Christina may have blushed a little when Amelia called her impressive. Even though she loves compliments, she can't take them very well. "It's no big deal, I just have way too much energy in my body to sit still all day", Christina responded humbly.
She noticed the other girl didn't seem like the type of person to sit still all day either. Throughout the entire conversation, it seemed like Amelia was always moving her arms around. It didn't seem to be from nervousness though, so Christina decided that the other girl must have had some pent up energy inside of her as well. She could clearly relate to the feeling of restlessness Amelia seemed to be having.
"Follow me!", Christina said with a big grin, enthusiasm radiating off of her face. It was unbelievable: she was making a friend who actually liked exercise as well. Christina set off again and started at a slow pace. There was some difficulty in keeping this pace, especially since her legs were still restless from the big jump, but it was always best to start off slow. Besides, she didn't want to scare off the other girl.
"So I usually run past the greenhouses, around the lake and back. This tends to take me 40 minutes, but perhaps we could cut off the route earlier", Christina told Amelia while trying to settle into the slow pace. She followed this up with some more information: "I also try to start off slow, but we can definitely pick up the speed a bit later!".
Christina sincerely hoped that the other girl would enjoy the run. Otherwise, she would not only feel bad for suggesting it, but she has also been looking running buddy, and she really liked Amelia. She decided to let these worries go, however, at least for the duration of this run.

"Pfft," Amelia dismissed Christina's humble response with a grin. She did recognize that feeling, thoughβ having too much energy, being unable to sit down. Oh, she and Christina would definitely get along well.
Amelia nodded as Christina called out, telling her to follow. And then, she was out of breath all over again, sprinting, leaving the world behind. Colours mixed into each other, like a smeared painting. Other trees jumped into view, other students went by. But all were left behind, while she flew forwards.
It was quite a challenge, trying to match the blonde girl's pace and not lag behind, while also processing what she said. Woah, if this was her slow, then Amelia would have to do a lot of work to keep up with her regular speed. Unfortunately, Amelia was no runner yet. Yet. Ah, she liked the sound of that. She could learn how to run faster. Practice and be as good as Christinaβ who, no matter how much effort Amelia put into her own running, stayed ahead.
She still needed to form an answer, though. She couldn't leave Christina hanging. "Sounds good!" she managed to choke out, the words stealing all the air left in her lungs. Her braid hit her back with every other step, and her legs hurt, which wasn't pleasant, but it was worth it. She had put effort in, and got exhilaration in return.
Amelia kept sprinting ahead, forgetting she'd been in a tree only minutes ago. "Hey, you know what? We should do this more often," Amelia called. The air was draining way too quickly all over again; she really needed to learn how to breathe properly while exercising. It made her voice sound a little pitchy, and perhaps she was panting rather loudly, but hey, she talked while running! That was quite an achievement.
