Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
~ * ~Grass dipped around her feet as Ruby took a step onto the field. When she had taken breaks from reading and other studies sometimes unrelated to her normal schoolwork, she had often been out practicing in the event that she would actually be brought in. She had to be prepared, just in case. She was ready if she was needed, but she hadn't come on at all last game and was still more than a little disappointed, as in her very first game she had been a chaser and had scored both of Slytherin's goals. They had won, thanks to Dan catching the snitch too. That very first victory was against the Ravenclaws, and Ruby believed that they could do it again. Slytherins were determined, and the loss to Hufflepuff would likely only fuel it.
Shortly before the game started, when people would be preparing to mount their brooms, Ruby wandered over to Koko and leaned forward to talk to her quietly. “Nice job last game, keep it up. Knock 'em dead.” With something between a smile and a smirk, she patted the keeper's shoulder encouragingly and backed off, glad for a small moment to talk to her friend. She headed to the bench and settled down, comfortable but always alert, always observing, watching and paying attention. Of course it was so that she would be ready to come on if she had to, but it could help her learn more about the game, the strategies used, and each individual and team's strengths and weaknesses. Despite being benched, there was a lot that she could learn from.~ * ~

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Addorning the last pieces of his Quidditch gear, Neculai was mentally preparing for what was about to happen. Less nervous then last time, but still quite nervous the pale boy gripped his broom with his right hand. He slowly walked towards the entrance of the Pitch where the game soon would start. This time would be different. The Ravens were now up against a new foe, the Snakes. Merciless and vicious were the first things that came to his mind as he thought of them.
Shaking his head he entered the field. Sound filled the arena shaped battlefield. Sweat started to form as he was walking towards the grass. It wasn't warm, but it was the anticipation that got to him.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he mounted his broom. Anticipation filled the air and Neculai prepared himself for a very hard Quidditch game.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Round 1 Results
The chilly breeze continued to sweep itself past the air as the rest of the teams got into position. The game may not have started, but tensions were still high nevertheless. Each player had different thoughts on this match, but it was easy to see that both teams were determined to win. Would Ravenclaw seize another victory or would Slytherins redeem themselves from their last game? It was up to them to put their strategy and skills to the test and work together to earn the win for this game.

Once the Quaffle was released into the air, three chasers were up in the air. It seemed that both teams had other plans in mind for their chasers, but that didn’t mean they would avoid the Quaffle altogether. Someone still needed to score the first goal, and even one goal could have been the tipping point for victory.
It was a struggle, but Elena was ultimately the one who acquired the Quaffle. Now that she had it in her hands, all she had to do was throw it in the goalpost and she would be able to score the first 10 points in the game. It would have been an easy task, if it weren't for Dymphna, the Ravenclaw Keeper, who was standing in the way. She may not have been able to show off her skills in the last game, but that didn't mean she was any less competent. Elena needed to focus if she wanted to score with the Quaffle.

There was something about Dymphna. Maybe it was the way her hair shone in the morning sun. Or maybe it was her eyes instead. Those gorgeous blue eyes that seemed to sparkle under the light. Whatever it was, it was mesmerizing. Too mesmerizing, in fact. Elena would find herself momentarily stunned as she stopped to admire the Ravenclaw keeper for however long she could. The girl’s beauty was too much for her. How could someone so beautiful exist? Maybe it wasn’t love at first sight for the young Slytherin Chaser, but she was still a sight to behold.
That distraction alone was enough to lose Elena's concentration. Any thoughts involving shooting the Quaffle in the goalpost would either be long gone or buried at the back of her mind. Elena would throw it in, but it was nowhere near where the goals were supposed to be in. Instead, the Quaffle was sent flying wildly to who knows where. Dymphna didn't even need to lift a finger to deflect the Quaffle. It would simply careen onward with no direction at all.

The Ravenclaws must have known how much of a threat Erin was. It was no surprise, considering her notorious strength was nothing to scoff at. Lavinia would try to ram herself against the Slytherin Beater in an attempt to take her out of the game once and for all. If she could just get rid of Erin, her team would breathe easier, knowing that there wasn’t a scary Slytherin Beater out there who could possibly take them all in one shot.
But it wasn’t enough. Lavinia would zoom past her target instead, leaving Erin no worse for the wear. A loud whistle could be heard from within the stadium as the referee yelled out:
"Lavinia Cloven! One penalty lap for attempted blatching!"
It was a good effort, although in the end, it was ultimately for nothing. Lavinia would have to spend the next round making up for her foul.

Emma would try to send a bludger towards Erin. However, she would use a different tactic. She would utilize the element of surprise to her advantage, instead, opting to hit the bludger from behind her. No one would have seen it coming, and it would have been the perfect way to bring Erin down as sneakily as possible. It worked, although she had only barely managed to hit the Slytherin Beater. Despite that, it seemed it was just enough to knock Erin back and ultimately send her off her broom, falling to her imminent doom. It would seem that the Ravenclaws would have one less threat to worry about.

