Your RPG storyline idea : I need someone who can help Akerrah navigate what it is to be a seer. She has no idea she even is one—she's only had flits of visions literally seconds long and does not know what this means. I would love someone to recognize this behavior, if possible, and someone she can confide in. This will likely be a more long-term plot.

hi! welcome! if you're reading this i assume you have at least some interest in starting some new threads and/or plots for the new school year. i'm very new to the site so i'm looking for a place to get started mostly.

a little bit about me is that i've been writing rp for around 8 years now on and off but i'm willing to write with anyone of any experience level! i'll be busier when september comes as i'm moving abroad for college so i'm hoping to get a little head start on threads now. (it wouldn't make sense for maelys to be at summer camp since she's a first year and was raised mainly in a non-magical environment </3) i love interesting characters so PLEASE yap to me about oc stuff. i don't have discord right now (deleted it after 2020 era) but i might get it again in the future.. stay tuned for that <3

as for maelys... when i was making her i had the expectation that she would probably be either a hufflepuff or a ravenclaw. however, after completing the sorting quiz, slytherin makes much more sense. she doesn't fit the stereotypical cold, aloof, traditional mean girl reputation the house carries. mae is more of a gretchen wieners to someone else's regina george (mini spoiler for my plot ideas HAHA..) she's a natural introvert who tries to be sociable to please others around her. mae is a social chameleon... she's quick-witted and smart enough to find her place but her competitive spirit, sensitive emotions, anxious tendencies, and very high standards for herself always leave her wanting more. maelys is a thoughtful, observant, empathetic type of young witch— a people person in the sense that they matter to her (rather than wanting to be surrounded by people.) gossip is like mental stimulation to her... she loves it. everything is kind of a puzzle to her whether it be helping others or figuring out how to stay "in control" of herself. maelys might be smart but she lacks the self-awareness to take note of her own behavior.

bigger-picture ideas over multiple threads
— operation don't look like an idiot in front of the magical people (or d.l.l.a.i.i.f.o.t.m.p if you're feeling cute).. maelys' main goal at the minute is to understand hogwarts and find out how to be successful there (socially, academically, magically. mae doesn't like things she doesn't understand because that leaves the door open for failure.)

because of this, maelys is looking for people who seem like they know what they're doing in one aspect or another to approach/idolize/emulate. this could turn into a role model relationship, someone mae annoys, or potentially a crush. (any romance will not develop further than that since she's too young.)

UNLIMITED OPEN
— maelys is, despite everything, still a middle school girl. what are middle schoolers effortlessly good at? cliques. mae has been raised on a (healthy?) combination of muggle movies that glorify these "popular girl" friend groups that hang out all the time and exclude everyone else. there were some of these girls in her class at japan and, although they didn't bully maelys directly, they weren't her friends.

this made maelys upset so, now that she's at a new school, mae plans to set out to "make her own" complete with a cringe group name and everything. the thing is, maelys isn't much of a leader nor does she have it in her to be rude to people without feeling bad. her idea of being a "popular girl" consists mainly of wearing cute clothes (lots of neon pink), gossiping, and sharing their snacks.

(3/3 SPOTS OPEN) preference for first-year girls (or boys who don't mind "traditionally girly" activities.)
— a roommate of the evil variety. maelys might not be a stickler for the rules. she has a sense of humor. she ENJOYS absurd and sarcastic comments. silly pranks though? maelys has little tolerance for pointless, annoying mischief, especially if it messes with her belongings/schedule/peace. unfortunately, that's exactly the type mae's roommate likes. maybe they LIKE ragebaiting her. ugh. (okay... sometimes it's funny...)

(OPEN/CLOSED) one slytherin girl only. maybe two if they're in cahoots.

defined thread ideas that are more of a one-time deal
— hogwarts express. i've seen SO MUCH of this one while browsing but, since mae is actively trying to figure out the wizarding world, she would try to find someone to talk to for sure on the train. any year, any house, any gender! (OPEN/TAKEN)
— much to her annoyance, maelys does not understand this particular assignment. some of this implied magical knowledge she simply does not possess. she has to suck up her pride and ask someone else for help. (OPEN/TAKEN)
— maelys heard some of the older kids talking about sneaking out at night. she decides to copy them, only to find an equally guilty companion in the hallway. mae thinks it's a prefect and panics. (OPEN/TAKEN)
— maelys is not fluent in english. she grew up in japan and, although she attended international school, she still makes mistakes sometimes especially with confusing magic jargon. she's relieved to hear either a pair of students conversing in japanese or a student muttering to themself and approaches them from there.
