Walnut wands are often found in the hands of magical innovators and inventors; this is a handsome wood possessed of unusual versatility and adaptability. Arcadia has light blonde hair that falls just past her shoulders and often frames to hide her face when worn down. She has piercing light blue eyes, full lips and thick eyebrows - a beauty reminiscent in all Ducain women. But, despite inheriting these good looks from her family, Arcadia is far from the perfect pureblood princess her parents had envisioned.

She has a small delicate figure, but despite this you will never find her wearing a dress. She is an adventurous tom-boy, who doesnt mind getting her hands dirty in the herbology greenhouses and batting down a few bludgers on the quidditch pitch. She tends -- when not in uniform to prefer wearing baggy boys clothes and chunky trainers, and her general mannerisms and expressions make her seem a little intimidating and cold/passive when meeting someone for the first time.

A Slytherin Aries is a bundle of contradictions.
In some ways, they have the potential to be the strongest of their House - the intensity, drive, and brilliant visionary dreams of the Aries combined with the innate leadership skills, the charisma, and the profound sense of self (including the eccentric lack of interest in conforming to what other people think) is stuff of which great magical legends are made. However, a Slytherin Aries has much to learn about politics, knowing who is an appropriate object of trust and who is not trustworthy, knowing when to keep one's mouth shut, and knowing when to avoid acting on impulse in order to use a situation to its best advantage. Although they hate to admit it, these Slytherins are easily manipulated by more cynical, shrewd peers in the Serpent's Den. If they can learn to manage their blind spots, they will go far. Slytherin Aries types can be quite cruel, especially if they have enough physical prowess to bully smaller students; those that are not cruel can still be thoughtless and brutally tactless without actually meaning to cause damage.

Arcadia Ducain is the only child of Aurelius and Estella Ducain. Born and raised in Wiltsire, (known for pre historic sites - such as Stonehenge) Cady -- as she likes to be known, has come from a long lineage of proud, aristocratic, pureblood wizards and witches dating back decades. The Ducain family (her fathers side) are well known among the wizarding communities of Great Britian for being innovators and intellectuals with strong will power and determination.

Mostly, the family members belonged to Ravenclaw house, but sometimes they were sorted into the other houses. Slytherin however was seen as a particularly bad omen. Her mother (also coming from a pureblood background of influence) had been betrothed to her father through a marriage, arranged in their final year at Hogwarts - but they had already built a relationship prior to this when they were both sorted into Ravenclaw.

Aurelius Ducain was a naturally wealthy man by birth right, but he was ambitious and smart too. He got a job at the Ministry in the Department of Mysteries, and not long after that, Estella fell pregnant with Arcadia. (In the Ducain family men were placed above women in stature, and her Grandfather was particularly disappointed when their first born was a girl - the first ever in a whole generation.) Despite this, Aurelius and Estella loved their daughter and ignored certain family members negative remarks.

Even then, as a young child, Cady was different. Her mother set up play dates with other pureblood families and where as the other girls played graceful tea parties with pretty porcelain dolls, Arcadia thought pretending to be a dinosaur and knocking things over to annoy the girls was so much more entertaining. She was unruly and boyish and she preferred exploring the outdoors to sitting a stuffy room studying etiquette with her mother's snobby friends - she was nothing like the pureblood princess they had envisioned their daughter to be.

As she got older she became more rebellious, never adhering to the rules and regulations her mother and father tried so desperately to invoke on her - but the more they pushed for Arcadia to be, or do one thing, the more she seemed to push to be, or do the very opposite.

A late bloomer, Arcadia showcased a magical ability at age ten, (and just in time as her parents concern's about her abilities began to grow) when she transformed the hand in her deck to win a card game with friends. It was a small insignificant gesture of magic, but a gesture non the less.

Her parents were just pleased she wasnt a squib, and that she was going to Hogwarts.
