I think of what the world could be, a vision of the one I see— The vision though was that of a trunk, one so large that it was hard to even think of it's former glory as the great tree that once stood there. That tree was nothing but a memory, as it was weathered overgrown with green moss and sprouting buds of mushrooms. This indeed would be the children's rest place, they place they would call home for the summer, even if just for a little while.

The entrance seemed to resemble a rabbit hole with ivy hanging about it like a veil, guiding the collection of students of various age into the hollowed stub. Leading them as the rabbit did of Alice, showing her the wonders of wonderland. They traveled past the green curtains revealing the true nature of their soon-to-be home.

Although it held a rugged home-grown charm everything seemed meticulous, every vine and falling leave planned perfectly for each one of the forest dwellers. With the leaves, little dappling lights danced about like that of the fabled faes you would only hear about in the storybooks of muggle tall-tales.

The beds were covered in the softest things the earth could offer, dandelion puffs and moss cushions with varrying greens, browns, and beige. The flowers and other assorted plants reached towards the filtering rays of the sunlight dribbling through the ceiling, and it was nothing but perfectly imperfect, utter serenity and dirty. The peaceful sound of water flowing within the pond that stood in middle of the tent added to the sweet honey-like ambience of the area.

★ ★ ★ ★

Cirrus yawned, something at this point wasn't an uncommon sight for the 12 year old boy, with the addition of everything that had taken place the previous weeks in the month of July. The boy was beyond sleepy, more than usual having to take so many flights back and forth, dealing with his first pimples, his new little sister screeching into the night, having to make sure his friends were entertained, and lastly having to deal with yet another growth spurt that made him trip over his feet.

This much was obvious as he tripped over thin air, fortunately catching himself this time around, previous times he hadn't been so lucky. He fought back another roar of a yawn that pulled his face mask below his nose which he quickly readjusted. Hiding the view from others the fact his face was covered in little pimple patches in the shapes of stars and clouds, he was embarrassed of the blemishes to say the very least.

How was he ever gonna catch the eyes of Gekko if his face was covered in little pink bumps, darn hormones, luckily his mom gave him a few things to try and combat them as well as sitting him down and reassuring that it was okay to have pimples and that it technically gave him the excuse to where stickers on his face.

But the problem with this was he was already often covered in bandages or band-aids, his knees and hands were currently serving as a perfect testimony to this fact alone. Let's just say he tried to ride an electric scooter and it didn't end so well for him or the scooter. Who would have thought clumsiness and motorized devices weren't such a good mix?

Upon finally entering the cozy tent Cirrus wasted no time and going to the farthest bed to the left, he didn't know why he had chosen how he had, but who needs logic at 12 years old? The mousy-haired boy then threw his luggage by his bed as he plopped down, taking the empty room as a chance to get some shut eye, he had started to drift off before realizing he had to check to see if he had forgotten his rememberall.

Being too lazy to actually get up and check the boy dragged himself to the side of the bed leaning halfway off before then finding the position too comfortable and falling asleep then and there, using the luggage like a pillow. Oh well.

At last, Eun-ji was out of the haunted house and could take a deep breath. She was not necessarily thrilled about the crowds and sharing a tent with strangers but there were enough positives to let those things slide. For one, she would get to see her cousin and ask how her dad was doing and second… if she allowed herself to be honest for just one treacherous moment, she could admit she yearned to see Hana as well. It was still mind-boggling to her that she missed his presence whenever he was not around. She used to be so incredibly annoyed by his antics but now life felt oddly empty without him pestering her. It didn’t make sense really. Eun-ji thrived in silence. Alas, the treacherous human hearts were an enigma even to the bright Ravenclaw such as herself.

“Too hot…” The witch mumbled bitterly, scowling at the sun as if it personally offended her. Even her crop top and light skirt felt like entirely too much clothing at the moment. She always struggled with heat and August tended to be especially unforgiving in that regard. “Isn’t it just?” A familiar smug voice rang from behind her just as she was about to enter their magical tent. Smiling, the young ballerina turned to greet her cousin with a brief hug. “Fancy running into you here, cousin.” Truly, she was relieved to see him. Going into the tent full of strangers she didn’t want to talk to, was bad enough…doing it alone was worse. People tended to mistake her impeccable composure for ease but Eun-ji loathed forced conversations, especially those where she had to pretend to care. Ye-jun on the other hand, had no issue with these things. He tended to keep people at arm’s length, but he knew how to navigate social interactions with endless charm and confidence.

It seemed, the boy was about to play along at first but then his eyes landed on her new scar and his smile immediately soured. The witch already expected as much however. There was no way he wouldn’t comment on the injury once he noticed. “God, what happened to your forehead?” She shrugged, seemingly unaffected. “I decided to acquaint it with a mirror in my ballet studio. A very exciting encounter to say the least.” The frown did not disappear from her cousin’s face upon hearing her answer and for a second, he looked to be contemplating something.

