[quote]Roman keeps walking, leading the way, no need to look around, acting as if he knows where they’re heading. The cold wind hugs him and he gladly smiles a bit, glad that he's in front of them so they can't see. It makes him relax a bit, having something to do, though it’ll surely drain all the rest of his energy and would leave him in an even more sour mood. He slouches, lazily and continues to move with no hesitation whatsoever.

The girl’s — Katrina’s — question doesn’t sound remotely nice, which he doesn’t mind in the slightest; glad to know that she’d equally (or perhaps more) frustrated as he is. Their presence doesn't bother him as he thought since the silent that had staggered between them was enough for him to pretend that he's all by himself.

“None of ya business,” he answers simply, but with no bite to his tone, or so he thinks. He shrugs, and runs his fingers through his messy hair, quieting down. Surprisingly, the silence begins to bother him a bit, which isn't unusual. He's known for being quite the talker, but he does it mostly to annoy other people. And so Roman sighs loudly, and adds, “The common room sorta sucks, I wanted to relax a bit,”

Juniper wasn't sure how she lost the lead, but sometime after they took off Roman moved to the front of the group, and now she and Katrina were following him. She always winds up being a follower, somehow.

Oh well. the thought to herself. It's probably for the best in this instance - he probably actually know where we're going.

She sure didn't. In fact, if she had to guess, she'd say they were headed away from the castle. At least, that was her intention when she took off on her "shortcut" as a means of escape, and she was amazed that anyone decided to follow. They'd seemed to eager to be rid of her. And now here they were still, the three of them, trapped in each other's company. The weight of their uncomfortable silence growing heavier by the minute.

Juniper wondered if she could linger behind and then just... run for it. She just couldn't think of another way to get out of this. But the trees weren't that dense yet, and they'd undoubtedly see her running off if they looked at the right time. That would be weird. But would it really be any less awful than this?

"What brings you here then, Roman?" Katrina asked, and tensions seemed to be mounting again.

Juniper looked around. She could do it, but they'd see her dash, and then she'd have a whole new awkwardness to reckon with later. Maybe not with Roman, being a Slytherin, but she'd definitely run into Katrina again, sooner or later...

“None of ya business,” Roman answered, although without any hostility. With an exasperated sigh, he added, “The common room sorta sucks, I wanted to relax a bit,”

Maybe this wasn't so bad. This seemed like the start of a potentially pleasant conversation. Eager to keep it that way, Juniper resisted the urge to ask why the Slytherin room sucked or what the Slytherin room was like or anything that might be annoying or provoking and simply said; "It is nice to get outside once in awhile."

Clutching her notebook, she looked around the grounds she'd meant to explore. She resisted the urge to add And I think we're headed further out...

Katrina suddenly realized that it was her that had been making the whole thing awkward. It wasn't usual that she was causing trouble or being sour, so it hadn't even occurred to her. It was odd having to now settle things between them. Juniper looked around like a wounded animal searching for an escape. At some point, Roman took the lead leaving Juniper beside her. Katrina sighed and shook her head before anyone said anything.

Roman snapped out, then seemed to realize he was being rude and attempted to say the rest politely. She just wanted some time to brood in her 'horrible life' when they turned up. She might as well take the opportunity to let them help herself. Juniper made some comment about being outside and Katrina realized it was her 'turn' to talk again. The awkward silence mounted tension again.

"I just wanted to draw some, I guess," her saying something calm relieved some of the tension. She didn't know what kind of critters lived in this forested area, but she didn't want to find out either. She didn't want to say anything, but they were now turned away from the castle and the trees began to get more dense and the noises of the forest, louder.

She tripped over a pointy log and found herself up close and personal with the forest floor. Now her face was burning with embarrassment and she pushed herself up. He left hand had a shallow cut and was bleeding and her right angle was severely twisted. She muttered some curse that would have her mother punish her as she sat up. She tore yet another strip off the inside of her robe and twisted it around her hand in anger. The two wouldn't notice for a little while so she called out.

"Wait up," the pain was evident in her broken voice and Katrina winced at the tone. Her ankle was at a wrong angle and she adjusted it before they could see, "Someone grab two sticks that are strait," She knew she would have to splinter the ankle if they were to get out. She tried to ignore the blinding pain shooting up her leg and hold back flashbacks from last year when she broke her arm.

[quote]Taking the lead is bad and makes some sort of pressure loom over his head, but Roman decides to ignore it, as they keep walking towards the forested zone. He mostly ignores whatever they say, and doesn’t spare a look in their direction, too busy with his eyes looking to the eternity of green surrounding them.

He’s never been the type to explore, quite honestly, and, of course, not enjoying the thought of getting lost (especially accompanied by two Gryffindors), he stares around, trying to carve those images in his mind, but everything looks the same at this point. Quite honestly, he doesn’t quite care what those girls, in particular, think of him, but to hell, if he’s gonna let them gossip around to their little lion friends about him… Roman’s got a tough guy reputation to keep, or so he likes to think.

The wind blows colder — making him regret leaving the common room — and there’s too much green for this boy to handle. Maybe he should find a way for them to head back without seeming obvious that he has no idea where they went, he tells himself, his dark eyes darting around the trees, as he prepares for an “escape“ plan. The thought is comforting but requires a lot of concentration from his part.

He’s sure that he can simply turn around at some point if he distracts them enough. Those two probably haven’t noticed they’re getting further away from the castle by the minutes. Hm, the Slytherin considers it. Sounds like a plan to him.

Roman only stops walking when he hears one of the girls’ broken voice. He turns to find Katrina wincing, visibly in pain. He freezes for a second, with no thought, head empty, unsure of what to do.

“Oi,” he says intelligently, “Are ya ok there? Wot happened?”

Then the redhead goes on to ask for two sticks, and he finds himself moving before he can even think about it. Once he finds the straight sticks that she asked, Roman walks towards her. Lowering himself and handing them to her. He stops, awkwardly, staring at her, with a frown on his face.
