"Hufflepuff!!!"

Carl was beaming as he made his way to the Hufflepuff table, he moved to find an empty spot and literally took the first seat he could find and it happened to be across from a girl he hadn't met yet. She seemed quiet, but Carl knew one thing was for certain, he was STARVING!!!! Without hesitation he began to fill his plate, he poured himself a cup of water from a pitcher and began to take a bite. Finally, he looked across from the girl he was sitting across. "Hi! I am Carl," he said to her while offering his hand.

After a moment he took another bite of sweet potato casserole from his plate. He swallowed and looked back to her, it took him a moment, clearing his throat he began to speak over the noise. "This ceremony is really something... Do you know much about the difference between these various houses? Like I heard the song an all but this whole world is completely new to me," he said genuinely. Carl knew he was going to be tired soon and looked forward to being lead back to the common room of his house.

His eyes fell back to the girl before him. "What subject are you the most excited to learn about?" he said, his eyes now giving her his undivided attention. "I am really interested in History of Magic, I know a bit of muggle history but it would be interesting to see the magical world point of view," he said as he took another sip of water.

@Carl Edwards Lindsey looked older then she really is. So a 4th year was trying to talk to her she ignored the 4th year . " hello I'm Lindsey " she said to carl also she has a American accent. " I do know the difference between the houses and I'm excited for potions " the 4th year stopped trying to talk to her.

" I just talked to someone wow " she thought to her self.

" have you read any of the books yet? I have I only have one chapter of Hogwarts a history left next I plan to read all of fantastic beasts and where to find them" she said to carl

She took a bite of food. " are you muggle born or pure blood or half blood? I'm a muggle born but I found out my great great great grandmother was a witch she went to Ilvermorny. " she took a big sip of water

" what's your favorite house other then ours? Mine's slytherin " she took another bite of food then a sip of water. The 4th year looked at her " I'm a 1st year I know I look older but I'm 11 " she said to the 4th year he then looked away and didn't look at her again. " anyways great to meet you Carl "

"Hufflepuff!" Stella felt her heart swell at the Sorting Hat's loud announcement ringing out to everyone who was watching. Her grip on the sides of the stool relaxed and she brought her left hand to massage her right, surprised to see how white her knuckles were. Guess I'd just been that nervous. She thought to herself. No more. She'd been sorted into the house she felt she truly belonged in. She was the first Hufflepuff in her family since her great-great grandfather... Crap, She thought to herself. That's a big gap. Most of her family was either Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor, with hardly any Hufflepuffs in the mix. What will Mum and Dad think? Stella knew she was happy about this, but she was nervous about what her parents would say when she told them. "Any house you end up being in, no matter what we'll be proud of you. Well... except for Hufflepuff. We'll still love you, but if anything, try not to be sorted into Hufflepuff. There hasn't been one since you're great-great grandfather, and we sort of want to keep it that way." Her father had said with a small chuckle. "Hufflepuffs aren't exactly considered the most impressionable when it comes to the Houses. They're at the bottom. Try to be at the top or at least the middle." Great. She was at 'the bottom'. But the Sorting Hat was never wrong, now was it?

As she made her way to the Hufflepuff table among every other students' applause for her being sorted into the badger house, Stella kept her head down. She already felt out of place enough being from Scotland and having only met English students on the ride to Hogwarts. She was yet to meet another Scottish student. No worries. Keep your hopes up. I'm sure there's got to be another Scottie somewhere. More than one, at that. It's not uncommon. She told herself steadily as she slid into an empty spot on the bench. Normally, she would've been talking it up as soon as she sat down, but the inner turmoil and anticipation of whether or not her parents would be disappointed in her kept her deep in thought as she stared down at her hands and stayed rather silent. This wasn't her nature. She was normally so bright and cheery. But now she had her father's voice running through her head and she couldn't make it stop. At the bottom.. at the bottom.. At. The. Bottom. Maybe she didn't want to be a Hufflepuff after all. She could have asked the Sorting Hat for Ravenclaw, or even Slytherin. She had the qualities for both. But she hadn't, because she'd been confident the Sorting Hat would do it on its own. Shoulders slumping, she shook her head and muttered to herself. She wasn't meant to be here as she'd initially thought.