The Beauxbatons student could read her quite well and ordinarily, she would be worried he’d see right through her white lie. Yet funnily enough, that familiarity also worked to her advantage. Ye-jun was well aware of her tendencies to overdo the practice and get injured in the process, which made her explanation extremely plausible. “Seriously…you need to slow down sometimes. You are going to kill yourself one of these days.” Good…exactly what she needed from him. “Oh I don’t want to hear that from you, mister. I know how bloody your fights can get. You told me yourself.” She rolled her eyes to mask the flicker of guilt hiding inside them.

There was a brief pause, after which both Koreans chuckled. They were too similar to have the right to scold each other. Both reckless in their own way. Eun-ji wanted to be a ballerina so she practiced to the point of absolute exhaustion while Ye-jun aspired to be a martial artist, fighting relentlessly until someone was bleeding. “Right…let’s go in. Mordred has been trapped in his cage for far too long.” She changed the topic effortlessly, letting her cousin take the lead. He greeted her silver cat and took his box, leaving the witch with just her suitcase. Had it been anyone else, she would have protested but when it came to Ye-jun, she let a lot of things slide and this time was no different.

At last, the duo entered the accommodation, that would house them for the rest of the summer. The Ravenclaw was more than happy with the aesthetic. All the greenery made her feel relaxed. Something, she was desperately craving for many days now. She’d take this any day over the overly fancy mansions she had to visit with the Hunts, including theirs. Another pleasant surprise, came in a form of its occupants. More specifically, the fact that there was just one so far. Even better, he was…sleeping? Works for me. Shrugging, Eun-ji looked at her company. A silent agreement forming between them about not waking the boy and quietly moving to claim the beds on the other side of the room instead.

Ye-jun was actually pretty excited. Given he wouldn't get into another fight, he was planning to thoroughly enjoy this event even if the theme wasn't quite his thing. This was going to be his last summer camp before the adulthood came knocking. He owned it to himself to make a most of it. Besides, Tone would be here to keep him out of trouble. The Beauxbatons student felt a bit ashamed that he let himself rely on the younger boy so much. He used to be so proud of his own independence. He was like a stone wall. Unshakeable. People used to rely on him…not the other way around. And yet, without even realizing, that ray of sunshine somehow became his velvet like safety net. Other than Eun-ji, no one else ever managed to get so close to him. Though many have tried.

Speaking of Eun-ji, it seemed he was in luck. Of course, she'd be the first person he'd meet. Even from afar facing away from him, her thin elegant silhouette was unmistakable. And of course, she was already annoyed with the weather. Although Ye-jun couldn't really blame her, considering he felt exactly the same. This blazing August sun was special kind of evil. “Isn’t it just?” He joined the weather hating club without any remorse. In a blink of an eye, his cousin turned around, her features softening in the way they only ever did for the few people she trusted. Strangers never got to see that look. A shame really, but it was still nice to see her in a good mood for once. He was about to tease her about it before noticing something amiss. Incredibly amiss.

A fresh scar on her forehead now blemished Eun-ji's otherwise flawless skin. It looked like the wound was quite severe and the stitches were removed only recently. Why didn't he know about this? Was it because she didn’t want her father to know and worry 'needlessly'? Even as he asked and received a reply, his brain kept going. Trying to fill the gaps. She sounded awfully casual about the matter but then, Eun-ji had become a master of pretense. Even he, who knew her since she was a child and could read her most subtle cues, could easily be fooled by her. It was honestly embarrassing. Ballet injury makes sense. She had so many I lost count. Ye-jun tried to reassure himself. In any case, if she chose to lie, he wouldn't get the truth out of her no matter what he said. The witch kept her secrets well-hidden and covered in thorns. If he didn't want to bleed, he needed to play along. Even so, he hated not knowing. “Seriously…you need to slow down sometimes. You are going to kill yourself one of these days.”

But of course, his concern would be completely lost on Eun-ji. Not just that but he received a lecture of his own. A well-deserved one he supposed. Ye-jun knew at least couple people in his life, who would agree with her statement wholeheartedly. Yeah...they were related, all right? The amused chuckle escaped him before he could stop it. “You are right. No sense in standing around in this vile heat.” The wizard agreed, opting to accept her deflection without as much as blinking. Sometimes, he was good at pretending as well.

