I have a group chat with only 6 people and I got like 200 messages in 5 minutes. If my class decided to make a group chat, I can't imagine the numbers of messages I'll get. ..

i would get 1,000 messages in my class group chat most of them were just 'hi's and i then left lols... thats too many messages to read daily

I had that for a whole year group chat and I deleted it, I regretted it ever since but I couldn’t get back on.

I had one last year too but it wasn’t nearly as active.

Yeah… I have a group chat with some friends (I mean all not super close) and some days I will be spammed with messages, others I won’t get a message for a week

Honestly I prefer not to have group chats. One on one is sometimes just better… and easier.
