The relaxed, if you can call it that, pose dissipated into the stolid rigidity of a boy acutely aware that he was listening to things private. Looking for something to say, he latched on to the last question, about where he was from, and decide to answer that one. Maybe move on from this awkward topic.
"The fens, in scotland" He said, his eyes darting between the two girls. That one looked way too embarrassed, and the other didn't exactly seem comfortable either. Normally, he'd ask more questions. Like why a frog, specifically.
But what if that was a sensitive topic? He'd rather not mess up so soon. If he knew anything about anything, it was that you have to be smooth, never abrupt. He couldn't always manage to be smooth in conversation, he was much too bad at it. So he started back on his broken, hint of a hum. He liked the melody, even though no one else could really hear it. It just sounded like the faintest whisper of a broken tune to them. To him, it sounded like home. The quiet fog, and mist that shrouded everything. It made walking across the little bridge seem like stepping into the unknown, no matter how many times he did it. He wondered if these two girls had ever seen the fens, but didn't want to say anything. It would mean stopping his hum, and he didn't want that.

Eri smiled. "The Fens. I have been there before with my aunt. Its so interesting there." She smiled glad he took it off topic. His broken tune sounded weird to her but if it calmed him down that was fine. She started reading again to hide her blush seemed to dissapear as she began to read again.
"Where are you from Eris?" Eri wanted class to start soon. This was the most embarrassment she had ever had.
She pulled out a small book on transfiguration. She read on transfiguration. She decided to read on animaguses even thiugh she has read that page a thousand times. She pointed to a pcture of a women turning into an owl and muttered."I wish I could you make you proud aunt sylv." She grasped her locket again. She smiled at her aunt was an animagus who could turn into an owl. She didn't know if the other two heard her but she didn'tcare anymore since she already said something personal. She would want to br animagus if she ever had the time to make the potion.
She put the small book back in her bag and smiled. Hopefully she didn't sound like a freak to them.

Eris listened to the conversation, refusing to admit she had no bloody idea where the Fens were. "I'm from London." Eris said softly, smiling she remembered home. Her home life might of been terrible, but London was a beautiful city. "It's amazing there. There's this one park called Princess Diana Park that's themed after Peter Pan! It's so fun. I used to spend my childhood there." Eris had a glazy look in her eyes, as she thought about the beautiful park she used to play there with her muggle friends. Life was much easier after a day at the park. Her mother and father were much easier to deal with after playing with her friends and sister. Eris was so lost in her thoughts that when she finally snapped out of them, Eri was looking at her locket and whispering something about a woman named Aunt something. Eris decided not to ask Eri who the woman was. It seemed too personal, though Eris was definitely interested in who the woman was, and why Eri was whispering something about her to a locket.
Sighing, she opened up her own book. Did Keagen and Eri know what Peter Pan was? Eris studied the other children, hoping to see some sign of recognition on their faces.

Mikale jumped as Anna jumped awake. "It's okay. I'm not sure any of us slept very well. I mean, we aren't used to this place." He glanced around to indicate the castle. He'd always been told it was hard to sleep in a new place, and it was very true for him, especially because he had never slept anywhere but his bed nor with anyone but his sister, who would constantly crawl into his bed when she was scared. He usually didn't notice until he woke up, but it still used to drive him crazy. "I'm Mikale. Kale for short." He grinned at the girl as he shook her hand.
Kale looked over towards the other students, wondering if they knew the whole class could hear them. He had been ignoring their personal conversation, but then thought better of it since he wanted to make as many friends as possible. The more friends he had, the more influence on the world he culd have. Suddenly, he blurted, "Where are the fens?" He was gazing directly at Kaegen. He had heard Scotland, but he didn't know the place. Hearing Eris mention London, he turned towards her. "I live in London, too, but I've never really been away from home before here. What's Peter Pan?" He added, curiously. He felt very out of place with everything he didn't know. School subjects were easy for him after having been tutored his whole life. But practical things? He didn't really understand them. He glanced at Eri, not wanting to leave anyone out. "That's a pretty locket." He smiled. Feeling a little bad as he realized he had kind of forgotten Anna, he turned and motioned to the girl. "This is Anna, and I'm Kale." He added, wondering if they would realize his introduction was kind of an after thought.