As he walked towards the entrance, Ye-jun made sure to scoop up Mordred’s cage, secretly pleased with the lack of protest from his owner. “Hello Mordred, my beautiful boy!” Eun-ji could handle herself but Ye-jun could see the small cuts marring her palms. Probably a result of trying to instinctively lessen the impact of the fall that resulted in that angry scar. They were clearly pretty much healed now and most likely didn't hurt anymore but he still wanted to help. In whatever capacity she'd allow. A foolish moment of protectiveness clutched at his heart. The kind he knew she would not appreciate.

Entering the tent, the Beauxbatons student tried to get his mind to settle and took it all in. Vines, Moss, flowers and even a beautiful pond. It was like a fairy tale house. He could definitely get used to living in such environment and he knew Eun-ji must have loved it as well. He was about to voice out how impressive it was, when he noticed a sleeping figure on one of the beds. The words died in his throat and he met Eun-ji’s telling gaze. Let’s not… It clearly said and Ye-jun agreed. If it were him, he wouldn’t want to be woken up either. Instead, he quietly joined his cousin on her bed hunt. I wonder if Tone will arrive soon. He briefly considered securing a bed close to his own for the Japanese boy but eventually decided against the idea. It would be incredibly awkward if he had other friends among the tent occupants and wanted to sleep close to them instead. He told himself it didn’t matter...Even if it kind of did.

GEKKO PHILLIPS! ☘︎

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The heat that attacked Gekko was so bad, the girl genuinely considered giving the sun a stank eye. People were already giving the girl weird looks because of how she was walking, slouched over and barely lifting her short legs, a dark shadow over her impassive face that was barely obscured by the hat she wore. She moved real slow, as if she was some kind of ghost that haunted the festival, her suitcases dragging heavily behind her. A dramatic child, really, it wasn't even that hot in actuality but leave it to Gekko Phillips to act like the heat was acid itself.

Cirrus had told her that they were sharing a tent together, and the very thought of that alone eased some of her suffering, giving the girl enough energy to lift her head from facing the very uninteresting ground to look finally look around. It took the girl a bit, but after a while she'd finally spotted the tent. With a heavy sigh, Gekko forced herself to fix her posture with a tired groan and rubbing her back as if she was a 90-year-old woman instead of a 12-year-old kid. It was silly looking and idly reminded the girl of her grandpa on her momma's side, who looked like a wrinkly raisin. The thought made Gekko snort as she pushed her way into the tent, the greenery almost soothing and cooling to her overheated skin. The cool air on her skin almost made the witch melt, and she would have if she didn't spot the other people in the tent first.

It made her pause at the doorway, and Gekko raised a curious eyebrow at the sight of the older kids further in the back. "Wow....teenagers. Gross." Her voice was monotone as per usual, a barely noticeable scrunch of her nose at the sight. She stuck her tongue out at them before taking off her hat to fan her face, the sweat making her bangs limp and sticking to her forehead. She moved further into the tent with her suitcases and eventually left them just in the middle of the walkway. Impassive eyes scanned more of the room until they finally landed on the sight of a...lump? At first, Gekko was confused on who in the world could sleep like that, but then she saw the shoes, and it all clicked. Of course, Cirrus Nam would sleep like some kind of monkey on a vine.

A look of almost fondness seemed to flicker in Gekko's inky gaze as she immediately moved over to the unconscious boy. Without a single thought, the girl grasped the back of Cirrus' jeans and gently pulled his upper body back onto the bed properly. It took all of her strength and the little energy she had, making her huff slightly once she was done. She fixed his messy hair and gave a slight frown at all the stickers and bandaids all over his body. "Clumsy boy....getting hurt even when I'm not around to bandage you up." Gekko sighed quietly as she placed her hat over his face, blocking out the light of the room as to not disturb Cirrus' sleep anymore. Then, almost as if in counter of that very action, the girl flopped her small body across his to create a cross shape and tucking her arms under her head. "A nap is a great idea, actually. I'll tease you when you're awake." She let out a quiet yawn and rubbed her face before burying it into the sheets, the heat exhaustion from before taking all of Gekko's energy and making the girl pass out almost immediately.

It was the start of a new summer. Tone was looking forward to reuniting with old friends and meeting new people there. He wanted to see Red, Win (@Winnie Harper) and spend more time with Hia (@Matthias Pride). He also was looking forward to seeing Sun @Bailey Glade, Freya @Eun-ji Lee Hunt and his fellow Mahoutokoro students. But most of all, he was excited to see @Ye-jun Lee again. Tone had been happy to receive Ye-jun's call to see if he wanted to room with him during summer camp and had eagerly accepted. It made him really feel warm inside.

Someone actually wanted to be with him and wasn't doing it just to be polite. For Tone, this kind of thing was rare and he was going to treasure this feeling for all eternity from now on. Tone was currently dressed in a pair of jeans, a white undershirt and a black lace shirt with a silver necklace that had red and black hearts on it. Perfect for summer time. He would have been one of the first at the tent to welcome the arrivals but the almost sixteen year old had gotten a little sidetracked. Tone had helped out a few students who had been struggling at the entrance.

