Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Neculai was too distracted. One minute he was cheering for his team as they had quickly hit one of their biggest threats hard on the field, only to quickly realise that a bludger hit Emma aswell. Luckily Ruthie had caught her and she was still on the field.
"Focus!" Neculai thought to himself as he adjusted his glasses once more. He took a deep breath and then tried locate that shimmering gold.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
As the whistle sounded the match, the Ravenclaw flew off, her eyes scanning for that dangerous ball of iron. Everyone had begun and she watched the chasers fight for possession of the Quaffle out of the corner of her eye. Her focus wasn't on the chasers. Startled from the whistle she should have already been acquainted with, she looked down at Lavinia and smiled. It was natural, and the blatch was only first in the round of fire.
Before she could congratulate her, Emma caught a glint of sparkling metal, however, it wasn't the snitch. With the first crack of the bat, she dispatched it to Erin but to her surprise, she was hit. She didn't even get to see if it made contact or not. Clutching her stomach, she sealed her eyes, refusing to watch the ground get closer and closer. The closest she'd ever come to a feeling like this was pushing her limit on a swingset.
How long did it take to fall? Still in shock, she opened her eyes and took her last gasp of air. The ground looked closer than ever, and there was nothing she could do to brace herself because she didn't want to. Feet seemed like inches until the sky met her vision. "Ru!" Came out an appreciative call. Eyes scanning the stadium for Erin, her choice of target, she gave a half sigh and Jorah's voice played like a record inside her head. Just when things couldn't possibly get better.
"Go for the pair?" Emma thought, swinging her bat as she scanned for the next bludger. She didn't want to overthink anything. Their seeker had found the snitch, and Slytherin's deadly player still remained. All she needed was one lucky shot.

~ * ~Ruby watched the game from the bench. A lot was happening in the first moments of the match. Elena had grabbed the Quaffle but seemed to get distracted and had completely missed the goal, but everyone had off days now and then so she couldn't really be to blame. One of the Ravenclaws flew towards Erin, trying to knock her off her broom, but failed and had to take a penalty lap. Just a moment later, Ruby watched, wide-eyed, as a bludger flew towards the girl. She somehow managed to hit a bludger back at the girl who had targeted her right as she went plummeting towards the ground. Elena went falling down immediately after, and only Nico seemed prepared to save people.
Ruby looked on with apprehension as Nico had to make the choice of who to save. Erin was apparently the lucky one, as Nico successfully caught her. Ruby tried to look away but couldn't as Elena landed with a horrible thud. She tried not to think about the pain that the chaser must have been in for a moment before she blacked out, and she reminded herself that magic could fix the injuries. Reacting instantly, Ruby leapt up, mounted her broom, and sped into the sky. Her gaze darted around the pitch, providing her with more analyses than she could get from below. Koko called to her from across the pitch and Ruby grinned, touched by her friend's encouragement. Thora had also said a similar thing before Ruby had taken off, and she was boosted by their words. She was alert and full of energy, prepared to play.~ * ~

Of course she would be called for a penalty and forced to take a lap but why so early in the game, she was so excited to play and ready to get her hands on the quaffle. But all she could do now is just take her lap and evaluate the other team. From what she had saw so far she knew that the seeker was ready to end the game and Erin had very sharp reflexes. So sharp that she had cost this lap to happen. All that Lavinia tried to do was see the positive in doing her lap but she could not help it if she felt ashamed.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Round 2 Results
The first round had been quite eventful, with several people falling off their brooms and one player already needing medical assistance from the Hospital Wing. Now that it was the second game, who knew what else would happen this time around? Would there be more carnage? Would Dan be able to catch the Snitch, or would Neculai eventually be able to catch up and take the Snitch from him?
Shockingly enough, even when the Quaffle was released back in the air, none of the chasers went after it. It seemed that they had other plans in mind. The Keepers would find themselves either bored or relieved that they didn’t have to worry about having to defend their goalposts from any incoming Quaffles.