Eris couldn't help but smile. Excellent! Another friend. Who... who had never heard of Peter Pan. At least he was another Londoner, but before she could answer the boy was already talking to Eri. Eris opened her mouth to speak then closed it, as the boy introduced himself and another girl. Eris was going to say "Nice to meet you Kale," but she broke off with a giggle. "I'm sorry, did- did you say your name is Kale!" She giggled again. "Like the vegetable?" Realizing that might of been misinterpreted as rude, Eris coughed. "Sorry." she muttered. Her leg was shaking so much, she felt it hit the side of the desk. Way to go Eris. She just really had no filter. "Anyways," She muttered then coughed, voice becoming louder. Peter Pan is a muggle story about a boy who never grows up. He lives in Neverland and battles pirates. He has a pet fairy and it's really cool. It's by disney," She looked at the other children expecting to see some look on their face to show they had some knowledge of Disney. When there wasn't any, Eris flung her hands up. "What children's stories do wizards have? "

Kaegen's eyes dart to the boy that just spoke "If you are in the highlands, walk until you see a large rock, any large rock will work. Then listen for the sound of the fens, and follow it until you reach my house." Kaegen smiles a bit, and then listens to the girl's reply. He liked the faeries, but he had never heard of disney. Well, maybe she heard some of his stories? "Have you ever heard the story of the dead fish?" That story was really good. Kaegen had heard it many times growing up, his father saying that it taught a good lesson. Better than a pet fairy, anyway.
"Does kale taste good?" He asks the girl. He couldn't think of ever having eaten any, it probably didn't grow in his mother's garden. His mind wandered back to the boy, and then to himself. His body should be doing something, not hiding. It didn't seem right to just sit here trying to not be noticed. Hiding behind a desk even! Kaegen climbs onto his desk, letting his feet dangle off of the front. 'well, now at least I'm not hiding. It may be slow progress, but I don't mind.'
His legs start to sway gently, a back and forth motion. Maybe running away wasn't such a good idea after all.

"The only thing I know about dead fish is that you can eat them." Eris replied, watching Keagen idly swing his legs on the desk. Deeming it to be more fun than shaking her leg, Eris also hopped up ontop of her desk. Though instead of slowly moving her legs like Keagan, Eris's feet were moving quickly, as if caught in their own personal hurricane. Wrinkling her nose, the fiery red-head responded. "Kale tastes disgusting. It's like-" she gave a mock-shudder. "I can't explain it. You'll have to try it for yourself. Maybe they'll have it at the feast tonight." She shrugged, feet still kicking. Every so often her foot would kick the desk, and she could kick even faster. The cycle went on and on, until Eris hopped off the desk. "When does this class end anyways?" She asked, searching the room for a clock of some sorts. But of course, this was Hogwarts and no electronics of any sort were allowed, nor did they work. Glaring at the walls of the room, Eris turned back to her new friends. "Tell me the story of the dead fish, that you do not cook and eat." Eris chirped to Keagen.

"Alright" Kaegen's voice took on a more rhythmic tone, it was more audible, too. "A long time ago a fish traveled out of the ocean. He found a craggy landscape, there was nothing but rock, and pools of stagnant water with no life. The fish lay down in one of the pools and ended his own life. He ended it because the fish was wise, and knew that with death there is life. The fish fertilized some seeds, the seeds multiplied and made the rock fertile. Animals came, and more plants grew and after a long, long time the fens came to be. Things live, and die. An endless cycle that is magical to behold. A entire world, all because of the sacrifice of a single dead fish."
Kaegen's whole body was swaying happily now, with perfect balance on the very edge of his desk. A smile stretched across his mouth and his silent, broken tune could barely be heard as he resumed his humming. This was going to be alright. A whole new adventure with new people. This could be fun, and best of all, really, really interesting.
It would be even better if the floor would stop being so hard.

"Thank you Kale. It's from my aunt Sylvia. Eris I think Kale is short for his real name. Is that correct? I have heard of Peter Pan. I am also from London. In my opinion the vegetable Kale is not that BAD." She smiled. "My Aunt had a friend who was a muggle. That's how I know a lot of what you are talking about Eris. And I think Tinker bell was more of a friend then a pet fairy, but that is just my opinion." She smiled genuinely at everyone. She blushes for saying so much. She started reading her book again hoping they would forgive her for speaking to much. She blushed and began to read her book so they couldn't see she was still. She hides her face behind her potions book so she can hide her embarrassment once again.
She laid down the potions book and decided that she should get to know the others and not try to act to shy or to much like her real self. She smiled hoping someone else would talk to break the silence. She finally let go of her locket so she wouldn't look weird. She waited for the others to speak.

Cameron entered the Potions classroom as he yawned. He was exhausted from a long day of classes back to back. He was glad this was his last class before dinner. He sat down at his desk and looked at his cauldron that was already cleaned out and bubbling with contents of water, ready to go. After listening to the Professor review over last lesson, he sadly didn't want to remember his grade. The Professor was rather strict on detail and encouraged the class to continue on with their homework by adding more details. "Details, details...," said Cameron as he groaned along with the other students at what the Professor instructed the students to do. A potion, making another, would Potions ever be a History of Magic lesson or would that be for homework? His thoughts got to the best of him as he kindly opened his book to the proper page to the Cure for Boils potion and got to work. He focused on the ingredients one by one to make sure he didn't miss anything else. Looking around the room as his classmates were double checking the book and looking at their cauldrons before them one student set fire to his cauldron. Cameron jumped at the sudden error as the whole class was brought to attention and the Professor had to put out the fire and instruct the student on proper safety measures. Never seeing that before in Potions and a rather unhappy Professor that poor student lost housepoints.
