You MAY say that I am teaching History of Magic, but you may not use a subject that is not listed in the respectable year in the curriculum (ie: year 1 lesson 1 is not Goblin Revolution, it is Ancient Magic Civilizations)

You MAY use my dialogue, or even mildly godmod June, but please get it approved by me in owls.

You MAY say that she is your favorite/least favorite professor, but it is quite unlikely that June has a favorite/least favorite student

You MAY interact with June's owl, Laura, in a friendly capacity (ie: petting, giving snacks, etc.) Laura is quite friendly, and also asleep during most classes

Classroom Description

The History of Magic classroom is not the biggest, nor does it have many windows, compared to some of the other classrooms in the castle. Despite this, it does have a very cozy, warm feeling about it. Scattered throughout the room are candles, providing light for students and teacher alike.

There are several rows of wooden desks and accompanying chairs, each made up of four columns. It is set up in such a way that there is a comfortably sized walkway in the middle, leaving two columns on the left, and two on the right.

The walls of the class are covered in maps and paintings, each labeled for wherever or whoever it is. There is also a single, grand window. If the sky is clear, warm sunlight fills the back of the classroom, near the entrance door and the final two rows of desks.

At the front of the classroom sat a slightly raised platform, with curved steps leading off from the side. On the platform is a large wooden desk with numerous drawers, and quite possibly some secret compartments. Behind that is a chair with a shawl draped over it.

The desk itself has a vase full of quills in varying shapes and colors. Next to it is a stack of parchment, both waiting for a student who might have forgotten their supplies. Professor Rotanski has made it made it clear that students may take however much paper they need or borrow a quill whenever, be it before or after her class. For a similar reason, one of the top drawers of the desk contains full ink pots in blue, red, and black. They, however, are only available during class.

Next to the desk is a bird perch, clearly meant for a very small avian. On a school day, the perch is occupied by Professor Rotanski's Eastern Screech Owl, Laura. Attatched to the perch is a small bowl. Most of the time, there are a few cricket-flavored pet treats, which may be fed to Laura.

On the wall behind the desk is a large chalkboard. Most of the time it has the name of a lesson written across the top, with facts and questions related to it scrawled underneath.

Also on the platform is a little side table. The table holds a smattering of odd trinkets and two photographs. One has Professor Rotanski with two ladies both younger than her. One, a chipper, curly-haired blonde, and the other a smirking woman with slightly darker hair but eyes the same color of hazel as the other. Those who are familiar with Professor Rotanski or her family would recognize the two as her younger sisters.

The other photograph is of two smiling children, nearly identical in every way. These two may look far more familiar, considering they are both students. One, with fiery orange hair, gold glasses, and a rather innocent looking smile, may be more identifiable to Gryffindors, as that is Pyce. The other, slightly more mischievous, with silver glasses and hair that, though growing out, is still noticeably dyed white, being more known to Slytherins, him being Hecate. These twins are the professor's nephews, information that is easier to come by.

At the back of the room, near the door, is a large bookshelf, filled with books about nearly every topic one could think of. Many of the books were from other subjects. You could pick up a book on runes, or magical creatures, or transfiguration. Many more were about history. Though, you'd have difficulty finding one about muggle history. Each book was free to borrow, so long as it remained undamaged and in the classroom.

The classroom door is almost always unlocked, expect for after curfew, and the professor does not mind students coming in outside of class time. However, if one does, she may be busy grading. Even so, she is usually willing to strike up conversation.
