Around 16:30 (4:30pm)
Location: Headliner Office

Silas had hardly paid attention to whatever this “Editor-in-Chief” role actually was. Some nonsense about newspapers… he wasn’t sure what he was meant to do, but whatever it was, he wouldn’t be doing it. He did want to check out this office after class, though, and see what it was like. A crumpled piece of paper was pulled out of his pocket. He unfolded it roughly and glanced down at the directions written on it, frowning slightly as he tried to figure out where he was actually going. This castle was a goddamn maze, and he wasn’t sure whether he would ever properly know his way around. Maybe he would, but certainly not within a single week or two; he was lucky if he made it to any of his classes somewhat on time. It wasn’t that he was bad with directions, necessarily — it was just that this place was fucking bonkers.

He finally made it to the right door — he wasn’t sure how long it had taken, but whatever, he was here now. Once inside, he started looking around and wandering between the desks, idly tapping on some as he passed by. He peered at everything with mild curiosity, poking at various stacks of paper and the like, then walked over to a printing press and examined it, fiddling with a handle before moving on. Bored already, he glanced around and then began meticulously moving all the items left out on people’s desks — not too much, just enough that it would likely feel sliiiightly off when those people returned. When he finished, he made his way to the biggest desk and flopped down on the seat, pushing it back so he could comfortably put his feet up on the desk, crossing them at the ankles.

It was still the first week of school and Oonagh could not be more excited for summer break to finally come and free her from this hell hole they called a boarding school. Her classes, as far as she had paid attention to them, were dreadful and she knew that her attendance really would be quite spotty. She was tired of classes like "Charms" and "Transfiguration" those did nothing for her and why would she care about History. Normal history was boring enough, this was just even worse.

Clubs were starting to pick up again and Oonagh knew she could use the afternoon to head to the headliner office, which's doors were now open again to them, and grab something she had left behind before the summer break. It was nothing urgent, just the ink well and feather she had gotten herself in Hogsmeade during her first year because she finally gave in to some extent, since her parents did not always send fresh ballpoint pens right away. So now she would sometimes, on occasion make herself use such fancy tools. It felt ridiculous and was not nearly as smooth as just using a gel or ink pen. The scratching of the feather on parchment being absolutely distracting and the amount of ink wells she had knocked over and spilled all over her work, rendering her work unusable made her desire to smash the inkwell against a wall and rip her feather apart.... well she had actually snapped at least three feathers in the last years, but those were clearly just incidents. And had cost hear dearly because those things were expensive. Wizard money absolutely made no sense.

As she regarded the door to the office she was unsure whether it had already been left unlocked yet, but part of her doubted it. So she quickly raised her foot and kicked it against the door. Hard. The door jumped open towards the inside of the room, swung fully and hit the wall with a resonating bang. Someone with "magic" could just fix it later, what did she care. Self-satisfied Oonagh continued her way intot he office unbothered and with the strong desire to do something stupid, when she saw a familiar face, sitting at the fancy desk that would have usually been reserved for that Ruby girl. Though that person was neither Ruby nor girl, and Oonagh huffed.

"Whit are ye doin' in ma spot?" she huffed as she approached the desk and the sitting figure. If anyone would be able to sit in that chair when the person it belonged to was absent, was her of course. Out of habit she walked over the desk that would have once belonged to Koko Riddle and tried figuring out a way to mess things up. With Silas as the only witness there she hardly cared about potential trouble and began switching around various post it notes and memos that she found on the desk and in the unlocked drawer. Potentially ruining hours of research and delaying many tasks, she hoped, unbeknownst and uncaring that this desk now belonged to another @livia machavariani.

After she was done with that and even more satisifed with herself if that was even possible, she turned to Silas, smugly and raised her eyebrow.

"Ye lost, eejit?" There was no actual bite behind the insult, it was spoken quite casually as if nothing more than the other's name. Well she had warned him of this, had she not? Promised it even. Which likely explained the smirk on her face as she made true of that promise now. She was simply curious what he of all people was doing her. Someone should be telling her to check a mirror.

He had only been sitting for a minute or two at most when a loud bang made him jump, the door flying open. “Jesus Chris’, issat ‘ow ya open any door? Li’l extra, innit? ‘Ave ya ever ‘eard of knockin’? Or door handles, fer tha’ ma’er?” He stared at the girl who had entered — a face and mass of hair that were starting to become quite familiar already — but he was smiling slightly. She knew how to make an entrance, he supposed. And truth be told, he was kind of glad to see her again — unlike some people, she wasn’t boring.

