New Year New Friends

Takes place 31 December 2019
May was sitting in the Library, alone. To May, being alone was very pleasant and comfortable. After all, no noise, no chatting...that means it is May's time.
The air smelled New Year. The end of a decade. Twenty twenty was coming. And, that meant, new friends. And new life. New people. She would absolutely make changes this year. She had to stop being shy! Shy was in the old times...
She was reading a book of fantastic animals. May always thought that fantastic animals were like people. They were absolutely not like Muggle animals. Well, maybe animals are not Muggles but May said things like that. Odd things they are. ''Words'' those odd things that people use... May never thought that she was Muggle born. She was absolutely something else. A wizard or non wizard she had to be something else than a Muggle. She is a odd little girl, everybody said that. That odd little Moonstar girl. The one that things that words are odd and can lift a rock just by seeing it. That Ms. Guillian needed a lesson! She couldn't just think that May was odd. But, recieving a letter from Hogwarts was a revelation. Other people were like her. She curled up in her chair and fell deeply asleep, in her own thoughts.

New Year New Friends

May was still dreaming her dreams about fantastic beasts when she felt something tapping her shoulder. In her dream, she couldn't see the person behind her, and then, she begun to open her eyes slightly, streching herself and yawned. What a pathetic yawn she did! Then, she saw a handsome face of a Ravenclaw boy, grinning, she standed up, alert of what she saw. He had the Ravenclaw colors gleaming proudly upon his chest.
''W-why hello'' she said timidly ''I guess I fll asleep. I was reading this magnificent book, have you read it?'' she asked, quickly trying to make te Ravenclaw boy forget about her sleeping. After all, sleeping in the library was probably not even allowed. ''By the way, my name is May, May Moonstar, and I am a Hufflepuff, a Hufflepuff first year. And, you are?'' she asked polietly. After all, she did not want the boy to see the disgust on her face because of him ruining her peace. She wanted to yell at him, ''Why did you woke me up? How impolite!!!'' but obviously she couldn't yell t him. Absolutely not in the library. She would have, with pleasure yelled at him the Hall or something but she still had to give some respect.

May got a bit grumpy seeing that other people used her spot. She didn't want to sound bad tho, so she said, ''It isn't yours, its the schools table, but, never mind me, there are lots of other places to read''she felt kinda bad for him after saying that. She knew how it felt to see someone else in your spot. ''M-maybe we can read the book togheter'' she wanted to say sorry, in some way she couldn't find out. ''Well, please do not tell the librarian that I was sleeping here, maybe she or he, whatever would kill me'' she said in a joking matter. Coming back to the book subject she said, ''I do love this book, it is a wonderful source of education and magic...'' she was dreaming or something. Again. She had that wonderful sleepy sensation. She reminded herself that she was with company, ''Oh, nice to meet you Liam, I am May...'' she had totally forgot that she had already presented herself. ''Oh, sorry for my mistakes, I am really dumbo'' she said with her English accent. She got up and said, ''I better get to another table, seeing that thi table is, OWNED'' she said jokingly. She liked to joke about things. Especially when she met people. ''Oh, and yes, I will take note of that! If you need me then here I am most of the time! Or in the grounds too '' she said with a laugh. She made a new friend then. Not exacly how she had planned it tho, but still a good start.

New Year New Friends
Lilly decided to visit the Library, a place she often came to because she needed to study or relax. Today it was both because she didn't feel like being in the Common Room...and she also needed to catch up on her Transfiguration homework. She hoped that the Library wouldn't be too crowded, even though she knew how to study in a loud environment anyway.
She looked around briefly as she entered the library, curling a stray orange hair behind her ear. It wasn't too crowded, which made her release the breath that she had subconsciously been holding. Lilly didn't like it when things were too close to her and was planning to sit by herself, hopefully in a secluded corner.
But on the other hand, Lilly kind of wanted to hang out with someone, she was feeling social at the moment. She scanned the room as she walked, her free hand in the pocket of her pants, looking for someone who seemed open to conversation. Some people looked bored, some people looked tired, others looked annoyed. She was looking for a potential acquaintance, she guessed.
While she was walking she overheard bits of a conversation.
“Hello, May, Sorry if I was a bit crude on the awakening, but students probably shouldn’t sleep in the library. Not to mention that that’s my spot,” said a voice, one that sounded like it belonged to a boy.
Lilly raised her brows; this school was surely going to be like her past ones, where people did ignorant things like claim property that didn't even belong to them out of spite. She frowned sheepishly, meaning to keep going, but another voice responded, a feminine one.
''It isn't yours, it's the school's table, but, never mind me, there are lots of other places to read.''
She squinted, pausing in her walk. No, just mind your business, Lilly. It's none of your concern—
She turned around and headed towards where she'd heard the conversation. Lilly soon found two students, a boy and a girl like she had assumed. She wasn't noticed by them yet and was able to listen to the conversation. They didn't seem to be heading towards an argument, gratefully.
“Is this spot taken?” she asked, sitting down at the table before anyone could agree or disagree. She grinned and looked between the two. “It seems like a great place to study. Don't mind me.” Then she proceeded to organize her studying materials, even though she didn't really feel like studying.