Result: Cecily fails to blatch Dan.
The Ravenclaws were already onto Dan. Once they saw him flying towards one specific direction, they knew what had to be done. They had to get rid of him as soon as possible before he got his hands on the Snitch. That was why it was up to Cecily to make sure that would have never happened. It was a risky choice. She had already witnessed her teammate attempt the same tactic against Erin and get called out on her foul. Would she be successful this time? There was no easy way to tell, but she still had to try. She would attempt to zoom towards Dan and barrel herself against him.
However, much like last time, the attempt would fail. Instead of crashing against Dan, she would propel herself in one particular direction and discover that she hadn’t met her target. Like her predecessor, she would find that her efforts, however admirable the would be, were ultimately in vain. A familiar shrill whistle would sound, and the referee called out:
“Cecily Quinn! One penalty lap for attempted blatching!

But that wouldn’t be the end of it. Emma may have been saved last time, but that didn’t mean she was completely safe. While Erin may not have been able to fully finish the job, Alexx would make sure she would finish what Erin had started. Of course, she wouldn’t be able to throw bludgers towards her and her partner, Ruthie, but she could try something else.
Similar to what Cecily had done, she would attempt to collide herself against the pair. This time, it worked. Ruthie and Emma would be both knocked from their brooms and they would plunge towards the ground and crash. Hard.
“Alexx Séverin! One penalty lap for attempted blatching!” The referee would yell out as the sound of the whistle screeched once again.
For some audience members, it must have been a frightening sight to see. From the previous round, Elena had already suffered from quite a painful dive, but seeing two people drop at the same time was surprising. But it couldn’t be helped. Part of the Quidditch experience involved the risk of breaking several bones while falling from a great height, and that was nothing the Hospital Wing wouldn’t be able to fix. It may have been unpleasant, but it never stopped people from wanting to continue playing the sport all the same.
Penalty Lap
Result: Lavinia completes her one round penalty lap
While the rest of the Chasers were either trying to blatch each other or were left flying around in case someone else fell, Lavinia would be found all by herself, flying around the field in order to make up for her previous foul. Unfortunately for her, the field was rather large, and she would find herself unable to do anything as she saw her teammates fall. Still, she got the job done, and after one lap of flying, she was free to head back in the game to assist her team again.

The Ravenclaws were determined to bring Dan down. It wasn’t enough that Cecily had tried to crash herself against him, but alas, there was more in store for the Slytherin Seeker. Before the blatch that would bring the duo down, Emma had managed to strike one more bludger towards the Seeker. Fortunately for Dan, it wouldn’t be easy to get to him, as Erin and Nico stepped in to bat the bludger away. With considerable skill and deftness, Erin would deflect the bludger away from Dan, and while she would attempt to reflect the bludger back at Emma and Ruthie, the duo only narrowly missed the shot. Not that it would have helped them in the end, but at least they would have been able to avoid further damage than what had already been caused.

Not all the Ravenclaws were interested in Dan. Jorah would try to hurl a bludger towards Alexx instead. It was a smart move on his part. With so much focus on Dan, it was good to diversify their targets a bit if they wanted to take down as many Slytherins as possible. The bludger would hit Alexx, but it wasn’t enough to knock her down. It may have left her with a broken rib, but Alexx was strong. She wouldn’t let one single bludger bring her down.
Jorah’s bludger would ricochet again, seemingly aiming for Dan as if the bludger itself shared Ravenclaw’s general goal and was trying to take him down as well. But Erin and Nico wouldn’t allow that to happen. They would try to strike back against the bludger, but they would end up missing narrowly. Still, they would prove that, much like Alexx, they wouldn’t be so easy to take down.

