The First Step of a Long Journey PV N. Lazarus

"They're tarts! Kinda like tiny pies" she grinned, "These are just little ones, but at home she and I would make bigger ones." she explained as she looked at her little assortment to try to discern which was which, "I know those two are strawberry and blueberry," she started, pointing to a pair of tarts filled with sugared strawberries and blueberries respectively, "The yellow one is lemon, that one is chocolate, and then raspberry cream and then I think that one is either a plain cream or maybe cheesecake?" it was hard to tell since they tended to look so similar.

Taliesin beamed at him with the suggestion that it would be like a little picnic before he rushed the door to try to hunt down the sweets trolley. For a moment, while her new friend was gone, she considered the little tin in her hands. She wondered if perhaps Nanny knew she might have the chance to share her treats with whatever new friends she might find herself on her journey. Usually the woman would only pack her one or two normal sized snacks, but this time there was such an assortment... enough to consider the tastes of multiple people of the chance arose. Quietly, she thanked Nanny Morgan for, once again, being the smartest person in the house.

She was startled out of her thoughts when a thump came at the door from Nick running into her, but her grin quickly returned seeing he'd been successful in his acquisition of the rest of their picnic. The girl bounced a bit in her seat, turning herself to face him more head on as she tucked one leg beneath herself, "This is perfect!" she giggled.

Nick stared at the assortment of pastries as soon as he sat down, looking at each one for a solid few seconds since he couldn't exactly decide which one sounded the more delicious option. "It all sounds so good!" His family wasn't exactly known for being the best of cooks, his dad could make some pretty decent meals but he did have his own routine and his own preferences when it comes down to it. Because of that, Nick could name a pretty substantial list of soups and stews without much other than the scent alone. But that never stopped him from having the sweetest of tastes when it came to snacks, he enjoyed sneaking some during his own private classes just to keep himself focused on whatever he was forced to read that time.

He placed the treats he brought on the seat in between him and Taliesin. "I brought chocolate drops, pumpkin pastries, caramel coins and these chocolate brownies!" He pointed each item out with a big grin. "I think I want to taste that cheesecake one? That sounds delicious and I don't think I ever had one before!" Of course, only if Taliesin was willing to share with him. "You can pick whatever you like!"