May was, minding her own buisness and actually wanted Liam to go. She waned to have that spot for herself, but it seemed impossible. When the girl came, and sat in the table May startled. She had not seen the girl enter the library. She was still sleepy, she thought. ''Umm, sure you can'' she said in a trembling voice. She had a smile on her face, but, what she wanted to do was cry like a baby. She was always sensible when she woke up and easy to hurt. ''O course you can!'' she said with her fake smile ''It does not matter to me, it seemes as thought this spot is taken by two people and I am not going to stay and fight for it. There is a better place in the grounds, for now'' she said, grumpily. She was sure that she would have won this seat battle, but another person showed up and that meant nothing else could be done. She picked up her Fantastic beasts and where to find them book, and took a step to go to the grounds, to read peacefully. Furthermore, she did not want people see her cry.

It wasn't difficult to release that the two had taken her action the wrong way, but Lilly decided to play along with it. They both didn't seem to like the fact that she had sat down in this particular seat but she wasn't about to move. She had already gotten comfortable, but they were free to go if they wanted, which is what it looked like the girl was about to do.
They both answered in an awkward manner, even though Lilly had simply sat down, even offering them a smile. She had to admit, though, that her smile had been a little on the fake side, but she had genuinely been trying to be friendly.
Lilly remembered that she was dressed in her Slytherin attire, wearing a green tie. Knowing her House's history, she figured they might've been uncomfortable because she was from the House of Snakes, and they were infamous for their usual unpleasant behavior. It made her feel bad that she had come off in a bad way, as she could assume, but after all, the boy had addressed this other girl in an equally, or even worse way.
Since they were exchanging pleasantries at this point, Lilly, replied, “I'm Lillian Rose, nice...,” She meant to say 'nice to meet you' but things didn't seem very nice at the moment. “Unless I see someone's name somewhere, I'm going to sit where I like, thank you. But you're welcome to join, like you were saying.” She rolled her eyes.
Then, speaking to the girl, she said, “There's enough room for all of us, if you feel like staying.”
Lilly could be rude if they wanted her to, which it seemed like this boy, Liam, was asking for. But May, she had only been trying to sit down without a problem, so she felt bad for her. Also because she noticed the girl's watery eyes.

May was still waiting the response of the Slytherin girl, May, still waiting in the library door. She expected a response, after all. When at last she heard her voice say “I'm Lillian Rose, nice...,” but, she finished in 'nice...'. But May absolutely knew that she was about to say 'nice to meet you', but, because of something, the girl didn't say so.
“Unless I see someone's name somewhere, I'm going to sit where I like, thank you. But you're welcome to join, like you were saying.” then, Lillian rolled her eyes. May did expect a bad attitude, because that was very infamous of Slytherins. But, what really seemed odd was that, at first, the girl seemed nice to Liam and May. May raised her eyebrow at the eye movement. Well that was rude.
A moment had passed, a terrible moment of silence, when she heard the girl say, “There's enough room for all of us, if you feel like staying.” At last! She didn't want company, but, if they were nice, that was much better. But, May didn't want to finish things so easily. ''I'm sure that you would only want me to stay here because you...'' at that moment, May was out of words or ideas of what to say. ''...you want my knowledge!'' yeah, like that a Slytherin wanted May's knowledge. She waited a second or so, of scilence, when, May couldn't resist laughing. She laughed so hard, that she couldn't even stay on her feet.