Yer spo’?” he repeated. “‘Ow could this be yer spo’? It’s mine. Or a’ leas’ it’s mine now,” he said smugly, shifting a little bit and readjusting his position, pointedly making himself comfortable. He was like a king surveying his domain, and he watched with amusement as Oonagh walked over to one of the other desks and began messing with it not dissimilarly to how he had. “Whatcha doin’ there?” He couldn’t help but laugh as she turned back to him, clearly satisfied with whatever she had just done to that poor person’s desk. “Ye lost, eejit?” “Are ya?” he retorted, eyebrows raising.

“Jesus Chris’, issat ‘ow ya open any door? Li’l extra, innit? ‘Ave ya ever ‘eard of knockin’? Or door handles, fer tha’ ma’er?” Oonagh gave a shrug, but her eyes sparked with a cheeky glint as she moved over to the desk to cause her trouble. Her steps and actions were filled with intent. She had quite the joyous time as she messed with this desk belonging to some other person now. "I' this castle ye niver ken which door neit' a wee bit extra motivation," she voiced. And someone else could clearly fix it within seconds if it felt that important to them to fix the door. Breaking stuff, being reckless or getting injured doing stupid dares all felt less serious or tragic when magic was there to fix it on a whim. So what would she care about a broken doorm, she likely wouldn't have cared about a broken door in her normal school either. No she knew she wouldn't have cared about that.

She raised an eyebrow at the fact that the seat was apparently Silas's now. "Sure it is," she voiced, not buying a word of it as she hat to bite back laughter. She did not consider it a possibility for the stuck ups and know-betters to be replaced by Silas out of all people. So she just immediately assumed it must be Silas spinning some kind of lie to jump around and yell 'Gotcha' at one point. Even if for some chance he was the new lead of this little club thing, didn't mean that chair was any less hers.

“Whatcha doin’ there?” A question that made Oonagh's grin spread even further. "Juist makin other peoples lives a wee bit mair miserable, an ye?" she responded casually. That grin still ever-present on her face, especially since she was quite sure she had found someone who would at the very least keep his mouth shut about this. Or she would even go as far as calling him like-minded if their previous interaction had been any example to go by on.

“Are ya?” He had asked and Oonagh dragged the secretary chair with her to sat across Silas's desk with it and equally placed her boots on top of the desk, smugly. "Nae." She responded casually, yet there was still the underlying smugness she simply could not shake off.

Her excuse for essentially blasting down the door was that some doors in the castle needed “extra motivation”. He raised an eyebrow. “Tha’s wha’ you call “a wee bi’”? Do I even wanna know wha’ you consider a lo’?” He snorted. “And do the doors really need tha’ much mo’ivation? Ya’d think a magic castle would a’ leas’ ‘ave doors tha’ open smoothly.” He suspected she would just do the same thing regardless — it didn’t appear to really be about whether the door was easy to open.

For some reason (he couldn’t imagine why), she seemed reluctant to believe that he was telling the truth about this being his spot. “It is! I swear down.” He laughed. It would be funny to see her face once she realised he was indeed the new Editor-in-Chief, although she would probably need to be confronted with evidence in order for that to happen, which he couldn’t be bothered to provide. So she could keep living in blissful ignorance of the truth — for now.

He asked what she was doing and she responded that she was making people’s lives more miserable, causing him to burst out in laughter. “Brill. Me too.” Silas smirked as he gestured broadly at the other desks. “I moved everythin’ over sligh’ly. So basically wha’ ya did, excep’ smaller, bu’ ter everyone,” he said proudly. Given their similarity and how they both clearly enjoyed mildly inconveniencing others for their own amusement, he had a feeling that they might feed off of one another’s energy in the future. “We could take i’ a bi’ further and… I dunno, hide summat? Ya know this place be’er than me — wha’ would bother people?”

She dragged a chair over and joined him in putting boots up on his desk. “Oi. Ge’ yer ‘angin’ boots off of me desk,” he ordered playfully, having absolutely no intention of actually making her do so. He did kick at her feet, but it was with minimal effort as he grinned.

Oonagh glanced at him, raising an eyebrow as she regarded him smugly only to end this display of mimic with a shrug. "A ken that ye would likely love tae ken what a lo' is," she threw back. If the little she knew of him was any indication he might have even preferred to know what a lot meant as opposed to finding out what a 'wee bit' extra motivation seemed to entail.

"This castle ####ing sucks! It's lit a bloody maze, so ah keep getting ###ing lost every bloody two seconds!" A very passionate statement that Oonagh would stand by if she had to fight over it. She hated this school sometimes... most of the times! Of course Quidditch was fun, and she did not like school at home either but at least it was familiar to her and not full of a bunch of crazy people who were waving around sticks and performing party tricks.

