Mystery Meeting

Lilith wasn't going to the abandoned toilets. She wasn't.
She just happened to walk by after her charms class.
She just happened to open the door and take a look.
The inside was... well, even worse than she had imagined. Lowering her head to avoid a huge spider web, she took a few steps inside the room. The gloomy atmosphere didn't stop her, though she wondered if she was allowed to be here, before shrugging. If it was forbidden, the door would be locked, right ?
Hearing the floor crack, her head wipped around. False alert. Was this place making her nervous ? No. Absolutly not, she promised herself. She kept progressing in the room. She didn't know what exactly she was looking for, but curiosity pushed her further. Lilith looked around, detailling the ceramic tiles on the wall, that must have been white once, the booths with the doors that weren't closing anymore, and the ceiling she could barely see through the spider webs.
"Okay, so when they say abandoned toilets, they really mean abandoned."
Lilith shivered slightly. This place was starting to give her the creeps. But she didn't leave, like she felt something was there. Like she had something to find in this place.

Mystery Meeting
Clodagh was in her second most favourite place, her first being the astronomy tower. The older Gryffindors were making fun of her height again and she needed to go somewhere to clear her head. She chose the abandoned toilets.
Why?
Well, there would most likely be a class going on in the astronomy tower and she would hate for someone to see her upset.
When she reached her chosen destination she went and hid in one of the damaged stalls at the end where it was nice and secluded. Clodagh hadn’t a clue how long she had been there for, but when she heard footsteps, she jumped.
No one ever comes in here!
She thought. She changed her position a bit to look out the stall. She seen a fellow Gryffindor girl from her year, Lilith Darcy. The girl came in her direction but turned around again.
Phew!
Clodagh backed away into the stall again hoping the Darcy girl would leave, but the floor beneath her made a noise
Crack
The second the noise was made her heart jumped in her throat. She held her breath hoping the girl never heard her, but she never left the abandoned toilets. This was going to be a long day….

Mystery Meeting
Maelys did not intend to end up in the abandoned toilets. Really, there were very few places she would prefer less. However, with the complication of moving stairways, fakeout doors, and confusing passages, the Hogwarts castle made where you ended up more fate than preference. She had counted the staircases this time after the dueling room incident. The third one ought to take her down to the Slytherin dungeon. However, unsurprisingly, as most things did in an enchanted castle, it behaved erratically. That or the young witch's math skills had been off. Mae refused to acknowledge the latter as an option.

Instead, the young witch got distracted. She had been staring at the stone walls and willing them to give her a sense of where the hell she was when she caught site of two figures, both approaching the same door. Maelys was not the exploring type. She stuck to the same routes and routines with little deviation: classes, great hall, library, courtyards, common room. That was it. She did not go gallivanting around the castle on her own. Who knows what she could get into? The Japanese girl had entered the magical world mere months ago. She did not trust the castle's corridors not to contain various creatures, booby traps, or who-knows-what-else.

Still, Maelys was, on occasion, an optimist. She wasn't dumb at the very least. Two people going the same way probably meant it was the right way to go. Perhaps the two she had seen knew where they were going and could offer her advice. The Slytherin took purposeful steps as to catch up quickly.

Maelys came to a door after a short while. It seemed vaguely unassuming in nature. They went through here, no? She caught a faint whiff of something unsavory. Was this a storage closet for potions ingredients? Why would they have gone in then? Her curiosity got the best of her so she stepped inside— an unfortunate decision.

"This is not a hallway!" The intonation of the Slytherin girl's voice rose as she processed her surroundings. The first thing Mae noticed was the disgusting odor, then the toilets, then the sinks. This couldn't be a bathroom currently used by Hogwarts students. There was grime everywhere. She took a careful step forward, keeping her body far from anything it could possibly touch. She wouldn't want any of this on her clothes.

Both of the blurs she saw were present— girls of around her own age. What were they doing in here? This was not a place to hang out with friends. It was barely a place at all. Still, as to remain her composure, Maelys transformed her face of disgust into a hesitant smile. "What is this place?" The question was inevitable given her first reaction. "Why is it so gross?" She chewed on her lower lip. Hopefully she hadn't interrupted anything major. Rational thought told her that she ought to turn around but her curiosity got the best of her. Besides, it would be rude to leave without waiting for a response.

