The Walking Dressed-Up
Adora was walking along the side walk of her small neighborhood, just after breakfast. This was a common thing nowadays, simply because she enjoyed the summer air, even if she got home with sweat dripping down her face and body like a waterfall. She turned at the block, expecting to see Mrs. Cumbler and her not-so-yappy Yorkie, Juggles.
She didn't see them, but reminded her self that she was at Bantham Beach, while her next-door neighbor, and overall Adora's enemy, Jake Marks' family took care of Juggles. She could tolerate Jake, but would rather not. Mrs. Cumbler's street were the bigger, fancier, more expensive houses, so naturally, Jake was snobby and called Adora an "Afforder" Her family could afford those houses, but it just wasn't what they needed, so why waste their money? It was just the three of them, after all. Her, her dad and her mom.
Once she got to the cul-de-sac, she walked past the sidewalk and into the entrance to the woods that surrounded her neighborhood, and picked up sticks. She was working on gathering enough sticks to be able to make three separate fires in her back yard so her family could have a little personal-sausage-cookout. She picked up about 6 sticks, each of completely different lengths. She jogged back to her house, walking when she got about three houses away.
Her mother was on the patio with a bottle of water, waiting for her.
"Thanks, Mom. I think I'm gonna go out later tonight, if thats okay?" Adora said, taking the water bottle and drinking.
"How about 2:00?" Her mother asked. She wasn't comfortable with Adora going out even at sunset. Anytime past 7:00, and you had to have an adult, and it had to be planned. "Sure. I'll go out then." Adora responded, giving her mom a sticky, sweaty side-hug.
A few hours later, Adora was ready to go back out. Her mother had gone to the ministry to work for a little while, so she told her dad she was going back out.
"Be back before 5:00!" Her dad called.
Adora let the door slam behind her, and broke into a jog, instead of just walking. She felt good about this outing, like she might meet someone.
So, she waited for someone to come out and greet her along her route.
Jake Marks came out, calling her by the nickname he gave her. She just ignored him and jogged past.
Stupid Jake. Anyone else gonna come out? She thought, looking around.
She got to the cul-de-sac, but instead of going back home, she turned onto a different street, headed to hopefully meet a new friend.

Camille had been enjoying her day with her family, it wasn’t often that they got to visit her aunt and uncles house. But after a while she wanted to escape everyone and take a walk around outside. It was a beautiful summer day, might as well take advantage of the warm weather while she could before summer was over and she was off to school. She grabbed her book and put it in her bag, threw on her converse sneakers and waved back at her family in the living room, “I’ll be back in a while!” Her parents gave her a nod of approval before she set out.
She had never really gotten to explore around this neighborhood before so today would be a fun little adventure. As she walked down the side walk she glanced around at the houses, they were really cute, beautiful landscaping, some people were outside working around the house. As she wandered down the street some more she stopped at a cute little bench, sitting down and pulling her book out to read a little. There was a slight breeze and the bench was being partially shaded by a tall tree which made the hot summer sun more bearable.

As Adora walked down the road, she realized it was actually really pretty. The houses weren't so small that the families who lived in them were cramped, but large enough that they had just enough space. They were all a nice white color, the kind that wasn't super bright when the sun hit it. Adora saw a bench on the side walk. She sat down, and looked around at all of the well kept yards, climbable trees, and watched a ball roll into the street. She stood up and ran to get it, returning it to their rightful owners. "Is this yours?" She asked them. The smallest boy took the ball from her hands. "Yep. Thanks." He said, quietly, and under his breath. Adora quickly turned around and kept walking. She noticed that the woods on her usual route carried on to this road, too. She recognized her and her father's camping spot from a few weeks ago. She shuddered, eyeing her leg. It was sensetive, but as long as she didn't bump it or over work it she was okay.
She kept walking until she saw another bench, this time with a girl on it, reading. She approached, hoping to be able to talk to her.
"Hey, can I sit here?"

Camille quickly read through 2 chapters of her book, she was a pretty quick reader and loved to learn new words while she read. She would probably finish this book in a few days, and was hoping to read another before going to the summer camp in a few weeks. As she sat there she decided to take a break from reading, closing her book and placing it in her lap. She just closed her eyes, letting the breeze blow across her face gently. The silence was soon broken by a quiet unknown voice speaking. She opened her eyes to see a girl standing there looking at her.
“Of course!” She said and scooted to the side a bit to make a little more room for the other girl. She seemed to be around the same age as her, maybe if she lived in this same area as her family she was a witch too but Camille knew not to just come right out and ask that sort of thing. “Do you live around here?” Camille asked the girl as she placed the book back into her bag and turning back to her. “I’m here visiting my family that live nearby.” She said with a friendly smile.

WC: 224Adora settled in next to the girl, who seemed really friendly. She was probably about Adora's age, and was holding a closed book in her lap. "Yeah, I live near here, just uphill from the intersection." Adora thought for a moment. She definitely wanted to be friends with the girl, but what if she saw Adora's leg? Got scared? Who knows what would happen then. "I'm Adora." She stared at the ground. She Usaully wasn't this shy. She didnt have many friends yet, so she was probably just nervous. "Are you going to Hogwarts?" Adora hoped she didnt sound quiet, panicky, nervous, or shy. She was panick-talking however, a habit she was bad at hiding. She sat next to the girl, crossing her legs. She had no idea what to do now. Should she start a conversation? Invite her over? Adora stood up to leave but had a better idea. "Im gonna run around, collect some sticks."
Adora walked to the cul-de-sac of the street, and picked up a singlular stick. It looked rotted, and it broke when she picked it up. She picked up another one, bent into what could be a half-circle. it was covered in moss. She looked back to the girl, and decided to let her start her own collection. So, she walked back over.