“It is! I swear down.” Oonagh kept her gaze narrowed at him suspiciously as he laughed. Well why would she care, it is not as if that changed anything. She would not respect him any much, maybe less, just because he somehow had swindled himself into that position. Then again some might say she was calling the kettle black and that she herself had no business being a prefect or involved with the headliner. Though Oonagh could not think of anyone more deserving of such jobs at the castle, she was clearly perfect in everything she did and more reasonable than most. Now she just had to grab the title of captain so that she could mess things up even more. Though at the very least with her as captain Gryffindor was sure to win forevermore or as long as she was stuck in this stupid school at least.

Silas went on to explain to her just how he had messed things up for others before she had entered the office and snorted. "That's dead decent that is," she approved of his prank on the headliner team as her gaze drifted to her own desk or the desk she most commonly used. She probably would not have noticed anything being amiss since her desk was in an almost constant state of chaos anyway. Though it was not littered with stuff yet at least as she had taken much of her stuff with her when she had gone home for the summer.

Oonagh hummed thoughtfully when prompted with coming up with a way to inconvenience others. One of her favourite past times really! "A dinnae ken but whit if we mess wae the others and replace thair ink so it disappears after they use it," she suggested gleefully as she got cozy with her boots on the other kid's desk, that well, Oonagh would treat as if it was hers just as much.

"Or whit, bam?" She challenged, leaning forward a bit and raising an eyebrow. She was being quite lighthearted though, full aware he had not been serious. However she would not back down from a challenge and wondered if he would. Almost reflexively she had kicked back at him, when he kicked for her boots.

She mirrored his raised eyebrow, causing him to smirk, which only grew as she said that she knew he would like to know what “a lot” would be. “Yeah, ya go’ me, I would.” Would he find it amusing to watch her absolutely destroy a door or something similar? Yes, yes he would. Destruction was simply satisfying and he enjoyed both the cathartic and chaotic elements of it. It seemed she wasn’t different to him in that regard.

Apparently, bringing up the castle prompted… enthusiasm from Oonagh — “enthusiasm” meaning a little rant. “Fer fuckin’ real. ‘S actually insani’y. It doesn’ ge’ any be’er, then?” Silas asked, referring to the frequency of getting lost. He sighed. So much for the hope that he would one day learn his way around. Maybe in a few years, if he was lucky… “Hones’ly, ‘ow’s anyone ever ge’ ter class in time? Good tha’ I don’ care abou’ tha’, bu’ I pi’y the poor bastards tha’ do.”

She still didn’t seem to believe him about the whole this being his desk thing, but whatever, that wasn’t his problem. She would learn soon enough. Not that he thought it would change anything, but it was just something extra to gloat about. He wasn’t even sure what an Editor-in-Chief was supposed to do. Boss people around? He could try that.

For now, though, he explained his little prank that he had carried out just before her arrival, and she evidently approved. “That's dead decent that is.” “Yeah, innit?” He grinned. She had definitely passed most of whatever subconscious tests he might have been giving, especially when she proceeded to make a suggestion for what they could do next. “Tha’s sound; I like tha’. D’ya ‘ave an idea fer ‘ow we do i’?”

He told her to get her boots off of his desk and she leaned forward as she spoke. “Or whit, bam?” Unbothered, he responded, “Or I fire ya.” He made a lazy “gun” with one hand, pretending to shoot her with it, making a sound effect as he did so. He then kicked her again in return.

“Yeah, ya go’ me, I would.” 'Figured,' Oonagh thought but did not respond to this further. It made sense to her after all, as the other did not struck her as boring or stuck up. Rather the opposite of any those words would entail and that suited her just fine in this moment as she too, was not one who enjoyed boredom as opposed to the many students that went here that stuck to the rules or only broke them when absolutely necessary. To Oonagh, rules were more like suggestions or challenges to be more creative.

When Silas asked if it would not get any better with how confusing this school was Oonagh shrugged, honest. "Ah dinnae aboot na getting any better, but awthing changes way tae ####ing much," she explained. She had also at the halfway point given up to remember where the stairs would go as that seemed to change every day. So how was she even supposed to get used to it when the castle itself could not make up its mind?

“Hones’ly, ‘ow’s anyone ever ge’ ter class in time?" He would ask and Oonagh's grin brightened. "Well Ah dinna, 'cause Ah dinna try tae tho', aye?" she was smug still. That was something she was a lot so it would not be out of the ordinary. However it was seldom to be met with that much agreement in such topics as even students who were more inclined to cause trouble still would often choose to pretend they were better than the rest of them. For Oonagh not only did she not like class, she also did not like the subjects in this school or most of them anyway. It is also not for the lack of being up early, no she woke up at decent times where she would have a very good chance to make it to classes in time, she just did not care to do so.