She ventured into the Great Hall. Hufflepuff, second year! My, how time flew. First years? did she really look that small when she was a first year, she asked herself, and then thought better of it. She had always been teased about her looks, given she dressed different from the norm. She had even thought better this year, and brought along the bleach for her hair knowing she wouldn't be able to get any until she ventured home.

There weren't any spots near her usual friends at the table of puffs, but there was a first year sitting a bit away from the rest, burgundy-red hair. 'Not gonna do her any favors,' she thought to herself, 'Seeing as it's always the weird hair colors that stand out and divide themselves from the rest.' Without thinking she sat down next to the girl, filling up her plate with food before she began talking.

"Hello there," she said, reaching for another roll located on a plate in the middle of the table. "Names Siobhan. Siobhan Baird. That's pronounced Sha-vonn, but spelled S-I-O-B-H-A-N. Weird I know, i'm from Scotland-glasgow actually. S'probably why my parents named me such a thing. Anyways, how are you liking your first year? Classes going good? Made any new friends lately? Cut me off if you like, I always ramble on really."

Stella perked up at the sound of the girl saying she was from Scotland and her mood immediately lifted a notch and she found a smile creeping onto her face. "Really? I'm from Huntly. And, I'm usually the same way, but I'm the first Hufflepuff in my family since my great-great grandfather and he wasn't the most successful and actually brought our family reputation down for a while an'--" Wait. Why was she telling her this? Stella felt her face flush and started over.

"I'm Stella. Dawson. And.." She bit her lip. Might as well admit that she didn't belong, right? "I don't belong at this table. I mean, I don't mind being a Huffle-- I actually hoped for it, but my parents aren't going to be as happy as I was when they find out. They probably won't send a howler-- they won't be that disappointed-- but they definitely won't be happy. My mum doesn't care either way, but my dad was dead set on me being sorted into any of the other houses, and basically whatever he decides my mum goes along with.. I'm not that excited to receive that owl.." She laughed nervously, biting her lip and ducking her head. A curtain of thick, burgundy hair fell over her shoulder and Stella immediately reached to pull it back into a high ponytail, praying silently that the hair tie didn't snap. When she'd successfully pulled it back, she turned her attention back to the girl who'd sat by her. "Sorry. you probably don't want to hear about my first year problems, bein' older an' all.." She chuckled nervously, averting her gaze to her hands and wringing them together./center]

Akore would sit at the end of the Hufflepuff Table. Akore would sigh as he thought to himself, why is it everyone here is so friendly.

Since Akore was just sorted into Hufflepuff two days ago, he felt completely lonely. Like the whole school is around him in a circle with a big gap between them, all criticizing him.

Yesterday was Akore's first day at Hogwarts. And he was late to almost all of his classes except for potions. Because he was lost in the halls.

Akore would never understand why everybody in Hufflepuff was so friendly. It made things even worse for Akore, because it was like people kept trying to get into his personal life without even asking to be friends. A few people yesterday asked Akore all about his personal life they grabbed his books. And looked through his notes, they smiled gave him back his stuff. And asked whats your mother likes. That was it for Akore and he ran to his dorm. So far today been a good day if a good day involves seeing people trip in doorways and run straight into you, in the halls.

Akore was a pretty lonely kid and had no friends before he came here. So nothing really changed on that side. The only class he really enjoys is potions even though he has no assigned partner yet and just receives random ones. Akore could not wait for potions class, and just smiled thinking about it.

Akore took a deep breath in and exhaled. "Todays a better day." Akore said.

Akore knew that he was going to be forced to make friends sooner or later as he sat at the table. But he never had friends not even in his home city Cambridge. So Akore always did amazing things to show his parents amazing things about him. He always did it just for approval and his parents knew that so he always just got that and nothing else. And Akore was happy. But ever since he got here he never felt that feeling of approval he's only felt criticism.

