Charms Class OOC Questions

Hi, so I had a doubt. For example today I learned about the Mending Charm, so how can I use it?? Like how we use spells?? Do we perform them in RP or something?? If it is performed in RPs then, do we also need to mention the wand movement and all also?? Thank You

Once you have the spell, yes, you can use it in topics! If it is just a personal topic with you and friends you can either auto-success the casting or if you want to add chance and happenstance to the topic you can roll to see if it succeeds and write accordingly. That is a decision you and your topic partner would need to decide. In site-moderated events there will be a moderator rolling for success etc etc.

You do not need to use the correct wand movement in your RP but you can if you'd like. Otherwise you can just give the incantation and say you waved or flicked your wand.

For the first year's charms homework, it asks 'Who was the witch or wizard who famously tried to use the Dancing Feet Spell on a volcano?', as this is not mentioned in the text given, what sources am I allowed to use to find out?

The Harry Potter wiki is your “textbook” if you can’t find an answer, but the answer should be found in the text like El said.

So I'm having trouble accessing future lessons with Charms. The first lesson is pending a grade, but I can't access the future classes like I can with other classes. Any time I try to click on the boxes, it won't let me look at the future classes. When I click on the class's symbol, it'll only show me the one class that's still pending correction. Did I do something wrong? Is there a glitch? Or is it something else?

I tried asking in another OOC thread, but I couldn't get an answer. For some reason, I can't add pictures to my posts, so I apologize for that inconvenience. I hope you all can help me out. Thanks!

Hiya Aisling!

In some of the classes, like Charms, you have to complete and earn a grade before you can access the remaining four lessons. So, you didn't do anything wrong, and the site isn't glitching for you. Once your homework is graded, you will have access to the remaining lessons.

Just as the lovely Kaitlyn Connor explained - My class is the first on the report card, so it is often times the first class students do on the site. For that reason, I lock future Charms classes until your first Charms assignment is completed, so that in case you format it wrong or don't understand the homework system, you don't lose unnecessary points on all first-year lessons Once you get feedback on your first lesson/a grade, all Charms lessons for your year will be unlocked, and then for all future years, there won't be any assignments behind a 'lock wall' as I assume at that point you understand the homework system

I submitted my charms homework about 1-2 weeks ago, but I still didn't get a grade. Is this a glitch from my side/the website, or has just not been graded yet?