Today was not Elena’s day. Not only did she fail at getting the Quaffle in the goalpost, but she would also be hit by one of Jorah’s bludgers. Using a similar tactic to what Emma used, what he exchanged with strength, Jorah gained a better opportunity to throw the bludger towards Elena. And just like Emma before him, he would succeed, although he would be a lot more successful than she was. The bludger would be sent colliding towards the Slytherin Chaser, leaving her almost no chance to dodge the incoming projectile. The force of the attack was still strong enough that it sent Elena tumbling down towards the ground. Not only that, but it was also enough that her broom seemed to literally shatter. No, it wasn’t quite shattered to pieces, but there was no doubt that the broom would be useless for the rest of the game. Yikes.
The bludger would bounce off of Elena and continue to wildly fly around. For a second, it almost seemed as if it was about to crash itself towards Alexx, but the bludger simply moved aside instead.

At the same time, Erin would ready her bat and prepare to aim. She would be ready. Nothing would get in her way if she could help it. Similar to how the Ravenclaws knew Erin would have been a threat, the Slytherins had as much reason to believe that Emma would be someone who needed to be taken care of as soon as possible. Not only was she the Ravenclaw Captain, but she was a very skilled one at that. The last game would be a good indicator of her ability to take down her enemies with ease. With deadly precision, she would strike the bludger towards Emma. Erin’s bludger would make contact with Emma, sending her crashing down towards the ground at the same time Erin would plummet from the sky. It was as they said, what goes around comes around.

Ruthie would not let Emma fall to her demise that easily. They still needed their Captain, after all. As quickly as she could, she would swoop in to catch her falling Captain. Emma would be able to stay in the game for a little longer, although now that she had to share a broom with Ruthie, she would have to find ways to make use of her new situation.
Nico had also been waiting for this moment, knowing that one of her teammates would have potentially went down this round. But now she had to worry about two of her teammates falling. It must have been pressuring for the young Slytherin. Having to choose between who to save and who would fall to their doom. She had to make a decision. Would she save Erin or Elena?
As it turned out, it would seem that this would not be the end for Erin quite yet. Nico had made her decision, and she would go straight towards Erin. Rushing towards Erin, she would catch the falling Beater on her broom. Unfortunately for Elena, there was nobody else to save her. The girl would land on the ground with a sickening thud, signaling that she was done for this game. Maybe it was for the best. It might have given her the break she needed after all the unfortunate events dealt her way.

The two Seekers made no delay at finding the elusive Golden Snitch. It was an annoying thing. One second it would be there, and then it would leave as if it were never there to begin with. It would certainly be a challenge to find this pesky ball, but if they could catch it, it would ensure a guaranteed triumph for their team.
Neculai was on the lookout for the Snitch. He must have been filled with confidence, considering how he managed to not only find the Snitch but also catch it in his last game. Or maybe it was nervousness instead? Who knew what would have happened this game. But try as he might, it would continue to flutter around haphazardly,
Dan, on the other hand, had more luck in finding it. It was still a faint blur, but surely enough, the Snitch was there in all of its glory. It was as if the fates itself felt sympathy towards him from the last time he wasn’t able to find the Snitch. If he could only catch it, the game would come at its conclusion just as quickly as it began.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Edric watched the action on the field with widened eyes. Their team started off great, with Elena getting the Quaffle and heading for the Ravenclaw goal, but after that everything went south. She missed the goal, missed it wide actually, as if she hadn't even aimed properly, and then things happened very fast. Erin - another scary girl, why were all the Slytherin girls scary? - knocked the Ravenclaw Captain off her broom, but then got hit by one of the enemy Beaters hard. She fell like a stone, but before Edric could start screaming in panic their keeper snatched her out of the air. The situation seemed somewhat safe again... then he saw Elena fall.
He gasped when she hit the ground hard, feeling a bit sick watching. Edric loved flying, he really did, but Quidditch could be brutal.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
You know what? Alexx and Elena may not have always seen eye-to-eye, and Merlin! Did that girl have some nerve! But that didn't mean that on the field they were enemies too. So... She naturally felt a bit uneasy watching Elena fall from the sky. It was a tough reality check, making sure she was still in focus. Quidditch was tough like that sometimes. It was never easy watching a teammate plummet to the ground.
But that wasn't the end of it. The bludger came flying at the frail blonde girl, who, luckily, was quicker than she let on. Though it came flying at her (this was nothing new from games against Ravenclaw), all that happened afterward was a loud, "Oh fuck!" This foul choice of words came from the same blonde girl, Alexx, who could have easily been struck but was spared by her skillful maneuvers. Thanks a lot, nasty birds. Birds carry diseases, you know? Filthy animals.
Alas, Alexx did not fall from her broom. She remained to hold on tight to her beloved Nimbus, which frankly she could have a better broom (she did, her Moontrimmer, which she wasn't allowed to use this year), but money could only buy so much. But Alexx would be damned if she was caught dead on a school broom! What was this, amatuer hour?
And so the young girl would fly on. Her eyes twitched a little bit as she stared her teammates down, hoping that they would come out victorious against Ravenclaw once again. After all, they did deserve it.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Their game seemed to be going just the slightest bit better than the last, but Slytherin just seemed to have the worst luck. They did start out quite well, which was quite different than their first game of the season. Elena snatched the Quaffle from the air without much competition and took off, her blue hair flashing against the cloudy-gray background that was the sky. They were on track for an easy ten points. That is, until Elena tossed the Quaffle way off course. And then everything started going wrong.
Erin and Emma, one of each team's Beaters, tried to take each other out. It was a close call as both Beaters tumbled off their brooms. Thora breathed a sigh of relief as Erin was caught by Nico. The purple-haired veela, although she petrified Thora, was extremely strong and an amazing asset to the team. If she was taken out straightaway, Thora wasn't sure how well their team would be able to go on--and survive.
Thora had barely exhaled in relief when disaster struck again. A Ravenclaw beater sent a Bludger flying towards Elena. As Elena flew right off her broom and fell to the ground with no one to save her, Thora jumped to her feet. Why hadn't anyone saved her? At least they had a second string to back her up, but if they kept playing like this, it wouldn't be long before the team was reduced to nothing.
"You got this, Ruby," Thora called to their second string chaser who needed to replace poor Elena. She didn't know Elena well, but the blue-haired Slytherin seemed nice enough. Anyways, no one deserved such a fall from the sky. Her face set, Thora tore her gaze from Elena's crumpled form on the grassy ground back to the game--no, the war--raging in the sky. They had to win this.

