Nova. She had curly hair just like hers. The only difference was that Alliasta's hair was black as a dark night sky, while Nova's was more blonde. After she finished explaining that she was in Hufflepuff, Alliasta jumped in.
