Meghan’s tears (anyone can approach)
Meghan had gotten bored sitting in her dorm room, so she had decided to wander down to the library. She passed the Greta hall, and the kitchens, then managed to take a wrong turn and end up in the complete wrong place. Embarrassed, she had turned around and started roaming around the castle completely lost. When she stumbled across the library, it was a pure accident. She’s been sure she was outside potions...
Meghan wanted to know about the magic word. That’s why she was in the library - to do some reading about the simple things surrounding the wizarding world and hogwarts itself. So she had grabbed a book that looked like it could be helpful, and proceeded to one of many tables that were scattered across the room at random.
Meghan hopes that someone would approach her, she soon got bored reading the big book that she had selected and most of the phrases she didn’t know anyway. Meghan crosses her arms and buried her head in them, hiding her tears behind her thick blonde hair. Nothing was going right for her. First, she had been assigned this stupid house, then she had gone and made a fool of herself and now this. Why oh why couldn’t she have been a Ravenclaw?
Usually her mum would be here to comfort her, to distract her. But she wasn’t. She was back in Scotland with the rest of Meghan family. This thought only made her cry harder, and although she was silent she had no doubt people had noticed something was wrong.

Meghan’s tears (anyone can approach)
The young Gryffindor stepped into the library, and almost instantly he felt something was different. The silence that greeted him was almost more overwhelming than the sound the came from outside the library. Every little noise someone made from within was heard, tearing through the silence before drifting away and the pure quiet was restored. Stephan closed the door gently behind him, digging into his pocket for a crumpled piece of paper he had long shoved down there. Unfolding it, he internally read his own note to himself. Find a book about charms that is easier to read than the school assigned one. Looking back up, he nodded his head, resigned to his own mission, before searching the library.
He underestimated how many books there were. As he walked passed flickering candles and dangling chandeliers, he also walked past thicker and thicker shelving units, all tightly packed with books. Once he found the section that was filled to the brim with books about charms, he then had to find a book that was for first-years and was reasonably readable. I can't even reach high enough to get half of the books, he thought. His hand brushed neatly against the various spines, merely an act of defeat rather than actually searching for a book. The Gryffindor tried thinking of any authors he knew that wrote such books he was looking for, but he already didn't read much nonfiction and everyone he came up with wrote only muggle informational literature. Sighing, almost too loudly in such a quiet library, he crouched down, searching the bottom shelf for anything before going back to the common room and reading his actual assignment.
And it was right then when he spotted it. A nice, thin, book with pleasing colors and a clear objective labeled on the spine. Simple, easy, and intuitive charms for people of all ages! The only thing he could think of was the sheer perfection of it all. This was perfect. He slipped out the book, noting where it was placed among the others so he would be able to return it later, and sauntered over to one of the tables. He plopped down into one of the chairs, paying little to no attention to the girl who was already sitting at the table. Opening up his book, he started skimming through it. The gentle sound of page-turning occupied most of his focus, but then he realized it was becoming drowned out by something else. A sound coming from the girl near him. Looking up, he noticed her face was buried in her arms and she was very apparently crying.
"Oh, wow," he said, a little too loudly for the quiet library. Hunching down in his chair, he nudged her gently. "Hey, you okay?" he whispered.

Meghan’s tears (anyone can approach)
Penelope walked into the library. The last time she had been here, she had been talking to Selim, they boy she had so quickly ran away from at the peak of their conversation. This place brought many bad memories to Penelope, but obviously the girl at a table nearby was having a worse time. She was crying, and Penelope figured it was best to hang back for a little, and observe.
Instead of talking to the sobbing girl, Penelope sat down at the table next to her's. She pulled a science book out of her book bag and began reading. It took awhile, but a boy sat down next to the girl. He said something, although Penelope didn't catch what it was. Next, a girl came over. She was rather loud, but got her point across. "Hey! What's wrong? Why're you crying?" the girl had asked.
Penelope realized now was her perfect chance to walk over. "Hallo there, I notice you're having a bad day. Is there anything I can do to help? Perhaps if you had a sugar quill you might stop your crying." said Penelope. She handed the girl a sugar quill she had gotten at Weasley's Wizard Weases. She said all of this quietly, so as not to disturb anyone else.
Penelope grabbed her book bag and sat in the chair next to the girl. "So, what is everyone's names here? I'm Penelope. You can call me Penny." She said. She left her hand outstretched for anyone to shake.