§
Elena grabbed the quaffle perfectly, it was amazing, but then... it felt like someone had walked into her brain and forced her attention elsewhere. It wasn't natural, it wasn't Elena. The quaffle flew off somewhere else.
Then came the true fall, Elena's broom shattered, and she was for once glad that she wasn't using her mother's. Elena waited for someone to save her, it'd always happened before, but she saw the chaser sent to save fly past her and to someone else.
What was scariest then was the fall becoming all too real, Elena was still so high, so far to fall, a ragged scream ripped free from Elena's throat. And then all too quickly she hit the ground to the sound of a loud crack, agony sent Elena's vision white and a whimper was all that she could make before darkness overtook her...

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Bridget was not as ready as she had thought she'd been. At all. The second she got into the air things started happening much too fast and she found herself doing nothing, just sitting and trying to keep up with it all.
And that's when she saw Elena fall. Nico caught Erin, which was definitely a good thing, but there was no one to save the blue-haired Chaser and she landed hard on the frozen ground. Bridget felt a wave of guilt wash over her. This was her fault. In their first game, Elena saved Bridget from falling, and how did she repay her? She repaid her by being so lost and behind and useless that all she did was watch.
Seeing Elena sprawled unconscious on the ground sparked something in her though. Perhaps it was a need to avenge the loss of their Chaser or perhaps it was her own need to make up for her failure. Either way, Bridget was not going to miss anything else.

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Ravenclaw failed the initial quaffle grab. It was just Cecily against two other Slytherin chasers. Cecily nearly had it too, but the Slytherin girl Elena got there a half second sooner. Jorah spun his broom around and sent a bludger with a backwards beats her way, hoping to knock out Elena before she could score. The attack was a success! The bludger smashed into Elena sending her plummeting off of her broom to the ground below. Though triumphant, the beating had little to do with preventing the score on their hoops. It seemed Dymphna was using her Veela beauty their advantage. Jorah averted his eyes before he too fell under her spell.
Jorah scanned the air for the girl whose beauty he was already at the mercy of. He found Ruthie sharing a broom with Emma. When did that happen? A quick survey revealed Erin was riding double as well. Neculai appeared to be looking for the snitch while Dan was focused on one particular direction. "Damn, he must have found it already!" We planned for this, let's go!

Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
Slytherin had an aptly earned reputation for slyness. They all seemed pretty proficient in ducking and diving. But Elena wasn't quite quick enough for Jorah's bludger had hit her squarely and she went plummeting towards the ground. Ruthie was a little annoyed that it was Elena and not Erin on the ground. Because let's be real, Erin, with her purple hair and muscled arm, was scary. But just as the bludgers cracked towards Slytherin, so came another hurling their way. Out of the corner of her eye, Ru watched it slam into Emma. Gripping tight to her broom, she wasn't about to let her Captain fall. She sped up to meet the older girl and luckily, she made it just in time like she had with Jorah last match. Merlin, it's like saving people was becoming a habit (except for the Masquerade Ball, where all she'd done was scream and cry). She wished for the day she would be able to do something exciting like score, but for the moment, this important. No, this was critical. "Nice hit, Captain. Hold on," she said as she flew along. It was just the beginning of the match and there was much more work to be done.
