Magical experience of a muggle-born
As a muggle-born, I have never heard of Hogwarts until I was eleven years old. It was unbelievable to me and my parents were not ready to accept the fact. But I knew that this would be the starting of a new story in my life. I was unsure about what is going to happen next but I was determined to face everything with courage because I knew that I was born magical for a reason.
Finally I sat on the Hogwarts express which shovelled the steam as it moved forward with a soft and rhythmic sound of its moving wheels. It was really a calming experience. I saw many seniors on the train and heard them talking about the teachers, the prefects and other higher authority. I sat quietly near the window and watch the scenery outside. Finally, we were told to change our clothes and wear our uniform and robes.
That time, I really felt like a witch and the experience was magical.
It was a crisp autumn weather and I could feel the cold winds gushing on my cheeks, I felt a bit nervous as well as over-joyed.
We sat on boats and while we were crossing the river, in a distance I saw a great castle covered partially in mist. I was sure that it was Hogwarts.
We were led into the Great Hall where all the students sat according to their houses. The teachers were sitting there too. The hall was decorated with candles, chandeliers, portraits other magical things which I have never seen before But as a new comer, we were made to stand in a queue for the sorting ceremony. I didn't understand what it was until I saw a hat being kept on the head of the student. The hat is the one that decides houses!? I was shocked as well as impressed.
Then it was my turn. I could feel my heartbeat increasingly rapidly. With shaky legs and sweaty hands and an excited and nervous mind, I proceeded forward. I sat on the small stool kept for the students. The hat was kept on my head and it almost covered my eyes, I kept my eyes closed and tried to calm myself. Finally, it shouted Hufflepuff.