With their suitcases. They had been too heavy for some of the younger girls. Tone had offered to help carry them to their tent and had been late to his own tent as a result of this.

Over the past year he'd been working on his strength more and he'd actually achieved some decent results. He'd even gotten to work a bit on his evasion too, although there wasn't much improvement there as compared to his strength. But the best part of the year had been August 10th when he'd met Mochi, his beloved Bengal cat. She was a little above a kitten, not quite an adult, not quite a child. But cute as hell!!! Tone had an enchanted backpack slung over one shoulder and an enchanted satchel slung over the other. He didn't have a suitcase with him now.

But the beater was also carrying a cat carrier with Mochi inside. Tone's wand was kept on his person, being carried along within his waistband for easy access. Despite being loaded down by his own belongings, his strength had definitely increased allowing him to help others at the same time. Upon reaching his destination, Tone let his eyes flicker over the place before them. Wow. Unlike previous tents in the past, this one was outstanding to him! He loved the whole nature vibe. The giant green tree trunk structure looked awesome. He couldn't wait to go inside.

Stooping down, Tone entered to see some familiar faces inside. A smile came to his face upon seeing Ye-jun there already who looked as if he was in the midst of searching for a bed to choose. "Jun!" Tone exclaimed as he set his belongings down near the entrance and rushed forward to tackle him from behind with a decent bear hug as if he hadn't seen him in ages. "I missed you!" Tone exclaimed and after a few seconds released him again to smile up at him through strands of soft dark hair. "How have you been?" He asked the other male with anticipation.

For the time, forgetting about everyone else.

He'd cast an illusion spell on his hair to make it seem short and black because in reality Tone didn't look like this at all. Over the past few months, really ever since the events of Pyre, he'd gotten a little lax with his hair. Tone had let it grow longer until it almost seemed feminine. Not because he'd wanted to look that way but because he'd forgotten to cut it. It was a little too long and pure white but he'd wanted to ensure no one thought anything was wrong with him and so had used an illusion to make it seem everything was fine outwardly. Hopefully it would work....

Aodhan Shaw would once again, much to the chagrin of certain people, be attending the summer camp for Hogwarts.

Last year's event established quite the lasting impression on him after all, being his first real introduction to the wizarding world. His memories were filled with races and s'mores, snow ball fights in the middle of summer mixed in with sparklers that didn't burn at the touch. Wonderfully wondrous. That's what last year's felt like for him, and those words formed the basis for his perception of all things magical.

But this... this was a bit confusing. Not at all what he was expecting.

The boy tilted his head curiously while staring at the tent's entrance, if one could even call it that. It was covered from top to bottom in moss and greenery, decorated with mushrooms and ivy. Who was this supposed to house? Humans, or mystical, Disney-esque creatures that stepped out of their films and into the real world?

Still, he was a curious boy. So, so curious, and he let this feeling guide him into the abode, holding tightly onto his bag and ferret carrier as he did.

He didn't bother withholding any sound of surprise as he entered, his mouth forming a tiny 'o' shape while his eyes soaked in all that was before him. Sunlight spots, glowing mushrooms instead of the lame ones outside, a whole pond set up directly in the center. Okay, he could definitely get used to this.

Actually, so much greenery had his mind jumping tracks, from forestry and wildlife to fairies and something else just on the tip of his tongue. Something with a 'Z'...

"Dude, it's like Zelda!" he commented with a bright smile on his face, ignoring the occupants in favor of momentarily daydreaming. "Yeah! This might as well be Korok Forest but for, like, people!" He giggled afterwards, his excitement from earlier returning in full force.

His eyes then traveled elsewhere, finally catching the three strangers deeper into the "tent" that he only gave a lick of attention to—they seemed taller, outside his year, and most importantly, not Kim despite those descriptors. So, they weren't a main concern for now... Save for one that he couldn't get a proper view of. They were familiar in an eerie way, but since Aodhan hated lingering on discomfort, the boy continued on.

That was when he noticed two souls who made the smile on his face somehow double in size.

Immediately, he dropped his belongings—and far more carefully, his sleeping ferret—onto the ground near the entrance. Then he rushed forward, and with an exuberant shout of "Dogpile!" jumped into the air, landing squarely onto the Gekko-Cirrus sandwich. Aodhan could feel the bed slightly bounce with his added weight, and it only caused him to laugh happily.

"You guys thought you could sleep? With me around? Try again," he said before scrambling to enter a sitting position, pretty much using his friends (read: victims) as a makeshift throne. "Nice seat, though. A perfect spot for the man of the hour."