Mystery Meeting
Lilith heard a crack and nearly jumped, her head whipping around, but she saw no one. However, the sound was clearly footsteps. She mustered all her dignity and acted like she hadn't be scared three seconds ago, hoping the mystery person didn't see her startle. Great. Someone. She began to look around for the person, and she finally got to one of the stalls in the back. Inside was standing a girl. Well, at least it's not a teacher. Her dark gaze detailed the girl. She her age, with straight brown hair and blue eyes. Lilith realized she knew her: she was a Gryffindor too. Searching for the girl name in her mind, Lilith spoke up.
"Hi. What are you doing here ?"
She then realized the girl looked upset, like she was on the verge of crying. Great. Lilith was shockingly bad as dealing with others' emotions, but she tried nonetheless.
"Hum... Are you okay ?"

Suddenly, a voice rose in the dark: "What is this place ? Why is it so gross ?"
Lilith sighed. All Hogwarts decided to reunite here or... ? Her eyes on the Gryffindor girl in front of her, still trying to remember her name, she answered the voice:
"Abandoned toilets. Are you lost ?"
She hope the newcomer wasn't and was about to leave. One crisis at a time, please.

Mystery Meeting
As soon as the floor cracked Clodagh jumped to her feat and tried thinking of a way to sneak out without being noticed. She jump on the damaged toilet to try and climb up the wall, but it looked like it would break any moment which sure wouldn’t help her case. She heard the footsteps coming her way again, she did not feel like socialising with anyone at the moment. The second Lilith came in front of her she put her guards up. The Darcy girl then spoke up.
”Hi. What are you doing here?”
Clodagh tried to blink away her tears before the other girl noticed them.
”Hum… Are you okay?”
Whilst Clodagh was thinking up a million excuses in her head the smell of expensive perfume filled her nose and a new voice spoke up.
”What is this place? Why is it so gross?”
Clodagh felt like screaming.
Was there a party in the abandoned toilets tonight that she didn’t know about? she thought.
Before she could answer the mystery girl Lilith spoke up.
”Abandoned toilets. Are you lost?”
In Clodagh’s opinion, that was a silly question to ask.
Why?
Well it was obvious that this girl was lost since she had asked where she was. Clodagh started bouncing back and forth on the balls of her feet with impatience as the new girl was yet to answer…

Mystery Meeting
Was she lost? What did the girl think she was doing here? Having a party? She, unlike other people apparently, did not hang out in the midst of stinky toilets on a regular basis. The question in and of itself provided sufficient information to confirm that the curly-haired Gryffindor wasn't lost. She knew about this place and was consciously choosing to spend time in it.

Maelys gave her a glance of suspicion but swallowed her first thoughts. They were rather rude. On the other hand, telling them that she was lost looked lame. It was like painting the word 'INCOMPETENT' on her forehead in big, block letters. "Well, this really lame moving staircase kind of dumped me here instead of at my common room," she started, "So there's that." The Slytherin let out a small, stifled chuckle, shifting her feet awkwardly. It was a white lie, potentially, if a lie at all. She had omitted the word 'lost' specifically but the meaning was there.

She turned her attention to the other girl. Long hair, blue eyes, also a Gryffindor... She seemed upset, as if she had been crying before the other two had entered. One one hand, this provided further reason to leave. It didn't seem like she wanted to be surrounded at the moment.

However, on the other hand, she couldn't leave the girl in good conscience. Seeing others upset made the Slytherin upset. Besides, Mae didn't yet trust the curly-haired Gryffindor's ability to give good advice off of the first impression she got from the girl. (Mind you, said impression was less than a minute long. Maelys was decisive.)

Hence, she stayed once more. Maelys took a few steps towards where the others were but stayed quiet as she waited for the second Gryffindor's response. Hopefully they didn't plan to be in here for too long. The filthy surroundings were wearing on her.