"Maybe I should make some friends... But will they really be what everybody says they are? Are they really nice to have around and there to cheer you up?" Akore has always been one to wonder things like this and it always ponders in his head. Akore would sit at the edge of the Hufflepuff table. On the edge closet to the exit. He overheard some other Huffepuffs but barley he could only hear mumbles because it was so loud.

Akore would sigh then smile knowing he can prove to his professors that he is worthy to be proud of. So when everything was over he left to the Hufflepuff Common Room to get ready for Charms class.

"HUFFLEPUFF!" The Sorting Hat exclaimed.

Serena hopped off of the Sorting Hat's stool with a big smile on her face. The first year had always thought she'd fit well there. Serena was glad that she was right. After making sure to hand back the hat, she walked towards the table filled with students. Some were wearing robes with a black and yellow tie. Those must be the older students. However, some were just like her, in the simple black ones. Serena briefly wondered when she'd get her tie, sweater, and other Hufflepuff-themed school gear. Maybe in the dorms? She would have to ask an older student.

Serena sat down at the table. She was about to introduce herself when her stomach decided to grumble loudly. She felt her face warming up. Well, that was one way to make an impression. She awkwardly laughed.

She reached for the platter of chicken in front of her. Picking some up with the provided utensil, she carefully distributed some to the plate directly in front of her. She also scooped up some green beans and grabbed a dinner roll.

After taking a bite of the chicken, Serena was impressed. This was some of the best chicken she'd ever had! Her mother, aunt, and uncle had told Serena the food was good, but she didn't think it would be this good!

Serena eagerly took another bite. Oh, she could get used to this!

The world is filled with nice people. If you can't find one, be one.

Tracey was now sitting at the Hufflepuff table. For once, she was quiet. She didn't have anyone to talk to anyway. She fiddled with one of her hair clips thinking of the Ravenclaw blue color that hadn't yet rubbed off. Soon, her mind was set on food, which was the only thing she could think about. She glanced around looking at the other Hufflepuffs talking. Her eyes started looking at the other tables. Each seemed to be different in personalities, despite her sitting alone at the Hufflepuff table, she could still see what and feel the general mood around the other tables. She looked down at her plate of food which she hadn't noticed earlier. She looked at the food hungrily. Looking around quickly, she saw other students eating, so she dug in. It was the best food she had tasted since, ever! All of Tracey's thoughts were now on her food, her mind not wandering elsewhere, for once. Well, it was still thinking about how she's starting the school year with no friends and zero social interactions, but food is far more important than social interactions, or was it? Tracey sighed as she stopped eating, her mind was soon set back on the food and she happily continued.

He sat down in a heavily public part of the table. He watched as everyone talked, played, sang, and joked. He liked seeing people just be, well you know, people. The atmosphere was calm and all-around friendly. He turns to see the other tables.
"Gryffindors seem to be getting along well enough," He looks higher to see the Slytherins "they seem to be quiet but extremely social..." And turns to what the sorting hat said his family was in, Ravenclaw. "Tense..."  The Ravenclaws seem more collected, they seem to be doing their own individual things. Though Dakota was shy, he loves to socialize and talk.
"Hey- welcome to the best house, Hufflepuff!" He shook their hand. He smiled as the older kids congratulated him. "You know, the more Hufflepuffs the better."
"Are we going to eat?" He asks, the train ride was quite long for him.
"Of course!" An older Hufflepuff answers.
"Well, this seems like a lot of tables to serve..."
"Muggle-born?"
"Technically... raised by great muggles, but I come from a pureblood family line..."
"That doesn't make a difference, does it?"
"What do you mean?"
"Being Half-blood, Muggleborn, or Pureblood, your abilities won't be different."
"Yeah, I guess,"
"But wait til' you see how food is served, it's going to be mindblowing for you!"
Dakota nods and turns to the other houses table, looking for more people to talk to.
"Hi, I'm Dakota, you can call me Koa... if you want"