Kim was in a rather random state of mind. He missed seeing his beloved but at the same time knew he shouldn't. A sigh escaped his lips as the nearly sixteen year old reached around to grasp a little of the red Durmstrang cloak billowing out behind him. Kim's fingers ran along the sleek material, almost as if to comfort himself before letting it go again. The white haired teen was currently dressed in a loose, long-sleeved white shirt and a pair of short jeans, very comfortable for summer. Kim wore a pair of simple hoop earrings, a silver charm bracelet and several rings.

It was time to find out what tent he was signed up for, Kim hadn't really paid much attention. He'd only decided to join the same one Eun-ji would be inside. Even though things were a little awkward between them since she had broken off her engagement with Charles, Kim was still friends with her. He'd even promised to keep an eye on her for Charles. To ensure nothing bad happened to her. Because despite what had gone on between the two, Charles still loved and cared for her, even though she'd broken his heart. A sigh escaped his lips at the thought of this.

For some reason, it seemed like everyone was going through love troubles now.

Kim briefly wondered if Colin would be attending, the only one from their original group of friends who consistently came to summer camp all the time. Mainly, Kim never skipped summer camp for one reason. It was essential he stay and remain connected with the other purebloods there. That was what his parents had told him to do. Plus, there was always the opportunity to see his beloved there each year and Kim now looked forward to seeing him as soon as the end of the school year approached. He knew Valentin would be participating in his quidditch match....

So naturally, Kim needed to go see it to support him. This was a new feeling for him. He didn't usually tend to go to quidditch matches due to his fear of heights. But for his beloved, Kim didn't want to miss out on a chance to see him in action doing what he loved to do. Taking the time to head towards the area where all the tents for summer camp were supposed to be set up, Kim dragged a suitcase behind him, his enchanted backpack and satchel slung over each shoulder. Of course, Kibō was curled around his neck and shoulder, riding high and taking note of everyone.

He was his lookout. Kibō hissed as Kim drew near his tent and the nearly sixteen year old couldn't help but smile upon seeing what the place he'd be living in for the next month would look like. It was almost as if this place had been made to his specific tastes! Kim absolutely loved nature and this looked like a work of art done in nature. Verdant Hollow really lived up to its name and hadn't just been a name. It didn't seem like an illusion either but was actually real. A smile came to his lips as he entered and immediately was soothed by what he could find inside.

That is, until his nose started to twitch and Kim abruptly realized there were cats inside. Right. Eun-ji's Mordred. But wasn't the cat with her? It was only after he sneezed once and a little mew was heard next to him that he realized there was another feline. One inside a little cat carrier. One that was directly by the entrance. Kim's eyes widened and he immediately darted forward, trying to put some distance between himself and the unexpected kitten near him. At least it was inside a carrier. Kim sneezed again and looked around for where the beds were located inside....

He needed to unload first and then check out the danger. Making his way to the closest bed, Kim let his backpack and satchel slide down onto a white, round and fluffy giant dandelion puff bed. He pulled his suitcase forward and stored it in the small space beneath the bed. Now that Kim had put away all his things, the duelist reached into his pocket and downed the contents of an allergy potion. It shouldn't take too long before it went into effect and then his sinuses should be fine again. But it didn't help his fear. He glanced around to recognize a few familiar faces there.

That guy from the Mistletoe Spin was here (Tone) hugging Eun-ji's cousin, along with another one who looked just like him (Aodhan). Were they twins? A girl he didn't know (Gekko) and a boy he didn't know (Cirrus) were on the same bed as Aodhan who had flopped on top of them. Eun-ji was also there. Kim counted and realized they were only missing one resident now. He wondered who it would be. The nearly sixteen year old headed over to where Eun-ji was to greet her, making sure to note where Mordred was. "Yo." He said, giving her his trademark greeting.

"I see you've made it here." Kim said in Korean. He noticed the scar on Eun-ji's forehead and his eyes widened a little at this. The duelist reached forward slowly to let his finger brush over the area briefly as he let his eyes flicker over it. "What a shame that such an injury marred your beautiful skin. Will you use magic to get rid of the scar?" Kim asked her, interestingly not asking how she came about such a wound as most would have done. But that was because Kim suspected it had something to do with her family, or something relating to the things she didn't like talking about. But one thing was for certain, it was nice seeing her here.

If finding an empty tent didn't work, Hanako would just try to be the most annoying one in the tent. He had learned that a valueble lesson last year. Less people doesn't guarantee bliss. And bliss was frankly all he wanted this summer. Maybe because its been a while since he tasted true freedom. Hanako thought that after his arrangement with Jack regarding his little (in his personal opinion, unnecessary) stalker tendency - he would get extra room to breathe. He should've known that Jack believed more in results than empty promises. At least it was less intense now. Hanako took what he could get. And what he could get was no Jack in his tent once again this year. Or so that's what he hoped. He wouldnt be surprised to see a fox loitering around his own tent. But that was an issue he could deal with later.

