Backstory

Killian is a bright, mischievous, and brave. You would find him always outside the cottage he lives in, overlooking the ocean, seeking adventures and exploring the wide forests that surround his home. His cottage was cozy looking, with ivory bricks raided by leafy green crawling ivy, and belonged to his grandparents. Killian has black hair, green eyes and a few freckles. He was a handsome young boy and was told he resembled his father. Orphaned at the age of two, and knowing nothing about his parents, he lives with his grandparents, Alaric and Lorraine Elliot who never talk about them. Unfortunately, Killian knew better than to ask them about his parents and was secretly concerned they were Death Eaters or something... but that would be ridiculous.

His grandmother Lorraine writes about magical cooking and recipes for the Daily Prophet, and Alaric keeps what he does to himself, Killian guesses it's something boring for the ministry. Alaric and Lorraine are pureblood wizards and Killian was always raised with magic. It was used for just about everything in his household. In fact, he's also quite the quidditch player and practices often with his friends in the neighborhood. If Harry Potter got on the team as a first year, Killian felt he could too.

Killian began experiencing magic at a really young age making his toys fly across the room. He even set his Grandfather's cloak on fire by accident after a tantrum at the age of five, and set all the clocks in the house back a few hours when he didn't want to wake up for early Sunday chores. He's very bright and definitely considered a gifted wizard by his grandparents.

His grandparents have high expectations of him and hope he is put into Slytherin House like everyone else in his family, however, Killian secretly did not mind Gryffindor. He felt it would be interesting to break a family sorting line and he always felt Gryffindor was the superior house.

Killian's eager to to go Hogwarts to learn Astronomy, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Flying already knowing those will be his absolute favorite subjects. He will probably also stir up some trouble at school as well.

The train departed Platform 9 3/4 and Killian sat with some random students and didn't say much to anyone. He was too busy thinking about Hogwarts and and the moment he's been waiting for his whole life had finally arrived! There was a little knot in the put of his stomach, concerned about what house he'd be placed into. There's no way he'd be in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.... but he wasn't sure if he wanted to be in Slytherin either. The dungeons as a common room didn't appeal to him one bit, at least Hufflepuffs are near the kitchens.

The train arrived and Killian followed the rest of the students to the sorting ceremony. He had heard stories about the Sorting Hat, and wasn't afraid like some of the other students. The entire night was a blur with anxiety and excitement. The hat was placed on Killian's head and the moments seemed like an eternity before the hat grunted and shouted, "GRYFFINDOR."

Shocked, Killian's mouth popped open and he sat there for a moment.
He was in disbelief that he is now the very first Gryffindor of his family.
And then another thought popped into his head, "Oh god... my grandparents might be upset."

Killian took the hat off and walked slowly to the Gryffindor table and was greeted warmly by the students.
