I have permission to godmod Demitra Aragon.

It was a cold evening. The air was crisp clean and a wind blew over the courtyard. Edith didn't know why she was here, but in the noisy common room she felt isolated. She didn't like too many people in one place, especially if most of them didn't like her. It was bedtime too soon, Edith thought. She would have to return inside the castle soon. She was alone, and yet she liked it that way. Her only friend in her whole life had been Holly, and she had been fine with it, but now Edith wondered if she wanted only one friend for the rest of her life. Edith shivered. She looked over her shoulder; there was a peculiar feeling that she was being watched. But there was no one there. She gulped in the cold air, savoring the feeling of the breeze as it wiped her hair about. Holly had been nice, Edith thought, but she was too much of a chatterbox, and they had little in common with Edith anyway.

Suddenly, something broke her out of her thoughts. Well, not something. Someone. A dark shadow was walking towards her. Edith didn't recognise the girl, and yet she felt familiar. She had long dark curls and deep sea green eyes, but it was difficult to see because of the darkness falling upon Hogwarts.
Hello? Edith heard her own echo. The girl turned around, and saw her.

People were bothersome. That's the main reason Demitra ventured out, in the evening, just as the sun had set. A faint glow of summer remained in the air from August, but a prolonged chill lingered. The courtyard was unusually quiet - the laughter, shrieks and arguments were stifled by the evening; only to return the next morning.

Demitra was delighted at the chance to avoid people in general, so thus she decided an evening walk would do. She slipped out of the dorms, the cozy Hufflepuff Celler and through the bare halls. What they had been a few hours ago busy and hectic, now calm and bleak. She stepped onto the stone floor, her shoes padding against the hard ground.

The fountain was gorgeous as usual, Demitra noted, looking at the large circular base. It reminded her slightly of her home, where she could have visited a pond any day. She pressed her crimson lips together, thinking about the countless days she spent there. The water trickling was soothing, almost nostalgic. She paused for a minute, eyes targeting the water. After a split-second, through her dark, thick curls she spied a lonesome figure on the opposite end. Great. She thought to herself, resisting the urge to just turn around and walk away. And better yet, the girl seemed to have noticed Demitra, and approached her.

Demitra, hands in her skirt pockets, her Hufflepuff tie contrasting her hair, she looked up, miffed.
"Hello." she replied, her voice tinged with annoyance. "Can I help you?" she said, with light sarcasm. She gazed at the girl, examining her features.

She seeemed to be shivering slightly. Demitra didn't sympathize. She merely stood, hands crossed, waiting for an answer. Her curtain of hair moved slightly behind her as a gust of wind swept over the courtyard. Demitra's eyes were on the girl, studying her with no interest, as though watching a mildly interesting television program.

The girl went up to Edith. Edith was scared; the girl looked like a Slytherin, and she didn't want to be mixing with her. The girl went up close, so Edith could see her eyes, a deep green-blue, and her beautiful hair. It shone in the darkness. Hello, she replied, sounding slightly bored. Can I help you?
Yes Edith answered without thinking before hesitating. She hadn't even thought that question through. I mean, no. She blushed bright red. Who are you? she asked. This girl was a Hufflepuff, a Edith noticed by the yellow and black tie. Still, she made Edith shiver with her glare. Edith got no answer. Why are you out on a n...night like this? My name is Edith, b...by the way. It really was getting cold now, and Edith thought about her warm bed in her dormitory. Still, she couldn't leave this stranger on her own when she had just introduced herself. Edith shivered once again, as the cold began biting her bones. Still, she got no answer from the girl.

The wind bit at Edith's fingers, that she hastily shoved in her pockets. Edith wondered if the girl was ever going to answer, when finally she spoke.

One thing that was evident, was that this girl had absolutely no experience in speaking with others. In fact, she seemed to struggle with forming basic words.
"Yes." The girl said, without hesitating. Even Demitra was confused for a split second before regaining her composure, her haughty air brought back.
"I mean, no" Demitra's eyebrows knitted. Who was this girl, wasting her precious time? "Who are you?"

