"I can't say that I can think of a single terrible thing I've been through where I can say I learned anything helpful." replied Illowy openly "If anything, they've been more destructive in the long term then anything else." added on the fellow Slytherin, who answered honestly back to him. She seemed to have a past that marked her, a wound which would never go away not matter what she did "That's what you think for now, but maybe in the future you'll recognise those experiences have made you stronger" Chris said as he looked to the right of him with a brief and comforting smile. Everyone had a way with dealing with the past, it just takes time to find it at times.

Chris slowly walked around another corner of the maze, his eyes looking for anything familiar as they travelled down the leaking tunnel "I think were almost there... hopefully" he said as he brought a hand to his hair, trying to get rid of the water collecting on his head. In the distance, a small light could be seen on the far side of the corridor "Look over there" nodded the boy over towards the light, maybe it was the entrance and their ticket out of here. The clothes he was wearing was starting to get heavy, probably due to the amount of water it had soaked up. Next time, he was going to be prepared for such adventures and not have a repeat of this disaster. However, it did have a positive in some way. Bumping into Illowy in the most random place was a shock, but a welcome one, forgetting something like this was going to be hard "You know, even though my planned adventure was a total disaster, it still turned out to be something of an experience" chuckled the boy to himself "There's no need to be sorry for what you did, it was my fault in the first place"

The girl smiled a bit to herself, more at what she saw at naivete then any level of humor as he tried to assure her that one day such terrible things would make her stronger, "Perhaps some day..." it seemed easier to simply agree with him. How could she expect him to understand the horrors that she'd seen? Especially when he had such limited understanding of what the wizarding world could offer, both fantastical and terrible. To her, such ignorance would be bliss. Best to allow him such ideas. She could offer him that kindness for now. It was only a matter of time before he understood.

As they wandered on, Illowy wrapped her free hand around herself, trying to keep in whatever warmth she might have left in her. She felt absolutely chilled to the bone, and was hardly the type built to endure cold; even less did she enjoy being wet in any capacity aside from bathing. At the front of her mind was to get out of this place as swiftly as they could. The moment they were out of there, she wanted to go straight to the Common Room and plop herself in front of the fireplace and never move. She could envision it now...

Of course, the cozy thought was waved off when Chris brought her attention to nearing light at the end of the tunnel, "Thank Merlin." she muttered. She then gave him a strange look as chattered on and chuckled, "This was a plannedadventure." she couldn't help but laugh, "You, lad, are a terrible planner then." she spoke, smoothing some wet hair out of her face, "And I'm not sorry. Well, I am sorry for knocking you about, but I'm not sorry for following. You never know what strange happenings may go on in this school and I'd rather stick my neck out then run. Better down only one then the lot, you know."

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
