The Office of Professor MacTavish
Just off of the greenhouses was a seemingly small room, though it was much bigger once inside. He hadn't really anticipated that he would receive an office, but he was glad that he had. It was a nice place, of course, to keep his belongings.
The room looked much like his rooms at home did; dried herbs were hanging from the walls and ceiling, a desk that was up against a wall, shelves that were filled with books. He had finally finished unpacking everything, but there wasn't much that he had brought with him. A few of his own gardening tools, his entire collection of herbology books as well as many of the muggle-written books about plants. There were a few pictures, some moved and some didn't. And, of course, next to his desk was a perch for his beloved Doc Holliday.
Boniface was a simple man. He led a quiet life, one that was fulfilling and happy. Minding his business, for the most part, he didn't really suspect that many students would find their way to his door to ask him any questions. How interested could they really be in Herbology? It was a fascinating subject, of course, but he knew better than anyone that it wasn't the immediate favorite of most younger students.
Herbology was an art. Something that was noble and required a lot of respect and dedication. It wasn't meant for everyone. He kept this in mind because he never wanted to dislike a student over something as trivial as that. Instead, he respected everyone and their interests as best as he could. This proved hard sometimes, but other times, he enjoyed the quirks that he found in each individual person.
So Boniface did love his students, and he loved interacting with them. As did Doc Holliday, for that matter.
This thread is for IC questions and interaction only. If you are looking to ask me something OOC about my homework, please refer to this thread.
You may knock on the door; Boniface will always answer as long as he's inside. He is quite friendly and certainly doesn't bite, so ask away! And remember, there are no stupid questions!

The Office of Professor MacTavish
Asking for help had never been one of Catriona's strong suits. There really wasn't much she couldn't fix by herself with a bit of research and a good amount of time. This situation, however, wasn't something that could be solved just like that.Interacting with @Boniface Murtagh MacTavish

If there was something she hated, it was being bad at something. And Catriona was bad at Herbology. Her essays were fine, great even, but her skills at actually growing plans were less than stellar. She'd never been especially gifted with plants.
Her parents had given her a gardening set at one point in an effort to get her out of the house and at first she was ecstatic. She'd watered them daily, waking up early every morning to go check up on them. Sometimes, she even read to them (which probably didn't help, but she liked to pretend they listened to her). And yet, they didn't grow. Day after day she watched them, wondering if she pushed the seeds down too low or watered them too little. Maybe she was smothering them. So she left them alone for a while, only to come back to their withered husks.
So, it was fair to say that Catriona didn't have the best track record with plants. She wanted to be good at it, but the whole thing was so immensely frustrating. Hence her current position in front of Professor MacTavish's office door. She was tempted to just call it a day and head back to the Ravenclaw dormitories. She wanted to do so, very badly. She hadn't even thought of what to say yet!
But no, she'd come this far. She wasn't going to back down, because she wanted to improve and that was as good a reason as any to impose on her Professor. Gritting her teeth, she brought her fist up to the door and knocked before she could regret her decision.
