He didn't dare to look at Briar. “No… I'm sorry… I…” His face became reddened and reddened. He wanted to fly, fly really high that no one could see him. What's wrong with him, he wondered. Well, he didn't but he did feel the butterflies deep within the pit of his stomach when Javier kissed him. He tried his best to stifle a smile but the usually stoic boy began to light up in a way that he often never showed. But, there was a deep pang of guilt that rattled his bones deeply. He never really thought about this whole thing, it was so foreign to him when all Briar did was focus on his studies and sharpen his skills for when the time would come to execute. Javier was such an idiot, head in the clouds and a penchant for danger and chaos. He felt familiar because Alphonse also had some of those qualities, but all that meant was that Briar knew how to deal with those types. He also knew like Alphonse, Javier was someone who was well-liked and probably had a ton of other people who he could take for a broom ride. Why him? Why now? That's when Briar's mind sparked an idea and his gaze narrowed and his brows furrowed immediately. This was some kind of game, it had to have been. " What the hell was that for, Javier? " His sweet and euphoric disposition quickly turned sour as he shoved the boy, two hands against the older boy's shoulder as he shook his head in deep embarrassment. " You almost had me there. Ha!
