✧ It hadn't even been a week for the newly sorted Ravenclaw, yet her hands were itching to dive into some trouble. Impulsiveness was something she was gradually becoming a master of, with the likes of having two older brothers. Her curiosity however was an entirely different matter. She was after all still a child and certain things couldn't be mastered at such an age, instead they came with experience and maturity.
Rain wasn't sure what time it was, but a dull light was starting to seep through the closed curtains ever so slightly. She had been awake for the past hour or so, tossing and turning, but her mind was wide awake. A morning owl must have been built in her, as she was often awake before others, but that itch of curiosity was there and it wasn't being scratched.
Having had enough of her restlessness, she decided to sit up and swing her legs over the edge of the bed. Beside her slept Avis Greymond, a second year she had only made a brief interaction with for the sake of formality. And next to her was her comet 180, resting beautifully, tempting-- begging even, to be taken.
It had been an idea that she took in the moment, not caring for the consequences. How bad could they be anyway? She was 11 years old. A little ol' slap on the wrist wasn't going to scare her off that easily.
The ravenclaw shoved on a hoodie that Otto gave to her, a good luck charm. He too was a professional Quidditch player so it only seemed fitting for the occasion. It swallowed her small frame, sagging around her arms and ending at her thighs. Her pajama bottoms were still on underneath which made her look ridiculous, but it was barely light out, nobody would see her or catch her for that matter. Who cared? She would be back within the hour anyway.
With the broom in hand, she had made her way out the dorm rooms, down through the common room and through the castle with caution. It was silent. Only the sound of nature was heard in the distance and the odd noise within the castle, likely the house-elves and a few professors preparing for the day ahead.
It was breezy out on the grounds, the skies were grey and full. It was to rain, surely. She had to make this little adventure a short one. So far, she had only taken one class in Flying and had gathered the basics. That was it. But wasn't that all you needed to know? She had watched hundreds of games with Otto, listened to his dramatized stories and random 'fatherly taught moments' of his in-depth, passionately explained talks on the subject. To her, that was more than enough.
Rain hovered there, her legs hanging over either side of the broom. Her hands rested on the smooth wood in front of her firmly. A smile spread widely across her face. Excitement, confidence. Yes, it was definitely a smug-ish smile.
She leaned forward, the broom now setting off at a rather quick pace already. Faster than the school broom she was used to. ''Woa- woah.'' She talked herself through the speed difference and began to lift in the air. Her smile that had began to fade soon came back. She flew through the ground, heading straight on at a speed that was slowly gaining by the second. ''Woooo- Woah! Haha!!'' Her wispy ends to her blonde hair were all over the place, some in her face, blurring her vision slightly and the rest slicked back from the speed. Did she know how to slow down on such a broom? Not entirely. But right now that didn't matter. It didn't cross her mind. Only the joy, and adrenaline that was jumping through her. Oh how she wished Otto could see her right now.

It was barely two weeks in to the new school year, and yet Aston already felt a sense of stress upon him. Perhaps it was his new found leadership positions around the school, sports captain, prefect, all of that along with his...less then satisfying grades. This year felt significant, like something was going to happen. It was his first year with the new class, he doesn't quite know if it was actually the case but it felt like a sign that he was moving into a more intense time, at least there wasn't any O.W.L. yet, no tests, no worry. Should he figure out what he should do in the future? Would it be possible for him to continues quidditch after Hogwarts? Athletes always felt like one of those jobs people don't actually get just cause of how hard it is to make it there.
He was a early riser, it came to be part of his routine over time, it helped him get used to the trainings, and gave Aston more of a breather in the morning, more time to do things. He never made the mistake of missing breakfast in the morning because he slept past or anything. Aston had been awake since around six am that day, a bit earlier then the last few days, after sometime of laying in bed failing to entertain himself or fall back to sleep, he officially gave up and got out of bed, careful not to wake anyone in the process.
As Aston was leaving, his sliver arrow caught his eye, his nice, new, sliver arrow that he hasn't really had the time to test out yet, not at Hogwarts at least. It took essentially no time for Aston to decide to take it with him, he was never much of a jogger anyway. It wasn't the best of days, Aston felt the chill in the air, the slight goosebumps on his skin. The sun wasn't quite out yet, even if it were the right time for that it wouldn't be visible, the grey clouds in the sky serving as a sign. Still, there was few reason that would make Aston give up on flying, and bad weather was not one of them.
Before he could fully hop on his broom though, the sound of someone in the air got to his ears first. Aston looked up to see a blond girl on a broom, flying in the air and cheering in excitement as she speed up. The sight brought a smile on Aston's face, it looked like one of those moments that would grow to be the start of a passion for racing. How wonderful. Aston got on his own broom, not wanting to wait any longer, the speed of this sliver arrow was...exhilarating. Something his broom just couldn't matched, he tried some movement drills, some tricks here and here. This, this is the kind of moments Aston lived for.