He heard some rowdyness from outside the tent and smirked, adjusting his sunglasses. Too dark to properly see. That's what he got for getting it from a sketchy stall. But who needed to see anything when his goal was to be annoying? " Ready to see some cuties, Cu Sith?" He asked the 6ft long snake that was slowly catching up to him from behind, whom bobbed her head up and down enthusiastically. Perfect.

Hanako didn't even need to take a first full step in the tent. Cu Sith had already found her newest victim

And luckily for her, whether she was just too quick or the person had willing allowed it, but she would hiss and try to coil herself around the person's [Ye-Jun] right leg. Meanwhile Hanako was pretending he didnt see anything. And it was easy considering his glasses literally made it impossible to see.

" Alright people~ Theres no need to clap or cheer~ Hold your enthusiasm for a second! I'll get to everyone in just a minute after I settle down and you may all get the autographs from yours truly Hanako To- Eun-ji?" His little obnoxious act was abruptly paused as the corner of his eyes noticed the girl first. Not that it was much of a surprise. The last few years all he had been doing was catching glimpses of her from afar from Jack noticed. He adjusted his glasses down his nose slightly to recognise the other people in the tent. " Kim?" Hanako noted his fellow parselmouth. He took off his glasses finally to see the rest of the tent. Unable to hide the annoyance on his face at Tone, but not giving him the satisfaction of acknowleging his existence. Especially when there were other pressing issues at hand.

" .... cats?" He groaned, his eyes setting on the random ferret in the room. " An unnecessarily long rat too?" then his gaze towards the one bed. " Children?!" he grimaced and turned to the other seniors in the room. Primarily Eun-ji, as she was the nicest view to look at right now. " I didn't know I signed up to be part of some babysitters club". he sighed. He noted the injuries Eun-ji had and for a brief moment his expression faltered. It seemed she was in the middle of a discussion with Kim, which settled an uneasy ache in his chest which he promptly mistook for mere annoyance.

Just how secret is their discussion that they had to talk in Korean? Almost every word was unfamiliar to him that he just rolled his eyes and headed to where the bed where he'd be surprised one kid wasn't suffocating under the weight. Setting his trunk aside on a random bed on the way before clapping his hands to get the kids attention. " Alright thats enough killing each other. If you wanted to do that, at least bring it outside the tent where the rest of us don't need to get blamed for it"

For a few moments, the tent remained almost tranquil in the absence of any talking. The girl that entered after them clearly lacked manners but being few years older and dare he say wiser, Ye-jun opted not to entertain her snarky remark. He would have even helped her with her suitcase but given the whole angsty kid vibe she had going on, it was probably safe to assume such gesture wouldn’t be appreciated. Better to stay out of her way to preserve the fragile peace of the place. At least she was mostly quiet…which unfortunately, couldn’t be said about the next newcomer.

In a span of mere seconds, the bed on the other side of the tent somehow turned into a kids’ playground. The Beauxbatons student winced. If he was unimpressed, he could only imagine how his cousin felt. Eun-ji pretty much hated kids. Always avoided them like a plague if she could help it. “So much for letting him sleep…” He muttered towards her, not really expecting a reply. Her expression in itself spoke volumes...not that anyone besides him would be able to tell.

Still reeling from all the noise, Ye-jun failed to notice the far more welcome arrival slipping into the tent soon after. It was only when he felt the sudden weight on his back that he realized someone was there. For a second, his whole body froze. The natural instinct to throw the ‘attacker’ over his shoulder overwhelming in its intensity. It was really only because Ye-jun had been waiting for Tone and heard his voice as his arms circled around his body that he managed to reel those violent instincts back in. Exhaling shakily, his taunt muscles relaxed and he briefly allowed himself to lean into the embrace.

Once his friend let go however, Ye-jun turned around and fixed him with a glare. Or something akin to one at least. When will he ever listen? Shaking his head in mock disapproval, he proceeded to ruffle Tone’s hair, not caring in the slightest that the boy had just fixed it. It was the gentlest form of punishment Ye-jun could come up with since he found it impossible to be sincerely angry with the boy. “Really? I swear…Keep doing this and one day you will find yourself flat on your back, wonderboy.” He teased, though there was an undeniable truth behind his words. He knew his friend was no weakling but Ye-jun was still stronger and he had practice. He could tackle opponents twice his size if he put his mind into it. He wouldn’t do that to Tone intentionally but the point was, he could. And that scared him more than he was willing to admit. “Just…be careful, okay?” he added, his tone growing noticeably softer. “I’d hate to hurt you. Even by accident.” Too honest perhaps but he felt those words needed to be said.