Seeing Dan had already found the Snitch must have motivated Neculai somehow. Or maybe there was a different reason altogether to this newfound motivation. Either way, he would see it. That glimmer of gold that always managed to fly past his grasp. Now it was up to him to catch the Snitch, assuming Dan hadn’t already gotten his hands on it. Maybe if he was lucky enough, he would have gotten some time to catch up to Dan and gain the advantage over him. But unfortunately for him, luck wouldn’t be on his side today.
Dan had his eye on the Snitch, and he was so close to catching it too. He needed to win this for the rest of his team. If he succeeded, that would have marked the second victory Slytherin had over Ravenclaw from their previous game together. It would have also been the victory they needed after the time they lost to Hufflepuff. He needed this.
Seeing that the Snitch was close, he would attempt to reach out for it. Bridget would be on his side, giving him a boost by spinning Dan around and flinging him towards the Snitch. Surely enough, he grabbed the Snitch from the air. He wouldn’t let it go any time soon. A final whistle would echo throughout the stadium.
“Dan Palmer has caught the Snitch! Slytherins Wins!”
As if on cue, the crowd would cheer on for the victory. As it turned out, the Slytherins would make their comeback by winning their second game. The Ravenclaws may have had their winning streak interrupted, but that didn’t mean all hope was lost for them either. They put up a good performance for the game, and they still had time to train and win future games as well.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Green eyes darted up and down the Pitch intently as green and blue-cloaked figures fought for the Quidditch Win. A span of mere minutes proved to be invaluable to Thora's own team. Both teams failed to score, but there was quite a bit of contact between the players. As Alexx, the blonde third year whom Thora both respected and feared, flew at Ruthie and her team captain whom she was carrying, the Slytherin's breath caught in her throat. Of course, for the sake of the game, Thora cared more about her own teammates, but she rather liked Ruthie. So, when the two Ravenclaw girls were sent flying to the cold, frost-hardened earth below, Thora's eyes were widened with horror.
Things continued to go quite well for the sneks, though, as Dan evaded several of the Eagles' attempts to knock him off his broom. Thora found it hard to find the Snitch herself, sitting on the sidelines with the full brunt of the wind on her face, but she had no problem believing that their captain had spotted it. Although Bludgers went flying everywhere, the Slytherin team stood through it, not unharmed, but somehow gripping onto their broom with all they had. Alexx took a pretty heavy hit, as did Nico and Erin, who were sharing a broom. Thora cringed just to hear the loud cracks as Jorah, a Ravenclaw beater whom Thora happened to have met at the ball, smacked at the heavy balls relentlessly.
The girl was beginning to get more than a bit worried for her teammates, who had obviously taken quite a few heavy hits, when success finally found the green-clad team. Success in the form of a tiny, gold, winged ball. Dan had caught the Snitch. Their victory was a bit bitter to Thora, as her eyes once again strayed to Ruthie's spread-eagled form on the ground of the Pitch, but they had finally won. They had regained their pride.
"Good job, guys!" Thora yelled to her first-string (and one second-string) team as they slowly descended from the sky. Snatching up her Nimbus 1700 and rushing towards the others, she hoped to get out of the locker room as soon as possible. There were a couple people in the Hospital Wing she needed to visit, and while her first duty was to her team, her loyalty to her friends came next.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Alexx didn't know what to expect. This wasn't the first time that she'd made an attempt to knock Emma off her broom, anyway. The last time didn't work. And when she sent Serena flying down last game, she ended up getting saved. So, in truth, Alexx had no idea how this play was going to go.
That's why when Alexx watched Emma and the other girl tumble to the ground, she gasped, putting a hand over her mouth. Even as she was called to take a penalty lap, she was so in shock that she almost didn't move.
What did move her was a bludger to the ribs. Alexx clutched her broom for dear life, no matter her instinct to throw a hand over the wound. She found it rather odd that beaters were allowed to hit iron balls at you with the intent of knocking you out, but the minute that Alexx tried to push an opponent off their broom (which had to of hurt far less than a hunk of metal smacking into you) that was deemed wrong.
In pain, Alexx was ready to take her penalty lap when another call caught her attention. "Dan Palmer has caught the snitch! Slytherin wins!" Truth be told, Alexx was relieved for more than one reason. Not only did Slytherin now have a win under their belt, but she could make her way to the hospital wing without spending another second on this field where she would otherwise be a flying target.
Exit Alexx.

