First week of classes and Leo already felt like there was so much he needed to work on. With 8 classes every week, it was going to be information overload for the young wizard. His parents were going to expect a good report in his letters home about how he was doing in school so it was time for him to hit the books, literally. As soon as he finished his last class for the day Leo took his books with him down to the Hogwarts Library.
When he opened the tall doors that led inside he was immediately awestruck. Obviously he knew there would be a lot of books, but this was even more than he imagined. It was probably at least double the size of the library he visited often back home. His tutor usually would take him to study in the quiet study rooms. Now he was going to have to use what he learned from his tutor on his own here.
Leo looked around the place, it was surprisingly busy for it only being the first week of classes. Great, where am I going to go? He thought to himself as he walked around trying to find a quiet spot for himself. Finally he found a table all the way in the back that had no one at it yet, the perfect place for him to focus on his studying in peace.

The Blythe girl spent most of her time in the library. Sometimes it was for reading, sometimes for studying, but always, it was for a kind of refuge. When the library was quiet, it became one of the few places where she felt safe.
Quiet, however, was the important part.
Hogwarts had been open for less than a week, and yet Victoria found herself staring into a library already filled with too many bodies, too much noise, too many interruptions. A faint crease marked her pale brow as her blue eyes swept over the crowded room. Wonderful. Crowds were something she had never tolerated well. But she needed to review her notes for Potions, and this—this haven of books—was the only place that could give her the focus she required.
Her bag hung from one shoulder, the strap biting into her palm as she clutched it tightly, a small anchor against the prickle of stares she imagined—or perhaps truly felt—lingering on her. With quiet determination, she slipped through the aisles, weaving past tables already claimed by groups of noisy students, until she reached the farthest end of the library.Every table seemed occupied.
And then—her gaze caught on a single, blessed sight. One of the back tables, almost swallowed by shadow, was occupied by only one student. A boy. He looked young, perhaps a first-year, with dark hair that fell over his face, obscuring his expression. Relief flickered across Victoria’s features, quick as a candle flame.
Drawing in a careful breath, she approached, her footsteps hushed against the floor. For a moment she lingered, the words trembling on the edge of her tongue, before she leaned ever so slightly toward him and spoke in a voice meant not to disturb anyone else.
“…I hope I’m not intruding,” she murmured softly, her tone polite, cautious, almost apologetic, as she set her bag gently onto the chair opposite him. Her voice was quiet, but pitched just enough for him to hear. A pause, then, with the smallest trace of hesitation— “…Everywhere else is full. May I sit?”

Leo had begun diving into his astronomy book, writing in his notebook anything that seemed important that they might need to remember. First week into classes and he was already confused with astronomy. He didn’t understand how this was going to help him in the future so he was less interested in the class in general. The notes he took in class were all over the place, trying to write down what the professor was talking about but he still felt like he wasn’t understanding it all. He decided to try to rewrite his notes while also going through his astronomy book so that it would hopefully start to make sense.
With the low hum of other students talking quietly throughout the crowded library he almost didn’t hear the girl who had came over to his table to join him. He glanced up at her, listening as she spoke before nodding. “Sure, go ahead, I don’t mind.” Leo watched as she took the seat across the table before lifting his book up a little to read the first chapter over again. Leo let out a low groan as he put the textbook back down and started writing in his notebook. “Stupid stars,” he said softly to himself and shook his head as he tried to copy down any important information into his notes.