“Tha’s sound; I like tha’. D’ya ‘ave an idea fer ‘ow we do i’?” He asked and she shrugged. "At home Ah would, there wad be prank shops for tha... mebbe Hogsmeade?" she thought aloud and then leaned in, an up to no good expression on her face, "Yer not supposed tae go there tho, ye could get intae 'biiiiiiig' trouble," she said but it sounded more like a promise for fun rather than an actual warning as she leaned back into the chair once more, remaining smug especially as she used air quotation marks in a mockery of the rules. "Ah can show ye aroond, if ye want" she offered right after, impossibly looking even more smug now. Not like she was supposed to be there either aside from doing her so-called "duties" that were merely an excuse when being questions. She could not care less who wished to go and break those stupid rules like curfew and "don't go there". It just made it more exciting to actually go there.

“Or I fire ya.” And Oonagh burst out laughing at the finger gun. And once she calmed down from that a little more, shook her head. "Pffft, Ah would like tae see ye try, bam" She giggled and, of course, returned his kick with one of her own. All in good fun of course.

She answered his question about navigating the school not getting any better by explaining that things changed too much. “Ah, yeah, I forgo’ abou’ tha’.” He rubbed his temples. “As if i’ wasn’ enough of a fuckin’ maze ter begin with. Who’s the fuckin’ stupid wanker tha’ decided things should move as well?” He shook his head disapprovingly. “I’d like ter ‘ave a fuckin’ word with ‘em.”

She seemed rejuvenated when he discussed making it to class on time and she said that she didn’t try that. Silas smirked. “Tha’s okay, I also won’ be tryin’, me.” He really couldn’t care less about most anything related to classes. Maybe magic classes would turn out to be more interesting than regular ones, but he wasn’t a fan of school in general. Homework, paying attention in class, making it to class on time, and sometimes even attending class at all weren’t exactly his priorities. He would much rather do stuff he actually liked.

The pair moved onto talk of pranks, trying to figure out where they could get disappearing ink. Oonagh suggested Hogsmeade — Silas vaguely recognised the town name and thought that that might have been the place where the train had arrived, but he couldn’t remember for certain. What was the wizarding world’s bloody obsession with hogs? Their naming was weird (as everything else of theirs was, in Silas’s opinion).

Oonagh leaned in and told him that he wasn’t supposed to go there — well, now that meant he had to — and that he could get into trouble for it. He grinned. “Oh noooo… wouldn’ wan’ tha’…” He didn’t miss her tone and expression, though, and had immediately caught onto what she was implying before she even made the explicit offer to show him around. “Yeah, I’d like tha’. When can we go?”

When she burst into laughter at the “gun”, he looked at her very seriously, raising his eyebrows like he couldn’t imagine why she would be laughing. Then, he couldn’t help it — the grin reappeared and he started laughing, too. “Pffft, Ah would like tae see ye try, bam.” Still grinning, he playfully responded, “Oh, ya would, would ya? Ya sure ya wan’ ter tes’ me like tha’?” He kicked harder this time — not enough to hurt, just a little friendly joke.

Oonagh nodded excitedly and if she hadn't already put her boots onto the boy's table then she certainly would have done so now. It was nice having someone to somewhat relate to. Most people seemed to be so incredibly excited about all this school had to offer, that they forgot that at the end of the day it was still a school and schools sucked when the alternative could be to just skip class and have fun instead. And what was this house business anyway? What was the point of sorting kids like that? "Aye, it be a wee ridiculous," she agreed, leaning back in her chair dangerously, causing it to tilt and balance on its legs in the back. Though her gaze hovered on Silas suspiciously as she leaned back in such a way, expecting his kicking to increase at any moment and potentially forcing her into a battle against gravity. Many of which she had lost in the past.

“Tha’s okay, I also won’ be tryin’, me.” He replied, which she only regarded with a smirky smile. They would probably get along great. Though they would probably fight a lot as well, which in itself was also quite welcome.

“Oh noooo… wouldn’ wan’ tha’…” Her grin only widened. "Aye, wad be a shame when ye get intae troubles," she added, and just for a the giggles reached into her pocket and pulled out her mainly misused prefect badge. "Ah wad have tae give yer detention an' all that shit," She feigned a distraught voice, though the lightheartedness and smirk on her face ruined the tone she was speaking in and turned it into a horrid act, not that it mattered much, she was being playful after all. “Yeah, I’d like tha’. When can we go?” Oonagh hummed and shrugged. "Ah'd be free onytime, ye?"

"Test ye? Wee me? 'course not, she returned impishly. She grabbed the corner of the desk to hold herself and keep herself from crashing backwards as she moved, quickly kicking both of her boots after him at once at about a similar level of roughness, before setting them back onto his table. However she would not let go of the table just yet, assuming that his next kick might send her flying down with the chair otherwise and that would be rather inconvenient.