Nico was right. The tense air between her and Erin wasn't the same as last time. She could actually sense some kindness in this purple haired girl. Erin had a point. They were a bigger target with her by her side. But that wasn't going to stop Nico from trying.
'Hm.. Might be. But we don't have much time to bring you to your broom. It'll have to do.' Once more Nico looked over her shoulder. 'Who knows. It might be fun!' A grin appeared on her face that almost seemed mischievous.
There wasn't much time for chit-chat because the Ravens were already aiming for the Snake's Captain. A first attempt to blatch him failed. Nico hadn't seen their Captain this focused. Did he actually managed to see the Snitch?
'Erin, Dan needs someone to watch his back. You ready for this?' Whichever Erins answer would be, Nico sped up to fly near Dan's rear.
The dhampir wasn't wrong... They were out to take him down and seize the price for themselves. Not on her watch. Together with the strongest ... well... bully of the team, they had to make some difference, right? A second Ravenclaw striked the Bludger towards Dan. Just in time, Nico moved up infront of Dan, giving Erin the opportunity to deflect the Bludger.
Nico noticed she tried to aim it back at the assualters but... no succes. No matter. They managed to defend Dan... Before Nico could compliment Erins powerful deflect, another Bludger was on its way. Their Captain really was a magnet today.
'Frick! Another!' Quickly, Nico pulled up once more to perfectly shield Dan from harm. The redhead noticed that Erin had sharp eyes and with a powerful crack, she deflected the Bludger once again.
'Nice shot!' The Prefect felt the adrenaline from their battle stream through her body. She hadn't been this excited for a while. They might've been a big target, but Nico knew she could count on Erin. She was fast and good at what she did. They were practically a flying shield. Amazing.
What they heard next was even more amazing: Dan caught the Snitch.
Victory for Slytherin! Nico wooped loud letting her fist pump in the air. She hadn't been this extroverted in a long time. Let alone, on the field where other students she didn't really know well could see her.
'A-Ah! Sorry, Erin. Nice work! Let me get us down.' Swiftly, Nico flew down, guaranteeing a soft landing. The grin on her face would stay there for a while as she looked forward for dinner.Nico exits the thread

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
It seemed that Koko's defensive skill-set would not be needed - in fact, she only sat near the goalposts, watching the game with wide eyes. It was a lapse of judgement on her part, but it was one that heeded no negative consequences, seeing that no one flew for the Quaffle; no, everyone seemed to have other plans.
Koko's formerly narrowed eyes had widened in shock when Alexx knocked Ruthie and Emma off of their shared broom. Someone having that much power, even if it was only on a broom... It was some serious woah. All the same, it didn't feel too good to watch two people go plummeting towards the hard earth below, especially when Koko knew that she might be subject to the same fate. It wasn't like her to enjoy this, so she didn't.
From Koko's perch high in the sky, she saw a bludger shoot toward Alexx - and ram her in the ribs. Now that had to be painful, and Koko was surprised that the French girl didn't fall off of her broom. Before she could react, however, another bludger flew towards Dan. It was a stroke of luck that Erin and Nico made an exceptionally wonderful team and managed to shoot the bludger toward Neculai - which didn't hit. Another stroke of luck on Slytherin's behalf would occur when the bludger that had struck Alexx somehow rebounded off of her body and went shooting for Dan. Erin managed to deflect it once more, and Dan's fist seemed to clench around something in the sky...
The referee announced Slytherin's win. They had won.
Koko flew down from the goalposts, shouting, "Great job, team!" as she went, a smile on her face. They had done it. They'd show Hufflepuff who was boss!

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Bridget flew around the Pitch, taking in everything that was happening. Alexx blatched a pair of Ravenclaws sharing a broom, sending them falling to the ground below. She cringed as they, just like Elena, had no one to save them and hit the ground with a thud. Still, Alexx's action definitely benefited the snakes. Although she didn't like the third year, she at least had some respect for her on the Quidditch Pitch--potentially dirty tactics or not, she was a valuable player.
Meanwhile, Dan was the target of all sorts of attacks, from a blatching that he thankfully dodged to several bludgers streaking his way. Erin and Nico were on fire, beating back any attack to come towards their Seeker. She wasn't sure where the Snitch was, but from Dan's zeroed-in flying it was obvious he had spotted it. With no one on her team in need of saving, she had to do something and helping Dan seemed like the best option.
Steering her Shooting Star so she was level with Dan, Bridget did the only thing she could think of to help. An Alley Oop. Swinging her teammate around, she channeled every ounce of her minimal strength into flinging Dan towards the thing that would win Slytherin this game. Almost immediately after she let go her ears were filled with the amazing sound, the sound that meant Slytherin had won.
"Good job, Slytherin!" she yelled over the din as she made her way to the ground. Bridget felt a bit of disappointment that the game was over so soon without giving her a chance to really be useful but right now was not the time to assess her personal performance. Now was a time to celebrate her with her team.Topic Left.