He was so focused on his friend that he wasn’t paying attention to his cousin or her company until he heard her talking about keeping the scar. He didn’t always understand Eun-ji’s reasoning but this was one of those comments Ye-jun didn’t want to leave unchecked. “Yah, Lee Eun-ji! Do I have to talk to my uncle about this?” After all, her father was the only voice of reason she’d rarely dismiss. Unfortunately, for him, he did not have an upper hand here either. As always, Eun-ji had a counter argument ready and waiting. One, he was unable to refute. For the second time today, he lost. Sighing, Ye-jun clenched his jaw and turned his focus back to Tone. That conversation was far more pleasant, his presence comforting even when he was doing nothing.

“I’ve been…” Before he could even finish forming any kind of reply, Ye-jun felt something heavy slithering up his leg. Luckily, he was not someone to be easily frightened so he simply glanced down to calmly inspect the source of said sensation. A snake? He chuckled. “Well hello, beautiful.” With extreme cautiousness, the wizard reached his hand to gently stroke the side of the python’s head. He made sure to carefully observe its reactions and withdraw his touch in case it didn’t like being petted. To him, this was actually a pleasant surprise. Ye-jun adored all animals and snakes were no exception. He helped at his father’s veterinary clinic whenever he had time to spare and he was proud to say most animals tended to return his affections. Apparently, he was lucky enough to catch this one’s interest as well.

Realizing, he did not see it before the Beauxbatons student looked around, hoping to find its owner. He fully intended to compliment their pet and ask for its name before the obnoxious voice rang through the air, instantly ruining his mood. Oh no. Not this guy… Ye-jun's face morphed into a grimace even as he continued stroking the beautiful creature. At least, he managed to prevent any scornful comments from escaping his lips. Mainly because he felt Eun-ji’s warning glare. Like a cold dagger against his neck. Don’t you dare! It clearly said. Honestly, even though they had the conversation, Ye-jun still couldn’t fathom why she would fall for someone like that. Always the center of attention. Always flirting. She deserved so much better. Needed so much better.

Doing his best to compose himself, he turned back to face Tone instead. Once again, he was his anchor amidst the ongoing storm. “Do you know him by any chance?” He asked, pointing at the pesky Hogwarts student. Inquisitive but wary. Ye-jun knew they were from different schools but the Mahoutokoro teenager had a way of knowing people. And if he did know this guy, he was curious to hear his opinion. Not that he was ready to change his mind but it might help ease his mind a little.

The new girl’s snide judgement didn’t go unnoticed by Eun-ji but she couldn’t care less. The Ravenclaw heard so much worse uttered right to her face that this little quip seemed almost laughable. The real problem was, it didn’t end with her. Once the third kid arrived, the peaceful magical tent turned into chaos. Right, I forgot these might be here as well. The witch’s face was carefully blank but inside, she was already deeply regretting her life choices. Strangely enough, she did come to like her little ballerina pupils but they were a rare exception. They shared her passion and they were disciplined. This? How was she supposed to tolerate this until the end of summer? Few minutes in and they were already grating on her nerves.

At last, the distraction came in a form of the first familiar face. She knew Tone would be here since Ye-jun pretty much invited him. To be fair, he could also get intense but at least he understood her boundaries. And more importantly, he wasn’t here for her. Not really. He was here for her cousin, which suited her just fine. A small knowing smirk briefly appeared on Eun-ji’s face as he ran to jump at Ye-jun’s back, all smiles and sunshine. She did tense at the fact that Ye-jun did not see him coming but thankfully, the ambush ended without any incidents. Mordred, still trapped in his cage, meowed ruefully but she knew it had nothing to do with the boy, currently wrapped around her cousin. Rather, it was the kitten he brought with him. “You wait there. We’ll see about that one later.” She coaxed the Egyptian Mau gently. She didn’t want to spoil the moment and besides, Kim was coming. Considering, his allergies, the Ravenclaw didn’t plan on releasing her cat until she made sure it was safe to do so.

The very Gryffindor in question, of course, showed up sneezing like a Sternius spell victim. To her quiet relief, he was smart enough to drink his potion immediately so she could let go of some of her worries but Eun-ji’s heart still throbbed painfully, when he made his way towards her. She was glad to see him but simultaneously dreaded the underlying awkwardness, accompanying their every interaction ever since she broke Charles’ heart last summer. It was to be expected. Kim had never said a word against her for it but it was not something he could simply forgive either. She still felt guilty about it and he must have felt saddened to see Charles hurt due to her rejection. It was a wonder he didn’t give up on her entirely. Eun-ji supposed it was the testament of how much they cared for one another but even that couldn’t fix everything. Perhaps in time, all three of them could stop tiptoeing around each other but until then, she’d take what she could get. No matter how awkward.