The comments were endless seemingly. Demitra crossed her arms, her disgusted gaze landing on the girl's face.
"I'm Demitra Aragon, but thats none of your business." she said firmly and coldly. There was an air of annoyance as she spoke. "And who are you, pray tell?" she continued, looking at the girls face.

The girl seemed to be shivering; and stuttering too by the look of it. Demitra surpressed a scoff - it wasn't that cold. For her anyway. She cast Edith a downgrading look, now almost smirking.
"It's not that cold." she pronounced without a second thought. The girl looked, quite frankly, as though she was about to die of pneumonia and collapse onto the ground with purple lips.

The wind lightly stung her cheeks, which were going slightly rosy, but even if she felt the slightest breeze, Demitra had no intention of displaying weakness. Instead, she decided to change the subject.
"So what are you, a second year?" she almost sneered - in actual fact, Demitra wasn't exactly trying to be super mean on purpose; her natural default voice was a little whiny and tinged with relegate.

Demitra looked around bored, waiting for a reply.

I'm Demitra Aragon, but that's none of your business, the girl replied. Edith was a bit annoyed at her attitude. 'Demitra Aragon' She thought, wasn't that a first year? Edith scoffed at the thought.
So what are you, a second year? Demitra asked rather rudely. For a moment Edith considered not answering her. Then she sighed and nodded.
Yes. Maybe I can teach you some of my tricks someday. Edith tried and failed to sound nice about it. She was beginning to dislike the girl by the second. She was outward and rude and Edith wondered how Demitra wasn't sorted in Slytherin. There must be a nicer part of her, she thought, if the Sorting Hat sorted her into Hufflepuff.

Edith wanted to go back by now. She was getting bored talking to this girl and her warm bed in the dormitory was waiting for her. She yawned and took a tentative step towards the doors back inside, hoping Demitra wouldn't stop her. Bye, then, I guess, she suggested, as her body began going cold. It really was not the time to be outdoors. Edith checked her watch.
21:54
it said, and Edith knew that she'd be breaking the rules if she was out for 6 more minutes.

"Maybe I can teach you some tricks someday." Edith said. Demitra almost laughed out loud at the thought - this girl, who couldn't even stand a small breeze, was insisting on teaching her tricks? That thought amused Demitra for a second. If she needed so called "tips" she would have approached any old brick wall - even that surely would be more informative.

She said that to herself- No. You surely know Demitra well by now.
"And what tips are you planning on giving?" she said, looking at Edith in amusement and disgust, "Certainly not how to survive the cold." The words slipped off her tongue without a second thought. She smirked to herself.

Demitra examined her nails for a second, while every clog in her brain was working. What harm could this do, other than potentially damaging her reputation and being made a fool of? She instantly dismissed that thought. She was Demitra Ivy Aragon, for goodness sake. If anyone thought she was backing down off a challenge, they were wrong.

But then again, what good would a Ravenclaw, a girl barely older than her by a year, teach her? Demitra gave a controlled shrug, giving Edith a very "attitude" look.
"Yeah, sure whatever. Send me like an owl or something like where." she said drowsily, almost lazily. She gave Edith a nod, which was neither respectful nor friendly, and sauntered off, into the corridors once again.

Edith watched as Demitra leaves the courtyard. She was glad she did, too, or her fingers might have frozen to death. Edith watched her shadow grow smaller and eventually disappear as the girl left her on her own devices. Edith stood taller, and grew angry. The girl was so rude to me. She thought, and didn't know how to get her way back. Eventually, an idea was coming up in her frozen mind.

What if she invited the girl for a duel? Demitra didn't seem the type to disagree, and Edith knew quite a few spells to have a fair chance of winning. As the night grew darker, and the wind grew stronger, Edith took a deep breath, turned around and walked back into the castle. When she was back to the warm and now deserted common room, Edith took out her quill and wrote a letter.

Dear Demitra, she wrote, chewing the end of her quill. How was she supposed to phrase this? she thought. Edith stretched and dipped her quill back into her ink pot.
Today I met you for the fist time, and would you like to duel with me? If yes, write back your owl as soon as possible.

Edith had deliberately scribbled out a bit; You seem to dislike me as strongly as I dislike you

Sighing, Edith rolled up the letter, and went to bed... way too late. Again.