“Hey,” the Ravenclaw responded to the greeting, flinching ever so slightly as Kim’s fingers brushed the raw skin beneath her scar. Both out of instinct and because it still genuinely hurt whenever it came in contact with something. Her friend was not to blame however. He didn't know she opted not to use any magical healing for the injury, which would have been the smart thing to do. And she was supposed to be smart. Not to mention her mother was a healer. But no, she just had to be stubborn about it and go to a muggle hospital, dragging out the pain and notably prolonging the healing process. Eun-ji only had herself to blame so she stayed silent and let him do as he pleased. Few would be allowed that kind of grace from her.

As always, her friend ever so perceptive, didn’t ask any probing questions but he didn’t stay silent either. The witch tilted her head, mulling over his words. She never really thought of it that way. She may have taken care of her appearance and worn designer clothes but that was mostly to keep her grandparents off her back. Naturally, she wanted to look pretty but she wouldn't go to such extremes if it wasn't for them. “Oh...it does, doesn't it?” She said, failing to realize she was smiling. An entirely inappropriate reaction. But it was. It was funny, poetic even that her grandfather, who always expected perfection, ended up being the one to ruin it…however briefly. She was actually planning to getting rid of the scar once it healed a bit more but this conversation made her reconsider. “You know...I might actually hold onto it. At least for a little bit longer.”

The witch could feel his burning stare before Ye-jun even opened his mouth. “Yah, Lee Eun-ji! Do I have to talk to my uncle about this?” Eun-ji simply rolled her eyes at him. “Oppa...do I have to talk to MY uncle about your choice of future career? You haven't told him yet, did you?” The clench in his jaw gave her all the answers she needed. And if that wasn't enough of an indication, his sharp look definitely was. It was both blessing and a curse. The Lee cousins kept each other’s secrets well, even those they’d rather wouldn’t. An impenetrable security that was eating them up inside.

Before they could bicker any further or she had the chance to ask Kim how he was doing, the tent’s last occupant arrived and all of Eun-ji’s thoughts flew out the window. Her attention instantly zeroing on his animated figure. The Slytherin’s theatrics didn’t faze her anymore. Eun-ji was far too familiar with them by now. What did surprise her however, was the fact that her name cut them short. The way it caught in his mouth, like holding a breath…like she mattered. It was puzzling. She wasn’t the only person Hana knew here so why that reaction? Lee Eun-ji, stop deluding yourself. You should know better! But even as her brain chided her, she couldn’t help clinging to the hope that she wasn’t just another face in the crowd. That somehow she was more important than any of them could ever hope to be. It was foolish. Beyond foolish…but knowing didn’t make those feelings go away.

Unfortunately, her embarrassing thoughts were not the only thing that bothered her. It was him. Sharing a living space with a boy she liked felt like a disaster waiting to happen. Eun-ji was smart about most things but when it came to love, she was utterly clueless. No matter how happy she was to see Hana here, every look, every word, felt like a potential mistake. She felt like a ticking bomb and yet her treacherous body instinctively wanted to go to him. Only, she didn’t know how. Even such a simple thing suddenly seemed so…impossible. It was the children’s continued fussing and Hana’s annoyed statement that finally brought her back from spiralling any further. “Right…I wish I knew sooner too.” She agreed wholeheartedly while rubbing her temple.

This noise did nothing to improve her headache. The scar didn’t hurt unless touched but the headaches became a regular visitors after the impact. The doctors said they would go away soon if she rested well but Eun-ji had a sneaking suspicion she wouldn’t get any of that here. Her fingers twitched, eager to reach into her bag for some painkillers but she did not. She’d rather do it later, when people were not watching.

Never thought I’d see the day, Hanako Tone was annoyed by noisy people. Eun-ji couldn’t help the small smile tugging at her lips as she watched her favourite rouge ‘scold’ the unruly children. I guess he is not fond of them either. To most people, that would have probably not sounded like a good quality but to her, it certainly did. Right now, he looked utterly charming to her. Her gaze kept unconsciously drifting to him and she cursed herself for it. God, she was so screwed. What if other people noticed? Worse. What if he noticed? She already had to throw a dirty look at her cousin, who was for sure about to say something stupid. Lucky for him, he was smart enough to take the hint but what if it didn't end with him? Quickly, Eun-ji cleared her throat, eyes flickering to Kim once more. “How is your allergy? Will you be okay with two cats around?” She asked, flawlessly slipping back to English. She loved speaking Korean and usually didn’t care that others wouldn’t understand her but oddly enough, she could not do that around Hana. She hated it, hated that he made her adjust. That he made her care. And most of all, she hated that he didn’t…
